The Chefs Table
They work very closely with all their suppliers but especially alongside a team of organic growers called The Natural Veg Men whom are situated 15 miles from the restaurant and allow the chefs to work with amazing produce that influences their menus.
At lunch they offer a smaller a la carte menu with an amazing offer of 2 courses for £18 and 3 course for £22, and then in the evening there is a full a la carte menu which offers a wide range of choice with lots of innovative original dishes using some of the best produce that is available to them.
This restaurant offers a relaxed fine dining atmosphere, where everything is set up to give the guest an unique dining experience.

Amazing food, a great relaxed atmosphere, never disappoints!
Great food, great experience! The one thing I would suggest possibly looking into .... we had the sticky toffee ale pudding and thought the passion fruit sorbet was a little over powering for the toffee? It was still delicious though! Especially the soup!!
Loved the food. Setting is very basic ... I’m sure it could be improved upon. Other than that LOVED IT
Was very pleased when I visited the restaurant in December but was disappointed on this occasion in my choice of rib eye steak. It was very ordinary, slightly chewey and overpriced. I realise the kitchen is very small but my jumper smelt of cooking after leaving the restaurant.
Chef's Table is the best restaurant in Chester. The food is superb and great value. We had the 3 course Sunday lunch, which is a bargain ar just £22. Service is always friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!
Birthday - service is polite but bought a bottle of wine, which was then taken away out of sight (hmmm) and then we had empty glasses for over 5mins before having to ask to top up. Table too small for it and no trim between tables.
Ingredients are just delicious, but the curry flavour was like a curry shop powder that overwhelmed the fish and scallop. Lamb was divine. Chic fondant to die for.
Building is a little too compact, being shoved against a wall or window with no gap makes you feel cramped, even a small gap few inches away would make it feel better, rather than your shoulder brushing the wall. Many people kind o turned their chairs to sit almost side on. It really is too cramped, hence you can't even keep your wine at the table.
Excellent service, food was brilliant. Reasonable prices for the quality. Highly recommended.
Amazing lunch for my friend's 40th.
Food was OUTSTANDING. Was worried venue wouldn't be 'special' enough but the atmosphere of this small informal restaurant made it perfect. Bustling the whole time we were there. Staff lovely & just the right amount of attention without you feeling rushed. Menu was divine we all had a variety of the veey reasonably priced menu. Could not fault anything. We were a party of 4. We all had 3 course..wine & tea after our meal & bill was £141. Brilliant value for fantastically fresh seasonal food all made to order.
Only small thing is due to size of restaurant there ia not much space around the tables if you're a larger build & only 1 wc which is very snug. No space for prams!!
The main things food, value for money & service were 5 star. Have already recommended to friends.
New menu for Spring. Outstanding and excellent value
This restaurant, for us, has been a ‘go to’ venue for some time. It truly is gorgeous. It doesn’t pride itself on fancy surroundings but what they offer in food, service and value is superb.
It was very good again, but probably not quite up to the standard of the meal I’ve had on my previous 2 visits, which were exceptional.
Our first visit to Chef’s Table after recommendation from a friend. Lunch set menu offered variety, food was spectacular. Intense flavours with attention to detail in presentation. A revelation - will definitely eat here again.
Really great food served by very pleasant & attentive staff. The room is a little basic & too bright
We had family from Scotland staying and they always want to eat here if we can get a table. As always the food and service exceeded our expectations. What a team!
Visited for midweek lunch with friends. First time at this restaurant but it won’t be our last. Gorgeous and refined food. Service was excellent - friendly, professional, efficient. Place is v clean. Decor quite dull but exceptional food and service outweigh this tiny drawback.
We had such a good evening celebrating my sons 25th Birthday at The Chefs Table. Delicious food enjoyed by our mixed party of meat eaters and a gluten intolerant vegan! The whole place has a great vibey atmosphere and excellent service from the friendly staff. I'll definitely be returning for a date night and to have a second taste of the delicious tangerine sorbet.
Always excellent food, intriguing combinations that cause explosions of flavour. Knowledgeable, friendly and attentive staff. Great wine list. It's a 80 mile round trip to come for a meal but we will be back!
A simply stunning place to eat. Fantastic food with fantastic service
Everyone should try the chefs table, food is always excellent, the staff are really friendly and go out of their way to help
The food at chefs table is fabulous . I would recommend it to anyone. The only issue is it is difficult to get a reservation as it’s so busy! Please expand!
We were fortunate enough to get a table the same day for dinner on a whim after deciding to head to Chester for the weekend. The restaurant is really central so walking from our hotel was easy, the food was brilliant really tasty (we had 3 courses and drinks) the waitresses really helpful and there was a really energetic vibe to the place. Would definitely recommend and will be going back in the future. Keep up the great work!
Fantastic food and great service. A very special place and a must visit if you come to Chester
Very good as always.
The food amazing, the service quick and helpful.
Is one of my favourite places for a fantastic meal in Chester.
Excellent food as always here. Service was a little slow but the staff are very nice people
Was too noisy, just need something to absorb the echo. Then is would be perfect.
Will Def be back.
Truly wonderful food, staff were fantastic and great value to.
Found this lovely little restaurant on trip advisor and so glad we booked (busy even on a Wednesdays)
Gorgeous little restaurant. Service was 10/10
2 girls waitressing were so lovely. After finding out I was pregnant made me a delicious mocktail
Both me and my partner found the food absolutely stunning (as a meat eater the vegetarian cauliflower starter was incredible) and the chef took time to talk to my partner about the food.
Reasonably priced. Could not recommend enough 10/10 x
Excellent food, wine and service. What more do you need?
This is my favourite restaurant. Food and service amazing, as always
My mum and myself had lunch at the Chefs table. The service was superb from the very beginning till the end. We didn't need to wait long for the food to arrive after we made our choices. The presentation was beautiful and the flavours were very well put together. I am not a expert but I would recommend it to anyone who wants a special lunch every now and then. Booking is essential but it is very easily made online. We had a fabulous time. Thank you for everyone working there!
Fantastic as usual, cant fault it in any way at all.
Fantastic food. Lively buzzy atmosphere
A friend and I enjoyed an amazing meal! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, wine and dessert. The staff was very attentive. We loved seeing the fresh herbs on the counter!
Great as always! My favourite restaurant in Chester. Good local seasonal produce and chefs who care about the meals they cook.
I hadn't been to the Chef's Table for over a year, and we enjoyed an amazing meal with a great red wine alongside, the cauliflower starter was especially delicious and beautifully presented. The menu offers more choice than I remember but the standards were as high as ever. We did find the service a little less attentive than elsewhere, but this is relatively small criticism and we will be back again much sooner this time...
Always fabulous, would recommend to anyone . Great for any special occasion or as a treat
Just perfect. The menu was cleverly structured and the choices were excellent. Particularly enjoyed the roasted mushroom, avocado starter.
Absolutely brilliant. From the moment we entered to the moment we left. The food was delicious and probably some of the best we've ever eaten. Will be going back again and again.
Absolutely delicious lunch thoroughly enjoyed by all. Could not fault anything and look forward to our next visit. A gem of a restaurant
Very small but cosy and relaxed interior. Excellent courteous service. The food is marvellous in its ingredients, cooking, and serving. I would gladly pay rather more for it than the present very reasonable prices. My only slight criticism would be the wine list which could be reviewed (perhaps some cru Beaujolais, New Zealand Pinot Noir etc) both in its contents and pricing. But this is an excellent restaurant managed by those who know how to run one. When I first went to it, I was just back from a holiday in the Perigord (famous for its good food) and the meal at the Chef's Table was far better than anything I had in France and I ate well there.
