Had a lovely lunch here, lamb shank was delicious and my dining companion had the salmon, both meals amazing. First time here and would definitely recommend.
Carvery was lovely great location very pretty setting lovely staff
excellent food and service will defiantly go again
We had a great carvery dinner at the Chequers, large portions and really delicious. There was lots of staff available and the wait times were fine. We did not feel rushed even though they were really busy, everyone was really polite. Will visit again soon
Beautiful old pub in a lovely village. Great food and Sunday lunch atmosphere.
The only criticism was that we were asked what we wanted to drink while we were just sitting down at our table to get settled. No time to think about it.
The rest of the meal and service was 5 star
What a lovely meal and would recommend it to anyone. The food was really good and hot, lovely atmosphere.
Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, good menu and very tasty food. Will definitely be visiting again.
Our second time here for a Sunday carvery & it didn’t disappoint.
Hot, tasty & delicious.
Service was great & staff friendly.
Incredible, amazing food and service was amazing.
Would happily eat there every day
Lovely food, carvery was great value, lots of it!
Lovely pub but look forever to take orders and when did they was all wrong. Seemed understaffed
BEST Sunday Carvery ever with wonderfully friendly & helpful staff - highly recommended :-)x
Excellent food, had the carvery. Service was very good. Have been several times and will again.
Terrible service, waited an hour for service at carvery and had to remind them we were still waiting.
Waited 30 minutes for first drink, wasn’t asked again if we wanted another drink the whole time we were there.
Guy serving carvery was fantastic - very friendly
The food was delicious and piping hot my only complaint is that they did not have enough staff on duty and we had to ask a few times for condiments and our drinks but overall a great place to eat with excellent staff.
I had steak and ale pie really nice , my date had fish and triple cooked chips , he said the chips were dry and he left them .
My pudding was a caramelised banana and waffle, lovely . Date had apple crumble tart , he said it was ok but very small .
Coffee machine was not working but instead of letting us know when they took the order , we was just left sitting there until we asked where our coffees were .
Staff were nice but seemed as if no one knew who was serving who and it wasn’t busy .
The pub is lovely and we will go back as it may just have been an odd night as just after Christmas.
Normal have a great all round experience but the service was terrible tonight waited 20 minutes to get a drinks order taken then mains arrived food was missing had to ask were the sides were they were quick to bring out but the whole service experience was not what we normally have had in the past and it was not busy so no excuse for the this. Food was great as normal
Fantastic way to spend Christmas Eve
Sunday lunch carvery - meat was good but roast potato and veg was over cooked and tasted like it was reheated
Awful, slow service, poor quality meal, yeah not going back
Great food…. Only thing was being sat by the door for outside seating
Food was lovely, great service, lots of staff. We sat in the conservatory and heating wasn’t working properly so was a bit chilly and we moved inside. But otherwise it’s a great place
Cozy pub great food really nice service a nice chilled out meal.
Lovely pub, good service but unfortunately the food wasn’t up to scratch, roast potatoes were hard in inside, veg was burnt & beef which was only option available was way too bloody for our 11 yr old & myself. Yorkshires & gravy were nice though.
Cosy pub, with conservatory and outdoor seating overlooking the River. Carvery was very good and nice friendly service
Lovely Sunday lunch in the new enclosed seating area looking out to the river
My friends said the pies were amazing. Shame they'd run out of mash!
Great food and really nice atmosphere. Only thing I didn’t like is the desk staff announced Mr and Mrs Dopson arrived. I went with my friend. I’m not married. They should not assume we were married or make that announcement. I was not happy with that. I don’t use titles and found further very offensive. For that reason I would think twice about going again.
Again a lovely meal , and we have booked there for our Christmas dinner
Great food, great service too. Live music was on the night we went , that was a bonus. Definitely be back lovely atmosphere.
Another great night with superbly attentive staff and great food - thank you
Lovely evening sitting in the new cosy outside area
We had a warm welcome at the Chequers in Aylesford and all the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. I would definitely recommend the Lamb and mint pie.
Great food and service
Great food & Service, will be most definitely visiting again soon.
first time at restaurant will definitely be going there again
Excellent food ,Service slow, Very busy & not COVID distance at all.
First time for the Sunday carvery... An excellent spread, four roast meats, scrummy roasties, delicious red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets... A lovely rosé prosecco and good value for money.
Lovely food and beautiful atmosphere and lovely old building
