The Cedar Tree restaurant has a 2 AA rosette award and is located in the beautiful and historic manor house Glewstone Court which hosts an increasing number of exclusive Weddings and Family Celebrations.

Our kitchen team is led by Head Chef Richard Kaye. Our Chefs source only the finest, local ingredients and prepare and cook from fresh daily.

Choose to dine in the main restaurant, bar area or in the courtyard. All dining areas have stunning views across the gardens and orchards towards the valley. In the winter months you can enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the dining room or bar with open fires and wood burners and in the summer months you can enjoy a pre-dinner wine, spirit or cocktail in the courtyard which has the feel of the Mediterranean. (Open from Wednesday- Saturday.)

We do a traditional afternoon tea from Wednesday until Saturday. We require 24 hours notice for an afternoon tea but but we offer cream teas at any time.

My husband and I went to The Cedar Tree for an anniversary treat and loved every minute of our visit. We opted for the 6 course taster menu and every dish was delicious, the food was perfectly cooked with great attention to detail from a very talented chef. The staff from the moment you arrive are attentive, friendly and make you feel so welcome and the dining room is spectacular. Just loved it and would highly recommend.

Lovely country retreat. Our third visit. Very professionally run by an attentive host who, without fuss, ensures all expectations are met. Very encouraging to see all tables (lunchtime) taken. We were lucky with a beautiful day but lovely warm blankets were available to keep any chill off the legs. Plenty of room outside the Mediterranean style dining area to enjoy a pre or post lunch drink/coffee. Our first dining out post lockdown and we could not have chosen a more perfect place to celebrate it.

We were really pleased to spend an evening dining at Glewstone, and to help them celebrate the re-opening of the restaurant. My wife and I shared a Chateau Briante which we really enjoyed, washed down with a good Carménère (always a good bet there as Sam knows his wines). Looking forward to returning again soon when the hotel itself is open.

Brilliant hotel and restaurant with excellent staff, helpful and with character. the kind of people who help you without being condescending. A great menu featuring local produce and tbh understated. I know some people would say its old fashioned but its refreshing from the corporate world and we a had a great stay and food. plus the wine has been very well chosen - not the classic, easy to identify well-known names but hidden gems which were very tasty and didn't cost silly money. - well done all! Breakfast was good too, meaty butchers sausages and not over salted bacon!!

The restaurant has been changed to stay in line with Covid recommendations and so may not quite have the feel you might expect. It does not detract in any way from the overall enjoyment of a visit. Attention to detail is good, service is as efficient and unobtrusive as could be hoped for and the quality of food is superb. We had guinea fowl and steak, both of which met our expectations. These were followed by sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie, both of which exceeded expectations. A return visit is on the cards sooner rather than later
