Very disappointing meal. My £30 lobster starter was raw and I complained - rather than receiving a new starter they grilled the meat I’d pulled out to show it was raw and put it back in the original shell which only half filled the lobster.
Service was slow, our main course plates sat for 20 mins after we had finished before being taken.
Was a shame as I had been looking forward to eating there.
At this price point I just expect much better.
Great ambience and food is truly superb. Lovely service
Disappointing service, cold, no personality, late to be seated, late to get the bill, heard manager swearing. Was very disappointing considering this was a birthday meal.
Great food and remembered it was for a birthday treat
Food was lovely. Service was a bit lacking, especially the drink service.
Service was very busy and slow moving to start but we enjoyed a couple drinks at the table before tasting menu courses arrived. Once the first course arrived, everything else came in a very prompt manner. Apart from this, every mouthful was incredible. All of the flavors, finely crafted and beautifully presented; London restaurant tasting menu was divine and satiating. Can’t wait to go again.
Absolutely brilliant meal with superb service. The 20th anniversary tasting menu is a delight. Thanks for making my 50th so memorable.
Gorgeous meal, beautiful venue. However the toilets are looking tired and it’s a shame you have to walk pass cardboards boxes on the way to the toilet. It looked very untidy.
A brilliant meal and service. Despite it being a busy evening, the team were very friendly and the food was divine!
Lovely ambience and food. Waiters could’ve been more helpful/friendlier
Food was really enjoyable and a really different menu from the norm. Service was really slow and no waiter seemed interested or even wanted to be there.
However, main complaint, after paying our bill realised I had been overcharged by £35.00 for an extra main meal (venison) that had not been ordered. We did have a prawn main and a venison main, but as there was only two of us, not three mains! I have sent emails to the restaurant, both via their inquiries box on their website and direct to their email address. No reply received and no contact made or refund received. Table 11. Wednesday 20/10/2021. Extremely disappointing response i.e. nothing at all. Won't be returning, unless this matter is resolved.
Excellent food, service and wine - as always! However, The Cinnamon club seems to have gone away from pre- dinner drinks, which is a shame. We went early to have a drink but were encouraged to straight to the table. A sign of the times perhaps….
Really excellent food from the early bird set menu. Unfortunately a very long delay in serving dessert. It’s hard to see why given that nothing on the dessert plate needed cooking.
I tried London Restaurant Festival Menu in a comfortable dining environment. Staff are all friendly. The food are fantastic perfect.
My husband booked this for a birthday surprise and it was outstanding - such a nice setting, relaxed ambience and the smells emanating from the kitchen gave us an idea of what was in store for us that night: foodie heaven! We enjoyed the wine pairing with the taster menu and every course delivered something different, unusual and 100% satisfying. Will definitely be back again, hopefully to try the lunch menu.
Our 1st experience after a recommendation was not what we were expecting. Our table was booked for 18:45 for a group of 8 people. The choice of menu was poor especially for vegetarians...and the portions for starters was extremely disappointing. For the mains the only dish we can say was acceptable was the signature Delhi Butter Chicken and the other mains were OK apart from the vegetarians which was poor. The executive chef Vivek Singh did come out and speak with us, apologiesed which was appreciated and he offered us desserts and also said next time dinner was on him so will have to wait and see if when we book again...
We had arranged to have pre dinner cocktails in the bar area but there was no bar person available and we was advised to go straight to our table.
The service was very good but the food to table was very slow.
Overall very enjoyable, love the venue, food absolutely delicious (had the vegetarian tasting menu). Drinks quite slow. I was expecting to be told what each dish was as it was brought out, as this is what usually happens when doing a tasting menu, but we weren't given any information about the food. Despite this I would definitely recommend and would go again.
Food was excellent.
Customers wearing jeans shouldn’t be allowed in. Especially slashed jeans and tee shirts. Should be smart wear only.
Well done to those that made the effort to wear a shirt and trousers.
Best Indian food I have ever had at a restaurant. Sophisticated, experimentation of flavours that pays off, all against a lovely setting.
Great food, but nearly 20 mins between courses. For an 8 course tasting menu this was too slow. Food was delicious !
Amazing food in an extraordinary building. A wonderful meeting with the amazing chef, Mr Vivek Singh
Special experience 20th year cinnamon club taster meal, excellent well balanced menu which we enjoyed immensely
Great food and atmosphere albeit food came out a bit slow. Quality very good in lovely library environment. Staff at reception were incredibly kind helping me accommodate fitting a large item which they didn't have to do! Overall really lovely experience - brought a client and would happily do so again.
Unfortunately this visit was not good in a number of ways.
Food flavours were great, but the starter was tepid and difficult to decide if it was being served cold or hot. Main course was warm, but we had to ask for our sides to be delivered to the table.
We weren't the only table to send the food back being cold.
Drinks were slow to come with the aperitif being served after the wine was poured and with the starter being served.
The impression was that the Front of House service was not organised or keeping up with the kitchen output.
The acoustics means a busy restaurant makes it loud and difficult to hold a conversation with your guests.
I was looking for a special restaurant for my partner's birthday and chose the Cinnamon Club as he loves Indian food. We had the tasting menu and all the courses were exceptional and delicious. Unfortunately, that cannot be said of the service which apart from a pleasant welcome and a smile being shown to our table initially, the rest of the team were surly and indifferent. My booking via OpenTable was at a slightly lower price than stated on the menu but that was ignored and the bill came at the higher price which I had to query; there was no apology, I was just told to pay £10 less! On the reservation I had mentioned it was my partner's birthday but that was ignored which was a shame as a 'happy birthday' from the staff at the least would have been nice. Whilst the food was superb, I expect more in the way of customer service from a restaurant of the Cinnamon Club's calibre and in future would chose another restaurant to try rather than return especially for a special occasion.
Excellent food in a wonderful historic setting for our perfect 45th anniversary
Was wonderful! Excellent food, ambiance and service!
Relaxing family experience
Another amazing meal. Service is fantastic, food is amazing and all in such a lovely setting. It was our anniversary too and the staff brought us out a lovely personalised dessert and card. Perfect end to our evening. Thank you again and would definitely recommend to a friend. We have been here a few times and always enjoy our meal and evening here
Uninspiring and slow service, clearly short staffed during a busy Saturday lunch service
Fantastic food, as expected. What wasn't expected was the 20 minute wait to see a menu, and the amount of dust on the rear of the booth in which we sat. The perfunctory attitude of the sommelier was also less than expected.
The best Indian meal I have ever eaten
Great food - nicely suggested by the waiter and good wine and drinks selection to go with it.
Great atmosphere and character. The food was exceptional. It was a little pricey but worth it.
Set menu for group. It was Okay. Firstly we thought we will be sitting in the library but were ushered upstairs into a frankly a drab seating area, which needed a revamp and light bulbs replacing in the spot light, not in keeping with the grand room down stairs that we were expecting.
The service started off well and was friendly, but grabbing attention of the servers got harder as it got busy (2 servers for approx 30 people in dining area). The food from set menu was mediocre. Very hit and miss with the group. The Veg option my friends had was very dissapointing (seasoned cauliflower head and the lemon jamun brule just didnt work had ghee like taste with lemon).
Being a big fan of thier Cinnamon Bazar (which is a more of a casual dinning affiar in comparison), I booked the restaurant expecting more. Food was rich, but frankly it just didnt come together or taste as impressive as the menu read
Fantastic experience. 8 course tasting menu was next level delicious, wine pairing was fun :)
The pre-starter was delicious, the zeeland fish starter was a great choice, my partner enjoyed the lentils and mixed bread, sadly I made the wrong choice and went for the crab risotto which was nice but really not the right choice to properly experience the flavours on offer. However, the kulfi with pistachio redeemed by poor choices magnificently - go and enjoy!!!
Very nice place, loved the furnishings and the food was great!
