Food always delicious , my only negative comment is a couple of the other diners were clearly breaking Covid rules and that made me very uncomfortable

Only the 2nd time dining here and the food was amazing yet again! Cressingham Crispy duck for starters the flavour we're outstanding, Tempura crab for main again outstanding flavours and presentation. We will be back.

This is such a lovely Gastro pub. The roast beef has to have been the best I’ve had in a long time, If not ever. I highly recommend eating here for Sunday lunch. The staff were extremely helpful and delivered a stand out service through out.

Very good food, nice setting and warm interior of the pub. Staff were good but maybe a bit too efficient. I felt the food was all produced a bit too fast after ordering and maybe felt a bit rushed at times.

This is only my 2nd visit. Just always wanted to go back for a scotch egg, as they are amazing!!
Took my Dad there for his special 70th birthday. And neither of us were disappointed. Nothing was too much trouble, especially as I'm a fussy eater. So was able to swap my veggies for an alternative. Thankyou so much for amazing food.

This is a lovely lovely place - great service, lovely ambience, superb food, had an extra ordinarily nice bottle of wine... we have been several times now and this remains the bench mark by which we assess other restaurants out there.... We went on day 1 of lock down release and it all worked seamlessly - all in all an absolutely delightful return to eating out :-)

It's a gastropub and would be perfect for a romantic occasion.
The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars in every category is I felt it was slightly too dark to read the menu comfortably and a little overpriced. Great for a special occasion.

Best Sunday Roast in Oxfordshire! The food is divine and the staff are fantastic. It is always such a treat to eat there!
Lovely food and the waitress was very friendly. It was a little dark and was difficult to read the menu in the very soft lighting . Food was delicious and the servings were perfect size.
We went on a Saturday night as a last minute treat and had a great meal, service was fantastic as was the atmosphere, highly recommend the Chequers, looking forward to our next visit.

The food and service was excellent. However the atmosphere suffered due to one really annoying loud individual who’s voice carried across most of the restaurant... a real shame as otherwise it was a great evening.
