The Cheese Bar
We work closely with our producers, sourcing all our cheese direct from UK-based farms that are making cheese in a traditional & thoughtful way.
Really nice atmosphere, great service, great food, maybe the portions are a bit small but that depends on you. A bit pricy but nothing scandalous. Overall good experience. Would do again.
Fantastic place. Brilliant food. I thought maybe if the place was a bit bigger but I cannot fault anything else. The food is worth it all.
Is worth a trip would recommend the lunch deal though, otherwise is silly pricey like £6 for a little portion of chips
A must for cheese lovers! A really indulgent treat, not for the faint hearted. Though the portions sizes were on the small side, the food was delicious. Not something my arteries will want me to repeat for a while but a great sociable evening spent with good friends, good wine and good cheese!
Amazing food, super cheesy and reasonable pricing.
Nice atmosphere too!
Was expected it to be amazing from previous reviews, but for us it was just 'ok
A great place and some really good menu options. The fondue with meatballs was perfect for 2 and a great touch bringing out a complementary desert for the birthday girl
We popped in for quick dinner before going to the Roundhouse for a gig.
The staff were fantastic. We have the mozzarella sticks for stater and then London Burrata and Raclette to share. The hazelnut sage pesto served with the Burrata was amazing.
Wine wise, we went for Rioja.
The food and wine was amazing, what could possibly go wrong with cheese! Highly recommended.
Fondue was amazing and the staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to make our experience a great time
The Cheese Bar was wonderful, great food and service as always! Thank you!
Quite expensive for the portion that they give, we both ordered raclette, it’s only 1 single slice of cheese for 12£, mine was half over grilled so not a lot of cheese. The cheese is really good though, but really the portion is ridiculous for this price. I would still recommend it for cheese lovers because they have a lot option, but the price is really too high. Also I don’t like the fact that they’re no space in the restaurant, you cannot have zero intimacy
Delicious food with lovely service and a very reasonable price.
Looking forward to go back
If there was only one thing I would have said was put on the specials board if it is single or share as I ordered a special but it was a share and wasn't told
Apart from that the food and atmosphere was fantastic
I would recommend it for anyone that loves cheese. The only reason why I put 5 stars is because I expected more options and for them to be quite different as it is called the ‘cheese bar’ which sounds unique for me . But apart from that everything was excellent and service was great .
The food was absolutely incredible, and the atmosphere is lovely and welcoming.
Amazing restaurant with a really unique concept of all cheese. Food was amazing, service was good (cocktails to a little while to come) but overall great restaurant with great atmosphere, location and food selection.
Amazing food, lovely small venue. Staff were both knowledgeable about the menu . The staff were also very friendly and chatty. We even got free ice cream for our birthday.
The food was really nice. I especially loved the mozzarella sticks and lemon cheesecake. I also really liked the wine. The atmosphere was nice. The restaurant had a cool, modern vibe. It was a small place with just counter seats or a high table, so no seperate smaller tables which I really liked.
The staff wasn't very nice though. They were polite but not super friendly, service could be better: they didn't ask if we wanted more drinks when our glasses were empty and they forgot I wanted to pay the bill, for example. It mostly felt as if the ladies did not feel like serving to their guests.
There is no bathroom in the building, you have to use the public Camden Market bathroom just outside the building.
Great interaction with the staff - they were very attentive and friendly. The food was, as always, fantastic.
Wonderful place, the staff were amazing. I had the issue of another friend coming over my booking and they instantly accommodated and worked around it. They were fine with splitting the bill, explained everything and had a great laugh.
Food was delicious and cheesy, the only thing I will ask is for a few more veggie options but thats always just because I want to eat more cheese :D
As the name suggests, if you love cheese, this is the place for you. I took my wife for her birthday and she loved it.
For starters, the cheese profiteroles are delicious. The brie seemed a little over priced for two thin bits.
My main was the Queso Fundido. This was basically melted cheese with a spoonful of chilli con carne. Again, London pricing meant it was a little expensive for what it was. My wife's Blue cheese raclette on the other hand was excellent and reasonably priced. I would recommend that.
She had lemon cheesecake for pudding and I had the ice cream.
I'm not the cheese lover that my wife is but I liked it. She, on the other hand, was in heaven. It's certainly a place I would say to visit at least once. I'm sure we'll be back for a treat though.
We shared baked cheese, macaroni cheese and cheesy chips. Everything we had was delicious. However you can’t expect only two small pieces of bread to eat with your baked cheese. It’s a rip off as they want you to pay for an extra slice of bread (which we did as we had 2/3 of the cheese left!) Not great value for money in terms of the portion size but lovely food regardless
The fondue should taste more like cheese and less like wine
What a great experience. I’m a lover of cheese so slightly biased but frankly I would have loved it if it was the spinach bar!
The staff are great, really knowledgeable about all of their cheeses and wines. Its particularly fun to chat to Sonny the owner who will charm you throughout - well I call it charm...
If there is a cheese lover in your life or you can’t get enough of the stuff yourself you will not regret heading to the Cheese Bar - my cheese loving girlfriend gave me serious browny points for this night out!
Awesome place with amazing food. Friendly staff and fast service. Definite recommendation!
Friendly staff, nice seating area. Food is good but a bit disappointed when I came to the restricted fresh cheese selection. They have quality drink and food portions are good. Love the fondue fritter and Camdencolada! I'll be back
A great way to sample great British cheese and the team are amazingly knowledgeable and friendly
This was a real find for us. We were looking to do something a little different in terms of food when we stumbled across The Cheese Bar, so we booked it. Tucked in the market area, you might almost walk by, but once in there the management/staff were great - interested without being intrusive. Quirky place in as much as you are on a big table with other guests BUT don't let that put you off (always good to see the other dishes that are being served). we went for the fondue - you must have it, plus a few add ons. It was fabulous - caters for all, and our 13 year old enjoyed it all too. Highly recommended
Perfect 👍Must go for cheese lovers! Friendly service and good food.
We came back after a disastrous first visit because I believe in second chances. But trust me, like your disasterous ex, this place does not warrant a second go-round no matter how good the cheese (sex) is.
It’s cramped, smelly and you can’t get served unless you flag down one of the hapless barmen vacantly examining their dirty nailbeds right in front of you.
Portions are small and, though gloriously cheesy, are not worth the hellish trip to Hot Topic extravaganza, Camden. There are better places to live your dairy fantasy. Move on.
Really quirky place but we loved it. Food was fantastic although the range is a little limited. Would certainly revisit.
We absolutely loved it here, the food was amazing!
The goats cheese grilled cheese with honey was spot on. Love that they have the option of 500ml carafes of wine. Friendly staff and quick service.
Probably because it was Saturday night and we booked quite late, dinner at 9pm but it took a long time to have the food ready, not sure if probably they have a small kitchen but it took longer than expected and the restaurant was just at 30% capacity , so just be patient
Don't want to sounds cheesy, but this is as ghouda it gets!
Great. All of it great, can’t recommend highly enough
Good portion of fondue but not exceptional taste nor dips. Good for a night out but wont be back I think.
A great night in a small restaurant in the heart of Camden Market. The menu is all cheese based but there is plenty for carnivores to enjoy (Not so much for Vegans!). The grilled cheese sandwiches are the best I've had this side of San Francisco but all the cheeses on the menu are British. The ice cream was the best I've had.
Had a really nice time celebrating my girlfriend's birthday, was a lunchtime friday booking and fairly calm at the time. The selection was great and the cheese puffs were super intriguing. Only thing that stopped it being a 5/5 experience was the tightness of the counter seating, but again could go for the table seating to avoid this.
The food came quickly and was delicious. Staff were on their toes and friendly
