Cod and Chips
Served with triple cooked chips and mushy peas
Served with salad and garlic bread
skinny fries, mixed salad, coleslaw, corn on cob
Lovely pub, good service but unfortunately the food wasn’t up to scratch, roast potatoes were hard in inside, veg was burnt & beef which was only option available was way too bloody for our 11 yr old & myself. Yorkshires & gravy were nice though.
Cosy pub, with conservatory and outdoor seating overlooking the River. Carvery was very good and nice friendly service
Lovely Sunday lunch in the new enclosed seating area looking out to the river
My friends said the pies were amazing. Shame they'd run out of mash!
Great food and really nice atmosphere. Only thing I didn’t like is the desk staff announced Mr and Mrs Dopson arrived. I went with my friend. I’m not married. They should not assume we were married or make that announcement. I was not happy with that. I don’t use titles and found further very offensive. For that reason I would think twice about going again.
Again a lovely meal , and we have booked there for our Christmas dinner
Great food, great service too. Live music was on the night we went , that was a bonus. Definitely be back lovely atmosphere.
Another great night with superbly attentive staff and great food - thank you
Lovely evening sitting in the new cosy outside area
We had a warm welcome at the Chequers in Aylesford and all the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. I would definitely recommend the Lamb and mint pie.
Great food and service
Great food & Service, will be most definitely visiting again soon.
first time at restaurant will definitely be going there again
Excellent food ,Service slow, Very busy & not COVID distance at all.
First time for the Sunday carvery... An excellent spread, four roast meats, scrummy roasties, delicious red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets... A lovely rosé prosecco and good value for money.
Lovely food and beautiful atmosphere and lovely old building
very nice cant complan bout anything 10/10 for us
Lovely Pub, with very friendly and helpful staff. We sat outside and was kept warm with heaters above us.
The food was nice with big portions, we had the Sunday roast.
Food did get cold quickly sitting outside, but overall was good.
The only disappointment was the desert. I had the Eton Mess, which cost £6. It looked nice, but was just squirty cream, a few strawberries cut up and meringue. No ice cream, which I expected, so very sickly. My son had the Chocolate brownie, which he said was very nice, but again £6 for a tiny piece of cake and ice cream.
Despite being a busy evening, our food and drinks came quickly and the service was good and friendly.
Great overall thanks
Great pub grub. Quiet Monday but with pie night being on that brought a few more people in.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Food was great. Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back . Beautiful setting .
Sat down and left for 20 minutes without having drinks taken, I had to call the waitress over to order, waitress sat another table and took drink order straight away. Lipstick on my glass which was replaced but had to go to the bar to do so as was ignored when trying to get the waitresses attention. Food was good though.
Was my second time going and second time with bad service.
The service was pretty poor and slow. The waitress was not terribly polite on entering or when taking our order.
Ordered 4 breakfasts and took an hour between ordering to receiving meaning our coffees were well finished. The food was really tasty and well cooked but cold, the pots and skillets they served in were cold so cooled the food down quickly.
Had to ask for butter and no milk alternatives available for lattes/cappuccinos etc.
Food was lovely. Waitresses were very polite and friendly. Just a shame we waited over an hour to get our food.
Delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Went that extra mile which I appreciated
absolutely fantastic, amazing brunch and stunning views
Customer service took forever. Waited for half hour on arrival to order a drink
Lovely food (carvery) although not very hot.
Service so so.
We were returning customers and slightly disappointed.
We will try again in a few months as we have previously thoroughly enjoyed it.
The fire was on and the place was a nice level of busy. The service staff were timely and polite
Good food and good service a lovely place for an informal meal
Great atmosphere. Staff were lovely, but a bit stretched. Had to wait an hour before being able to order food, which was lovely.
We have a lovely meal on our Anniversary and the food was really great and we felt really comfortable in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and happy to have us there.
Had to ask to have a dessert as the staff were slow in getting to us to take our order. But having said that, we had a great evening.
I originally booked a table outside but the weather changed so I called ahead and we were then able to have a table inside which was really good. The food was lovely and the service was very efficient. I would recommend The Chequers and have been lucky enough to go back again since making this booking and enjoy some more lovely food.
Food was not what we'd hoped from a pub, it was more of a cafe quality, which was a shame.
Service was slow overall but when we asked for the bill, the table was cleared within a couple of minutes, making us feel 'kicked out'.
When asked 'which one shall I go for between x and z, the answer was 'I like x, it's quite nice'. Well x wasn't great when you're used to homemade food. Frozen sweetcorn and chips and very salty mayo/coleslaw.
Loverly setting and good food at a sensible price.
Good food but very slow service. Value for money okay.
Staff were extremely helpful food was excellent perfect evening!
Always greeted with a friendly smile. Service is prompt and waiting staff attentive. Food has never failed to deliver. The roasts on a Sunday are such good value for money Outside seating area is great now too and if it gets cold there is cover snd heating.
Shame, table booked 8.15pm still no food at 9.35pm .. no apology, no update, nothing. Hospitality - 0.
Left, went home, had toast
Apparently they were plating it up as we left - coincidence.. had we been told there was 1hr 30 minute delay with food we wouldn’t have bothered ordering. Left a comment on their FB page and got blocked
