Excellent - service and food brilliant. Was lovely to be the four of us having a good time and being thoroughly spoiled…can’t wait to come back. So much of the menu to be tried thank you Cinnamon Club
This was a nice special occasion restaurant situated in an old London library with some of the books still on the shelves. The service was good and the food was as is expected in this type of restaurant. However the men's' room cleanliness was adequate but not up to a very high standard expected from this type of establishment and only one of the wash basins was working.
Delicious food as always and a great buzz. Never fails to please
The food and service was great! It is a great place to have a work dinner. Hari the waiter was so lovely and explained the dishes really well!
They seemed to have invested a lot into students and getting young people into the industry which is awesome however can cause a little bit of a delay with the orders, however we were willing to wait.
I have been receiving raving comments all day today from my team explaining how they had such a wonderful night.
Thank you Cinnamon Club!
Food was generally good but one dish (Cauliflower) was poor. Staff didn't really want to know!
Central location , good portion sizes , perfect setting.
The celebration menu for September was excellent. The restaurant showed creativity in menu design [simpler dishes -hence 4 stars - but good portion control to produce a satisfying tasting menu/ feast], cooking [quality ingredients skilfully -cooked and artistically presented] and value for money [set price]. Everything we had come to expect from The Cinnamon Club was in evidence. Service was friendly, welcoming and skilful. We had a delightful lunch in every respect; for us it was very pleasurable return to an old favourite and a relief to see this good restaurant emerge unscathed from the recent difficulties of the lockdowns.
The Butter Chicken special was outstanding. As was the lamb starter.
One of the best India food in London and we know our food well and have eaten at most fine dining places. Smaller portions so order well.
Been a while but good to be back on a busy Monday evening
The staff were very attentive, despite waiting for 5 minutes to be shown to our table as the maitre de was on the phone. The food was exquisite as was the wine. We had salmon followed by salt marsh lamb the flavours and textures were perfect. With a bottle of wine, the bill was £147, which I thought was excessive
Have eaten here more than a dozen times & it never disappoints both food & service are very good as well as a good wine list. The only negative is that is is very noisy as all surfaces are hard
Celebration for our Danish niece's 18th birthday so a family gathering of 8 with Danish relatives we haven't seen since before Covid. The food, drink and service were all great but our table was disappointing given I'd booked over a month in advance. We were in a darkened sub area which was incredibly hot and tricky for us to chat as a group. It was still a lovely evening, just wish we'd been in the main room.
Not a bad food but not wow also
I’ll not come back again
Had a fabulous meal. Food was fantastic and service was superb. Will definitely return.
The waiter suggested that he would pick 4 starters and 4 main courses, creating almost a tasting menu for the 4 of us. His suggestions were a gastronomic delight washed down by Bengali gin and tonics- again his suggestion. Such outstanding service. Unfortunately we didn’t get his name. We are regular diners and this has reinforced our belief in the restaurant.
Has been before but this was the first time post covid .
Was happy with level of social distancing and sanitizer available .
The ambience and setting is really nice ( old disused library still with books and cases around the edge.
We were directed to a table that was on the path of the entry point , m
Food was different and really delicious. I had the salmon starter and the lamb main course and they were both great choices. We tasted each other’s dishes and the kingfish starter and chicken mains were also also delicious. The selection of tandoori breads was great as was the garlic and coriander naan although for 3 of us the assorted bread AND 2 garlic and coriander naans was too much. The waiter was great - gave us great advice and sorted out pistachio kulfi for me even though it was only on the tasting menu. He was also really friendly and engaged with us. We thought it was really good value considering the experience and the quality of food and service. It was actually not a special occasion but there was not space for family meal as an option.
Great food, great service great venue, great experience. Would definitely reccomend a visit.
Fantastic experience with the tasting menu and flight of wine. Exquisite food and impeccable service. Worth it every time I visit.
The food was excellent as ever. However service was pretty slow and waited a long time for our drinks.
Despite telling them it was a treat for my wifes birthday they managed to forget this. Made more frustrating and obvious as the adjacent table was an anniversary and they got made a fuss of. As did another table celebrating a birthday.
This was our 1st visit to the Cinnamon Club.
How refreshing not to have overbearing music being played. Convivial atmosphere in the authentic surroundings of a former library. Nothing contrived here.
The food was delicious. I enjoyed the contemporary and lighter style of the dishes. The accompanying, recommended wines were beautiful.
The evening was slightly marred by slow and at times forgetful service. Our Amuse Bouche arrived at the same time as the Starters (and only after we had requested them). The Dessert Menu had also not been updated so that I didn’t receive the dessert that I ordered. This was a bit disappointing and unexpected in a restaurant of this calibre.
The restaurant amended the bill to reflect this.
I can’t give a simple yes or know as to whether I would recommend this restaurant. I probably would but with a little clarification.
The atmosphere is lovely but my pork belly was over cooked which I was very disappointed appointed about! The starter was delicious though.
Excellent food let down by exceptionally poor service. After being seated our table was ignored for 30 mins. In order to get service, we had to approach the reception desk. Not one member of waiting staff ever looked in our direction - they appear to be trained to ignore our table.
The tasting menu was a real treat, and the courses were well spaced.
We asked a passing member of staff for our bill at the end of the meal. When we realized we had waited a further 20 mins for the bill we approach the reception desk again - this was the only way to gain any attention.
When leaving we ask to leave a compliant, the staff were unable to provide any contact details - all in all the service was hugely disappointing.
Fabulous. We had the set menu and it was outstanding. Highly recommend.
excellent as always. Finest ingredients, wonderful spices.
Good, imaginative Indian cuisine in the unique setting of an old library. Class.
We had the tasting menu, which was beautifully balanced. Every element of each course was delicious. It was a Tuesday night so not particularly busy, but there was still a lovely atmosphere and the senior staff were very solicitous.
First visit after lockdown. The ambience remains outstanding - a quiet dinner in a spacious library with good room between tables. The food overall was excellent though I was not entirely convinced that the fusion of east and west quite worked with the desserts. The wine list was comprehensive, including some Indian wines. The service was good but nothing exceptional. I think the staff appeared a little overworked and the usual warmth and smile was not quite there. The dinner was not cheap but we will return for that special occasion.
I have yet to be disappointed eating at the Cinnamon club. The food is superb, the service good and each time I have taken friends for the first time they too have enjoyed it. A wonderful place to eat..
Very expensive Chardonnay ordered and served not only late half way through the starters but also not chilled and was warm
It was refused and left to chill which a significant reason we would not recommend your restaurant
A wonderful night with wonderful food, service and environment!
Saturday set menu was nicely presented but unexceptional. A bit disappointing.
Great service and food, Vivek Singh and the Restuarant staff are really accommodating.
Great venue and high quality food. The lamb and chicken main courses are outstanding. Highly recommended
Cinnamon Club is set in a wonderful old British library setting near Westminster Abbey. We had the early sitting as we had a show to go to. The food was wonderful and tasty, with good cocktails and wine. It was a bit quiet as it was the early seating but got more atmospheric later in the meal.
Have been going here for years. One of our favourite places to eat modern Indian cuisine Usually excellent. This time not.
Just enjoyed the best ever dinner at the Cinnamon Club, as a customer since it opened 20 years ago. My guest and had the tasting menu and it was superb: faultless, elegant, modern cooking using the finest ingredients, with flair, subtlety and perfect balance - seriously, I loved every morsel! The staff were wonderful too - just the right amount of attentiveness, swift discreet service, with just enough description of each course to stimulate the appetite, leaving us to experience the treats for ourselves. Looking forward to returning soon....
PS Do try the wonderful selection of gins, and I recommend the spiced apricot Bellini - delicious!
Wonderful meal. Great setting. Well priced. A winner.
Dear Andrew, Thank you so much for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your meal at our restaurant. We hope we will see you again soon. Kind regards, The Cinnamon Club Team
It may be the post pandemic difficulty hospitality business is in, but it took 40mins to take the order and fix the shaky table, reminded of 3 times; starters came in - no drinks served, wrong bill at the end. You would expect venues like cinnamon club to care more for their reputation. Food (tasting menu) was OK, but too expensive for what it was. The place was quite busy, maybe a la carte option is better, but service would still be the same.
