The multiple award-winning Cinnamon Club in St James’ is like no other Indian restaurant you’ve visited. Set in the former Old Westminster Library – a Grade II listed building still with books lining the walls - it has a grandeur and character that perfectly compliments its outstanding food. The team of 18 chefs, headed up by Vivek Singh, have a creative approach and a distinctive knack of layering flavours with stunning presentation. Great food. Interesting combination of spices and other ingredients. Venison A1. As was platter of desserts for sharing. Ambience warm - spaces generous so conversations remained confined to table. Clearing of plates/glasses overly quick - kept having to hold on / grab back when just having a pause. This made it feel as if we were being rushed (which I don’t think was the case). For this reason only a 4 not a 5.

An outstanding restaurant delivering Indian cuisine at its very best. The menu offers dishes that demonstrate flavour and quality at every level; the lamb was beautiful. Lots of variety with breads, sauces and chutneys built to compliment each aspect. An extensive drinks/wine list that offers wonderful Indian wine. And to top it all, the welcome from the minute you walk in the door sets the perfect tone for your visit.

Another splendid meal. The Bollyflower vegetarian dish was a marvel to be hold. Cauliflower cheese will never seem the same again. And the black cardamom crème brûlée raises the bar. Service as immaculate as ever. Looking forward to my next visit already.

We were a group and had the tasting menu. A few of our party had allergies (gluten free) and although they were catered for, bits of the meal were just removed rather than replaced. Guests felt a little cheated. We had advised the restaurant the week before so plenty of notice to sort something. Although 8 courses, a few left hungry and felt the "main course" of lamb or chicken would have benefitted from some extra veg. The food that did come out was delicious but just not enough. The staff were all very knowledgeable and polite but none of them smiled. Not sure if this is part of the ambience but the whole thing didn't make for a warm setting. I would recommend to a friend but hesitatingly.

This is far and away the best Indian I have had in London and is one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere. What's more is that I ordered the vegan tasting menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We arrived 5 minutes prior to our booking time but had to wait more than thirty minutes for our table. There was no wine list available in the bar, the drinks were over priced, service was very slow, the starters were really nice but mains were lukewarm and would have been sent back had we not waited so long for them. The chicken was tough. This was a repeat visit so disappointing to see that this establishment has managed to fall back in almost every respect yet charge much more for a poorer experience.

Hugely overpriced; CC did not live up to its prestigious reputation. Food was average at best with all the meat we ordered (chicken, lamb and pheasant) being dry and over cooked. The pheasant actually contained a large, disgusting blood clot which was rather off putting. Service was hectic and badly co-ordinated. On arrival we were made to wait in a freezing cold and shoddy looking foyer as there was “no space at the bar”. Once inside we were extremely rushed (three courses in less than an an hour). Our drinks and courses didn’t arrive together and staff, whilst generally professional, were not overly friendly. One waitress actually rudely walked away without a word when I told her my pheasant was full of blood. Finally, when booking we were asked if it was a special occasion. We were celebrating our engagement which happened earlier that day; unfortunately the restaurant did nothing to make our night special. While I’d never have the audacity to expect any kind of special treatment, if you’re going to ask about that at booking then there should at least be some acknowledgement of it. Overall, a really disappointing experience which did somewhat take the shine off our special day. Not worth the price - would recommend Colonel Saab in Holborn for anyone looking for an alternative premium Indian.

I have enjoyed lunch on a couple of occasions at this venue. On a very cold day in London there was a constant draught as they had a private party and we could keep feeling the draught. Also, usually service was excellent but on this occasion it was really poor - if it had not been for the maître de then the whole experience would have been ruined. I hope that they try and employ staff who look happy rather than miserable. Overall for a Michelin starred restaurant it was pretty poor however, it wouldn't stop me going again.

My first time at Cinnamon Club and what an experience! We had the Festive Tasting menu and every course was exquisite. The Garam Masala Christmas Pudding is amazing. The restaurant has the feel of a London Members' Club/Library. The service is super friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Food decent but service poor. Staff reached in front of our faces and even across two guests to serve, never checked in during the meal nor topped up wine glasses. A shame - much potential for a beautiful setting. A bit more front of house training would bump up the experience.

Food was pleasant, but tepid in temperature. Nowhere near as good as Chutney Mary or Tamarind. Service was dreadfully slow. For an 8:00pm booking, we didn't get any food -or even wine - till 9:00pm. The waiter acknowledged the situation and said "this isn't us". Sadly it is. And I won't be coming back.

The food was good. Unfortunately the whole experience was not up to par. The service was erratic, negligible and chaotic. We had to wait for drinks for a very long time. When the wrong drinks came the food had gone cold. Promised sides only arrived after the food was already eaten. The many problems with the service were not adequately solved. No explaining “we are all new and do not know what we are doing” or apologies offered. Very unfortunate as one may expect impeccable service from a restaurant of this standing.

Lovely environment and nice (though not amazing) food. What disappointed me hugely however was the fact that , from start to finish, we were constantly hurried by the waiters and manager, and ultimately actually asked to leave (we were there 2 and a quarter hours in total and spent £180 between the three of us so we were hardly taking the mickey in how long we stayed). Don’t think I’ve ever experienced this to that degree in any restaurant. Would not recommend as a result.

This was our second visit. It did not disappoint. I had the set lunch menu which was fab! The choice was excellent and the taste was incredible - great job, Chef! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and am looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!

Went with 2 friends and we ordered 3 main courses and a number of starters and sides, including rice. Was disappointed that the waiter didn't warn us that all dishes came with rice so we didn't need to order rice separately. The chicken and lamb dishes were excellent, especially the keema. But the spicy tofu and morels didn't really do it for us - I wouldn't order that again.

The lunch menu was good value for money without the alcohol, water and flat bread. Everything tasted fresh and flavoursome, seasoned well without being overly chilli.

The food was absolutely delicious and overall the cost was reasonable given the setting and the quality of the food. The service was a little hit and miss, waiting ages for some things and being rushed for others although all of the staff were very friendly
