A superb experience all round. The food was first class and at a fine dining standard. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and service
A lovely setting for a celebratory meal. The service was excellent and there was a great range of vegan options.
First time visiting, for a birthday lunch. What a great discovery!
Nice, small place with a good atmosphere. Three courses each of great food. I’m not usually one to rave about soup and bread but it was so good! Also, really nice cocktails and wines.
Pretty much the only downside, it was slightly hard to find!
During recent months I have introduced a number of friends to the Chef's Table via lunch dates and all are equally impressed with the food and the service.
Our 3rd visit , not disappointed, lovely food and excellent service
Not if your Vegan. Food was OK but OK doesn't warrant those prices.
The experience was good and its a nice restaurant with good quality food. I've been to te restuaraunt a few times and previously it had been excellent. However on this occassion I was a little disappointed as the roast beef was tough. I had popped in the day before to cofirm the booking and inform them that it was my duaghters 17th Birthday which they made a note of. However on the day there was no mention of the Birthday and it was as if the were completely unaware of it. So a bit disappointed.
Beautiful meal! Best restaurant in Chester. The service was great & we had a lovely time.
Nice, relaxed location. tasty food with helpful staff.
Food was lovely and so was the service. Very relaxing and attentive service. Quality was 10/10, would definitely recommend.
I have already recommended The Chefs Table to the hotel owner where I was staying so that he can pass it on to other guests.
A small but buzzing restaurant with excellent food (both in conception, appearance and flavour) aided by a friendly, helpful and efficient staff. A real star appearance on the Chester food scene.
Our first visit and we will be back. Service was friendly and efficient, food delicious and plenty of vegan/veggie choices
Outstanding, service was amazing, very quick service interesting different food, staff were all friendly.
Couldn't fault just some constructive criticism the cocktails néed a little tweak in our opinion. Was great finding somewhere with such an amazing vegetarian menu thoroughly enjoyed made our day and the price was very reasonable considering the standard.
A much anticipated visit with friends. A really friendly welcome , efficient service . Totally excellent food, beautifully presented with a range of delicious flavours.
Buzzing atmosphere -a most enjoyable evening- we will be back.
Thank you all.
The best olives in the world! Food was delicious! Great vegan options. Lovely staff. Will definitely come back :)
The food and service here are excellent, however, I feel I must mention the misleading advertising they have adopted. They offer a lunchtime discount of 2 courses for £20 or 3 course for £24, what they fail to mention is the mains don't come with any accompaniments i.e. vegetables, potatoes or chips, these have to be paid for separately, which is misleading when quoting £20 for 2 courses. Let me put it this way, who would order a steak without veg, chips or potatoes
Disappointed with the lack of choice on the lunchtime main course - chicken, hen, cod or venison for an extra £3.
A hidden gem nestled amongst the quiet back streets of Chester city centre and totally unmissable. The food is on a par with some of the best restaurants in the country yet everything about the place is understated and that’s what sells it! Will definitely be back and will recommend to all my family and friends.
We’ve been here a few times before and have always enjoyed it. We had 3 courses of beautifully prepared food and a micro bottle of red. Fine and effortless service. We love this place.
The food is excellent and good value for money. The staff are extremely friendly but not pushy. Fantastic restaurant!
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be back
Always an excellent dining experience. I eat there if I can get a table reservation!!!
We really enjoyed our visit on 29th Feb. Great atmosphere, good service and beautiful food!
Vegan meal was tasty but whether it was value for money against a meat/fish dish is debatable.
Excellent meal, food top quality. Service outstanding, front of house staff have excellent knowledge of the food being served. Had a lovely evening and would thoroughly recommend.
Everything was wonderful! More rhubarb in the dessert please! Mayb less celeriac on the menu. Minor points only. Overall left feeling full and happy.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere at our lunch time visit. Will definitely be going again and have no hesitation in recommending 😊
Excellent food & service.
Only quibble my coffee could have been hotter x
Excellent food and service, love the menu and look forward to visiting again this weekend
A great find. We had intended to eat elesewhere but a booking of 40 people made us look for somewhere else. Everything about our evening was excellent.
The menu is too clever, lots of alternative ingredients but despite this a certain blandness to the dishes. This is the first time I have been disappointed at the Chefs Table. Seem to be trying too hard to be different but this menu falls flat.
A pre theatre trip. But they were very helpful and we managed 3 courses. Well we had to have the chocolate fobdant.
Great service and the menu was really exciting. Food top notch food. Clearly as it was a small venue and the kitchen is aside you it’s a little noisy but given everything else it’s only a tiny issue to tolerate during your meal. It’s not so loud you can’t hear. Can’t wait to return and try other dishes
Great food and service will be back
First visit. Very impressed. Food was delicious. Service was friendly and informative. Definitely going back.
Delicious food in a lovely setting. Staff were incredible attentive and helpful and clearly the chef's know what they are doing! The gluten free menu was extensive and it didn't feel like there were limited options. Wine choices were nice and price was very reasonable! Would definitely visit again next time we go to Chester.
Don't be fooled by the decor - the restaurant looks like a cafe, but the food is excellent. Not the most extensive menu, but that is because the food is all prepared in an open kitchen with fresh ingredients and it's nicely presented. The steaks were prepared exactly as we had asked - medium rare and the cod loin was beautiful. They even serve good coffee. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.
The food here is unbeatable in that the ingredients are good, everything is well cooked, and the thought that has gone into its assembly and presentation is at the highest level.
I could not praise it too highly.
The service is good but the initial service (not bad) is not as good as in some restaurants. The choice has been made, for instance, not to serve bread immediately--perhaps reasonably --but that sense of immediate attention is very important in a restaurant experience. It is not bad here at all but it is the one point that might be improved.
The wine list is OK but not inspired.
But the last word must be praise and gratitude for the very high level of gastronomic expertise, thought, and taste in this small restaurant. Long may it flourish.
