Super gastro pretty pub. It was a very busy Sunday lunch but the service was efficient and friendly, the food excellent and prices fair. Interior decor and table setting very nice.

We chose to eat inside even though the weather was lovely so it was quite quiet This did not spoil our evening There was a good choice on the menu & some alternatives for items not available The staff were fabulous We thoroughly enjoyed each course

Three of us and two dogs weather just ok to sit outside which we really enjoyed but a table was held for us just in case inside which was good. Prompt, friendly and efficient service followed by two roasts and a fish and chips all thoroughly appreciated. Plenty if parking is a plus

Had a very pleasant Saturday lunch in the garden meeting up with old friends. Staff were friendly and attentive and very accommodating that 2 of our party were quite late due to being held up in traffic. Food was very good though menu is limited - that didn't bother us but it's worth noting. Look forward to visiting again

Booked table for 3pm to be advised very busy so no roast potatoes, no chips. We went with the roasts (beef and chicken) and within 5-10mins our food came out. To replace the roast spuds we got a cauliflower cheese piled high, parsnips, aubergine, not hot. Fair enough the price was reduced, £5 off the chicken and £6 off the beef. Doesn’t match up to last Summer Sunday roasts. Was disappointed. The dessert ordered the Strawberry Eton mess. Came out and not one single fresh strawberry which is what I’d expect just a strawberry sauce. Very “hungry horse” style. Sadly this pub is off my Sunday Roast list.

The portions were much smaller than expected but they were quick to add more to the plate when asked, but it shouldn’t have been a necessary request. Thus value vs price was below par.

We had a very pleasant dinner at The Chequers. The food was excellent, service was relaxed, friendly and efficient. The restaurant was fairly quiet but as we ate early that was not surprising. All in all a money well spent.

A lovely spot We were made to feel welcome with our big hairy dog Log fires nicely busy Service was perfect attentive but gave us space The San wishes with a cup of soup were delicious Highly rating the chicken and bacon special !

Lovely pub, lovey staff, - we were there on Good Friday, and although it was quite busy, and they were obviously short-staffed, they remained pleasant and friendly. The menu was certainly sufficient for our needs, - maybe a little pricey, - but well worth it.

Arrived 12.30. Two dishes ‘off’ from the menu already because they hadn’t finished cooking. Left with fish & chips , plaice and not much else. Fish good, chips awful. Friendly service but wouldn’t go again.
