The Chequers Inn Ratings and Reviews
Lovely evening with friends. Excellent service, food and atmosphere. We all had the tasting menu. Couldn't fault it ! The beef dripping butter with brioche bun and the yuzu ice cream were particularly special.
Thank you to all the staff , we will definitely return on another occasion .
On arrival we were made to feel welcome. The service and food were excellent. The food is slightly different to the norm but beautifully presented and delicious. The wine choice available is very good. An enjoyable way to spend our anniversary. Will definitely be visiting again.
We really welcomed the chef's personal involvement. He moved us to an even nicer table without being asked to do so. He explained the menu and checked back with us during the meal to ensure that all was well. The food was excellent - as was the (rather pricey) wine.
The tasting menu is a must at this gorgeous village pub. The menu rotates monthly and the creations coming out of the kitchen are like little bites of heaven on a plate. The accompanying wine pairings round the meal out perfectly.
I can't wait for summer to come round for the perfect excuse to pop round for a pint of cider outside!
We were greeted when we arrived and given a choice of table. We had an interesting discussion about the wine wine we chose when it was served. The menu is different, not too big but a good selection. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was excellent. We will certainly return for another meal.
I'd never been here before so my booking was based solely on previous reviews. I'm so glad I did! Just a small note on the booking form that the lunch was for a birthday and there was a gift waiting on the table. My mum was delighted. There was an excellent choice of food and wine - definitely the place where you looked at all plates being taken out to diners. The staff were lovely too. From the moment we arrived until we left they were attentive without being fussy - so friendly.
Really was a great lunch in a lovely setting. I have no hesitation in recommending The Chequers Inn.
Set in a beautiful rural location the restaurant and bar have been tastefully decorated in keeping with the building. The Food here is exceptional and well worth a visit to experience and once seated in the restaurant the service impeccable. An absolute gem!
