Not the widest menu, especially the starters, but very good as always, thanks.
Fantastic, friendly pub with great food and service.
Lovely atmosphere in the pub and a great Sunday lunch. Busy, so sometimes a bit slow, but friendly service and definitely worth the wait.
Fantastic food and atmosphere as always! Will be back again very soon!
Lovely pub food, just the right portion size , two good vegetarian options, good service and reasonably priced.
Always a lovely relaxing Sunday lunch. Thank you
Really nice place - dog friendly, tasty food, friendly staff and nicely decorated. Great spot to finish a country walk!
Room was quite echoey with 2 large groups. Tiny car park. Overall a very enjoyable meal. Would recommend!
We had dinner there several times during our holidays. Tge food is excellent and the service fast and very welcoming. The place in itself has a lovely cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended
We booked online, we arrived on time and the table was ready even though the Pub was busy. The table service was very good and our Sunday Lunch experience could not have been better. The Food was well presented, plenty of Veg etc. We can thoroughly recommend the Catherine Wheel for Sunday Lunch.
All 4 of us had the roast dinner, and puddings. Beautifully cooked, very tasty. Service excellent. Friendly staff.
The only disappointing comment about the experience is that it was extremely limited for gluten free options.
Fantastic as always. Great service and delicious food.
Service was impeccable as was the food. A great way to celebrate a birthday
Food was ok but Burger was a frozen burger with no taste.
Staff were beyond terrible - clearly a rift between chef and waiting staff which resulted in shouting across the room for orders and staff telling customers the chef is in a bad mood so no food will be served.
Will never visit again !!!
Fantastic food and service, couldn't fault a thing. We will definitely be returning !
We visited for Sunday lunch and due to a large birthday party there was a quite a delay with our food arriving at our table. Having said that, the meal was lovely and the service from then on was impeccable.
Lovely meal and friendly staff one of our faves to visit locally recommend their Sunday roasts also
A very reliable Sunday roast, always well cooked, with great service and decent portions.
Lovely little old stone town pub, good food and a delicious Stroud organic pale ale on tap!
Busy Sunday so noise levels bound to be high with many diners enjoying a family lunch.
We booked and it all worked perfectly. The Food was very good and the service efficient. We will return to the Catherine Wheel again Im sure. Thank you.
We sat at a lone table wedged between the bar and a fireplace next to the corridor running past the bar. Not very relaxing for a Sunday lunch. We had the main course but didn’t really want to stay for puddings/coffee. Even our son who is pretty laid back about everything thought the table position was not great. The food was good and the service fine, and we would go back, but I would specifically ask not to be seated at that table.
Food was lovely. We all had a different roast, with me having the veggie option. Really nice to see a delicious twist on the normal dry nut roast that I’ve had in other places.
Friendly staff and very welcoming of the dog.
All in all a great experience!
A very nice birthday meal! Staff very friendly and helpful . Very large portions ! Good menu choice ...
Good pub food in a big, old, beautiful building in a pretty village.
Very good service. Good ambiance. Highly recommended
We had a great Sunday lunch at the Cathryn Wheel, we had never visited it previously and booked a table for 7 after a Sunday family walk. Great selection of meals.. and the deserts are not to be missed.. we will be back in the future for more walking and eating..
Just spent the last 8 nights on the quaint village of Marshfield, whilst visiting family.
Dined at The Catherine Wheel twice and the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly on both occasions.
Will certainly come back if in the area in the future.
The vegan moussaka looked disgusting and tasted awful. Salads over dressed and probably some time before service started so soggy and unpleasant. The steak was basic but good and the fish and chips looked good. They did take the Moussaka off the bill. Very popular village pub with good friendly atmosphere and the staff were lovely but the food was basic pub grub.
We always have a lovely time at this pub. It’s a family favourite
Waited for 40 minutes at the table to be served a drink, never saw a waiter/waitress for another 30 minutes. Confusion about my order for a dry martini and lemonade. Didn’t appear to know what it was? Eventually after 70 minutes came and took our order. Lost our order, and no real concern about it. Had we decided to re order we would have been there until midnight!! Terrible for Marshfield village!
Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere and great service.
The pub is in a characteristic village which sets the scene of the pub. Covid safety is still in mind. Lovely food and good ambiance. Recommend fully
very enjoyable. Car parking a bit difficult.
Lovely friendly service and a first class Steak and Ale pie to die for! The veggie Sunday roast was also fabulous. Great little pub.
First time back since Covid. Roast was amazing! Always a lovely experience and tasty food.
Ordered nachos which for some reason came with BBQ sauce, chips tasted like the oil in the fryer needed changing when we mentioned this the staff where not interested. Really poor and would not eat there again.
Very obvious venue had been taken over.....new staff not a patch on the previous owners. The staff in general were young and forgetful!
Lovely, quiet pub/restaurant. The lady serving was very friendly and helpful. Great first meal!
