Another lovely meal with excellent service from all the staff. Really good value for money.
Cannot fault this restaurant. Excellent food, service and atmosphere what more could you ask for. Looking forward to going back.
2nd visit here and was not disappointed. Food is great, value for money but my only complaint would be the food was not that hot, it is an issue for me that if my food arrives only just warm sending it back delays the meal for everyone or I end up eating alone because everyone else has finished!
Fish and chips were very good batter crisp. Opted for ice cream desert which was also good quality. Quieter than our last visit so noise level was just right. Service was excellent
A brilliant place to eat. The staff are professional, attentive, polite and friendly.
The food is delicious and beautiffully presented. Everytime I dine here the place never disappoints. I visit The Cherry Tree for lots of different occasions as it is such a welcoming place and the menu offers excellent value for money.
Great quality food and excellent service. Thought the portion sizes were a bit mean for the cost
Visited for my daughters birthday . Had some lovely cocktails to celebrate. Waiter very attentive, food excellent. Would definitely visit again.
Been several times and never been disappointed . Rare to find somewhere that is so consistent with its cooking.
Service lacked waited over 30 minutes to come over and take our order for deserts so we left without
The cherry tree never fails to please, the food is exceptional, the staff are organised helpful and professional. I would highly recommend to friends, well worth the drive, the Sunday lunch is great value and the best iv eaten out.
Loved the meal and pre and after cocktails in the bar
Always a warm welcome, food is to a very high standard, overall a great place to visit wether it's for 2 people a group or families.
Really enjoyed have been previously for family meals and enjoyed my daughter and son in law love the Cherry Tree. This time it was a gift from my daughter for an intimate meal for 2 for our Ruby Wedding. Cannot FAULT in any way.
Made one of our frequent visits to the Cherry Tree with friends,Food as always delicious, usually busy even at lunch times but Tuesday 2nd Oct evening was fairly quiet .Only negative was the fact they only had fillet steak on the menu,no sirloin or ribeye but the food here is consistently good ,okay starters and sweets a bit pricey but you never go away and say "Wasn't too good tonight was it " it always maintains a consistently high standard
Dinner with friends.
A very nice experience. jack was an absolute star, with attentive service and non intrusive.
The menu was really varied and tasty.
Another successful experience !
Never write reviews but this deserves one as it was superb.
Scotch egg starter was amazing!
Lovely evening and very attentive service. Would go again.
Lovely food and fantastic service yet again. Always happy and never had a bad meal there.
I was disappointed at the menu. I had expected to be spoilt for choice but I found myself struggling to find an option that took my fancy. There were a lot of beef options that seemed similar. I chose smoked haddock risotto which was ok, but got a bit samey and I got bored half way through it. I had pate with brioche to start and found the brioche too sweet alongside the pate. It didn't really work for me. For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding which was nice but I had seen photos of elaborate desserts so expected something fancy, instead it was pretty standard and could have done with more ice cream. Overall I was underwhelmed and don't think I would go again.
Have been to the CT a few times now but my last visit was disappointing as the menu had been reduced, the only steak was fillet and had a section for sandwiches which is good for lunch but not at 8pm
Outstanding food and first class, efficient staff.
Don't see how this restaurant could possibly improve.
The only downside is that it is perhaps too noisy and"kid friendly". Solve that, and they would be nearing Michelin level.
Visited for a birthday meal. First impression was good however our starters were cold and my husbands didn’t even appear to be cooked properly, we sent it back but no one apologised we just got told it would be 10 minutes until another was ready. We refused the offer and was not charged, but felt really disappointed that we didn’t receive an apology.
Amazing food and cocktails and great service we will be back
Delicious as always, lovely service but the room gets very loud - quiet conversation impossible.
Beautiful as always , food and service is brilliant we go regularly and always have a great experience
Had a good time at our stay overall food was to good standard would be visiting again shortly
Great food as always. Service second to none and always a good atmosphere
My wife and I took my sister for Sunday lunch on her birthday. Had main courses and desserts. The mains dishes were very tasty and well presented. For dessert we chose the trio of desserts which was good value between three of us and allowed us to taste different ones. Only slight downside was the noise level but it was Sunday afternoon and there were several large parties dining.
Lovely place very nicely renovated food lovely service very good staff nice and friendly just what you need late Sunday afternoon no stress nice relaxed meal before the dreaded Monday morning
Third visit and never disappointed. Food excellent certainly one of the better restaurants within a 10 mile radius of Wigan, will not hesitate to go again
Lovely evening, everything was perfect, really enjoyable evening, first time here definitely be booking again.
First class food, drinks and service as always
The food is ok, 2 things let the meal down. We had goats cheese bonbons with walnuts, beetroot and some salad. The amount of walnut was equivalent to a quarter of on walnut broken in to 4 or 5 pieces, it let the dish down. The other disappointment was the size of the fish with fish & chip dish, I really thought I’d gotten a child’s portion it was tiny!
The staff are great and attentive & the waiter took my friendly banter well about the size the fish.
Lovely food , just a bit expensive for what you get . Lovely place though .
In all the times visiting this restaurant I have never had a bad experience. The food the service the atmosphere is 1st class . Fabulous restaurant
Fantastic food & service will definitely be returning soon
Visited this restaurant several times in the last 12 months with family and friends and always had a great time with excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.
Great food and great service. Just what you need really.
A major disappointment this time. As we arrived at 7pm on a Wednesday evening the Bar area was bustling with people attending a Funeral Wake. They were very noisy and there was obviously a confrontation taking place between the guests.
We were early for our meal as we wanted a Cocktail in the Bar first. We said this to our “greeter” who just said “ok”. However, when we got into the Bar to look for seats there was only one table and it was exceptionally noisy and we were next to a Mum feeding her young son!
We quickly asked to go to our table.
The noise levels throughout the evening were unacceptably loud mainly due to the acoustics caused by the wooden tables and floors. The noise just travels and it is difficult to have a normal conversation.
Thankfully, the food was excellent albeit a bit slow in arriving. I must give credit to the older guy who was our waiter/server. He was excellent and worked very hard.
Overall, the night was spoilt by the noise and the open hostility of the big party in the Bar as we arrived.
Lovley food. Good wine Worth tjWorthat bit extra money.
Family friendly enviroment and good service
