Lovely evening catching up with friends, excellent service from all staff, food delicious and wine was very drinkable!
Thank you for a lovely evening - will return again!
Yes I would recommend it’s a lovely pub & restaurant but over priced & you pay extra for choice of veg, drinks are expensive too, service very good tho.
Went to celebrate my PhD graduation, had the chateaubriand and it was amazing, would wholeheartedly recommend!
The only negative we had was the wine. The Rioja on the list was unavailable and we were offered a
different one. This was fine until, on receiving the bill it was £9 more. We did not mention it as we
were with guests and just let it go. Hopefully, it was a one-off error. That apart, the meal and service
were very nice.
Excellent food. Amazing quality and flavours. Will definitely return.
Everything was absolutely perfect. Superb food and service and to round the afternoon off a band playing and singing Christmas music.
Definitely on my list to visit again!!!
Lovely food. Maybe a little overpriced for a Sunday roast. Would it really hurt to Chuck a couple more roasted spuds on. Would definitely eat off the main menu again
Had a lovely evening out with some friends. Staff were extremely welcoming, service was great and the food was seriously good - beautifully prepared and delicious. We all loved it.
Hi, I would like to say this was properly one of our worse dining dinner ever, the sharing board starter we good we enjoyed that we was hoping our mains would be on the same standards but when the mains arrived they was an absolute disappointment my lamb came pink and full of fat lams on it while I asked for it to be cooked medium as I hate eating pink meat I can’t even watch pink meat in front in y dinner table my misses pork belly turned up cooked pink and full of pig hair in the skin the chicken breast was away too dry I didn’t complain as we don’t really like to complain but this time I feel like I just wasted £110 the desert apple scramble was ok but the cheese cake didn’t test anything like a cheese cake it was a very disappointing evening and we will definitely not return I will also tell my family and friends how but experience we had on this place and it was our first time dining there we heard the advertisement on the radio and we thought we would give it a go but now we wish we never did as we don’t have money to throw away.
Excellent venue, Excellent food, Excellent staff! Couldnt recommend this place more!
Lovely staff, relaxing atmosphere and wonderful food!
I was extremely disappointed with my cheese potato topped pie. It was served in a small dish and bore little relation to any other pie I’ve eaten. It was not only very small in size but the filling was only average. Shockingly, it was served with no additional vegetables and looked lonely, silly and isolated sitting atop a large empty plate. I was obliged to pay £4.50 for a portion of green broccoli spears. Later that day, I suffered from a fairly violent stomach upset. I cannot be certain that the meal was to blame but that was the only food I’d eaten since a slice of toast at breakfast. I will not be returning to this pub.
Very impressed. Lovely environment, friendly staff and great food. Had the Sunday lunch. Best Sunday Lunch around here
Poor service by irritable staff who seem poorly trained.
We were given the wrong menus to start.
Water was spilled all over me by a waiter who plonked down plates in such a gussy that’s my glass of water ended up all over me.
The wine glasses were not topped up even once. I had to get up every time to go and fetch our bottle of wine from the ice bucket some way away.
A service charge was included for a table of 2 despite abysmal service. The food can be described as cooked.
Don’t go there!
Very quick service and excellent food - I'm particularly keen on the tempura crab but everything else was delicious too!
Great food, delicious wine, lovely setting and fantastic service. Thank you for a lovely evening will be back again soon.
Had a lovely steak - staff were awesome and overall really satisfied- can’t wait to go again
Always a pleasure to eat here. Friendliest welcome ever and food never faulters
the service was excellent and friendly, the Sunday roast probably one of the best, the ambience complimented the food and service.
Amazing food! Portion size was great and all six on our table thoroughly enjoyed. Good atmosphere and very friendly staff too!
Been here a few times before although this was the first time in roughly a year. As always great food, service and lovely atmosphere. Will be back again
We had the most amazing food, beautiful flavours as a vegetarian that doesn’t eat fish either I would’ve liked maybe one other option for the main, but less said food , staff , ambience was first class.
Amazing meal, amazing service, the best restaurant in Oxfordshire by far.
One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! Really lovely pub, super cosy with the real fire going. Friendly attentive staff. Brilliant.
Good great and service great. As always.
Had a lovely meal, good service with helpful, knowledgeable staff in a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Only downside was the automatic adding of a “discretionary” 12% tip. With no option to add more or less.
Good wholesome food with attentive service from very pleasant staff. Will be back in the near future.
Food was very tasty, but very expensive for a Sunday roast.
Consistently fantastic Sunday roasts! Great service, as always.
Lovely food and good service. It is more likely recommended to everyone. God for special event.
Great food and very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.
The Chequers at Burcot has a fantastic atmosphere, it is warm and welcoming. The staff are excellent and their attention to detail creates an enjoyable and relaxed dining experience. The food was truly amazing and we will of course be going back again soon.
Lovely country pub feel with excellent food, service was with a smile and comfortable, relaxed environment. Restaurant prices (rather than pub prices) which matches the quality of the food so no issues, their is a good range of cheaper options (circa £15 per dish) and then the more expensive Steaks plus sides which are circa £30 - £35 per dish. So all options covered, highly recommended.
Very disappointed, food was average or below and staff not concerned enough to ask if everything was okay.
Was not impressed that you have to order a side to go with the burger!!
We both enjoyed the evening very much, the food was great and so was the service. Really lovely place to eat.
Service and food was lovely. Would recommend this restaurant
Lovely evening in a 'nice place' with good food. Staff helped make the visit as good as it was.
A very pleasant evening of delicious food and wine at a cost reflecting this.
Lovely birthday meal with the family. The sharing roast platter was epic.
