Lovely atmosphere, great service and excellent food
Excellent food and wine. The tasting menu is excellent and the wine pairing was very good. Service was a bit patchy.
Lovely lunch in a wonderful setting. Will go back for sure.
We had a most enjoyable evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the venue was amazing. The staff were helpful and friendly, but the service was just a little bit slow - but it didn't spoil our evening.
It was quite noisy to begin with, but as people started eating rather than just drinking, the level of noise abated somewhat.
I like spicy food but not too spicy .The tasting menu was fantastic . The wine pairing perfect . All round great first visit . Would definitely return . The only down side is I felt we were too close to the next table as could hear their conversation.
Staff very friendly.
This is not as outstanding nor as unusual as once it was. The menu was shorter, there was not the large number of unusual and inspired cocktails as we used to enjoy. We had to chase drinks we’d ordered.
Overall, nothing special for the price. Which is a shame, as this is an old favourite.
We chose the Cinnamon Club for a meal to catch up with an friend who was in London for work.
It was the worst experience we have had in a restaurant in the last 5 years .
We arrived and were shown to our table
After a considerable amount of time we asked if we could order drinks
We were given the Experience Menu which looked fine but very mixed
The starter / appetisers and dessert were lovely
Main courses were v poor
The wine menu was v good , as we wanted to drink different wines it was easy to choose wine by the glass
It was like we were apart from the general restaurant as all evening we struggled to get anyone to order anything , refill our wine order , clear our table etc
It was embarrassing to have invited anybody to eat at this restaurant.
Flat atmosphere , with no service and hit and miss food was my overall feelings
My experience started off rocky. I made a reservation for the tasting menu at 9:45pm through Open Table. We arrive, get seated, and the server brings menus. I mention that we reserved the tasting menu so we’ll just like to see the wine list. He says it’s too late for the tasting menu, you have to be there by 9:30 and we should order something else. I’m not from here so it’s not like I can just come back get the tasting menu next week so I’m annoyed. I ask why there’s an option to reserve the tasting menu at 9:45 if we can’t actually order that and he says, we need to order from the regular menu. That’s it. I’m visibly upset because this restaurant came highly recommended and my dining experience was not going well but we look at the menu to try to order.
I ask for recommendations and Chris, the server, suggests we pick a few starters and do the butter chicken special which is enough for two. Ok, cool. We order that and wine. Chris comes back with wine and apologizes for the issue with the tasting menu, comps the wine and lets us know he’ll take care of us so not to worry. We had the lobster thermidor and the lamb mille starters and once we tasted the food, it was hard to stay upset. The food was delicious! Chris apologizes again, brings more wine, and chats with us. Our mains come out and again, AMAZING. We had the butter chicken, rice, naan, veggies, and mashed potatoes. Everything was great! The servings are generous and even though this is an upscale spin on Indian classics, the flavors were authentic and really took it up a notch. Chris also comped our desserts which were spectacular. He was patient with a difficult situation that was beyond his control but he really took care of us and made up for the booking/timing issue. He was personable and friendly and really made the dining experience worth it. Truly impeccable service from Chris!
Took 1 hour 15 mins for a waiter to come over to take our order and over 2 hours from walking in for any refreshments to arrive, despite asking a few times. Unfortunately the waitress tripped and dropped all the drinks over two of the guests at the table. This accident was due to poor training. The waitress should have filled the glasses at the table. The food was good when it came but after a 2 hour wait we were too angry to enjoy.
Time between courses and drinks being served to us was insanely slow. Some of the staff were not very friendly though a couple were. Some courses were delicious whereas others were very average.
1. The setting is amazing, couldn't ask for a better space for a restaurant
2. The food was generally good, although I didn't go to any old standby orders from other restaurants to compare against
1. They lost my reservation which was booked online
2. I was put in a corner by myself next to a couple loud tables.
3. The place they seated me meant that multiple people ran into the table around a blind corner, including one server who spilled my drink on me.
4. Service was slow, took over 2 hours before I threw in the towel and asked for the bill before the meal was through
5. After all the above they made no accomodation and charged full price for everything.
I wanted to like this place, but will not return nor recommend it.
Great place but very short staffed which meant a long wait for service even if the service itself was charming. Food was tasty but a bit tepid which again was probably a staffing issue rather than anything else.
Very much as expected - great venue for social business dinner.
The staff went an extra mile to the the experience memorable for my friend & I. They signed a bday card for my friend.. can’t wait to go back!
Food excellent service v good . There pulled out the stops for my fiancé 50th birthday. One problem it got too noisy
Terrible service, forgot about us after seating us until I flagged after half an hour of not even being offered water. Tasting menu tasted pretty bland, was expecting to be blown away by flavour for that price. Courses took ages to come, all in all we were there for 4 hours and desperate to leave by the end.
Surprisingly noisy and less special for having so many diners. Food was interesting & good though
Food was spectacular as ever, bar was very slow and had to ask for service. General service wasn't as good as normal but they were very busy. Food was wonderful as ever, overall we had a great night!!
Very slow bringing apperitif although there had been a problem in the kitchen. It's a pity they didn't actually tell us that though. Apart from that the rest of the evening was lovely with interesting flavours, courses came at the right speed, the wine pairing was very good. Good value.
Everything was perfect. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food exceeded expectations. The restaurant being in an old library makes it really calm and relaxed. Highly recommend.
Fantastic food, could not fault the flavours, absolutely worth a visit.
Alas, the service could/should have been more attentive and enthusiastic in their service
Excellent food, friendly staff and lovely setting! Would recommend.
After booking a few weeks in advance we arrived on time only to find that rather than being in a main room of the restaurant that was light and full of life we were led to a room that was dark, lacking in any atmosphere and felt like eating in an office. At this point we left which is a shame as on previous occasions the experience has always been a good one. Normally I would recommend (and have recommended the Cinnamon Club but this occasion I just couldn't).
Celebrating my friends’ recent wedding so a special occasion. Disappointing that the cocktail bar downstairs is closed and the bar lacked any atmosphere. The welcome from Front of House was not great I felt that was a training issue. The restaurant is beautiful as it has always been. We went for the celebration menu and the food was tasty, especially the lamb main course. The service was fine but not brilliant. The courses were rushed out in quick succession and it felt like we were being rushed through for the next set of covers until I requested that they slowed down. It felt like there was a lack of really well trained staff and that they were finding my feet which I wasn’t expecting at the Cinnamon Club where the bill was over £300. I expect service to be well judged and professional at that level of dining
Exceptional food and attentive service. We opted for the taster menu with no regret. We’ll be back
Unwelcoming gloomy place. Unwelcoming gloomy staff. Poor food.
Food was the absolute highlight of the visit. Beautiful flavours in every bite, couldn’t fault the meal. Service was superb. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary and our waiter really looked after us. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Excellent - service and food brilliant. Was lovely to be the four of us having a good time and being thoroughly spoiled…can’t wait to come back. So much of the menu to be tried thank you Cinnamon Club
This was a nice special occasion restaurant situated in an old London library with some of the books still on the shelves. The service was good and the food was as is expected in this type of restaurant. However the men's' room cleanliness was adequate but not up to a very high standard expected from this type of establishment and only one of the wash basins was working.
Delicious food as always and a great buzz. Never fails to please
The food and service was great! It is a great place to have a work dinner. Hari the waiter was so lovely and explained the dishes really well!
They seemed to have invested a lot into students and getting young people into the industry which is awesome however can cause a little bit of a delay with the orders, however we were willing to wait.
I have been receiving raving comments all day today from my team explaining how they had such a wonderful night.
Thank you Cinnamon Club!
Food was generally good but one dish (Cauliflower) was poor. Staff didn't really want to know!
Central location , good portion sizes , perfect setting.
The celebration menu for September was excellent. The restaurant showed creativity in menu design [simpler dishes -hence 4 stars - but good portion control to produce a satisfying tasting menu/ feast], cooking [quality ingredients skilfully -cooked and artistically presented] and value for money [set price]. Everything we had come to expect from The Cinnamon Club was in evidence. Service was friendly, welcoming and skilful. We had a delightful lunch in every respect; for us it was very pleasurable return to an old favourite and a relief to see this good restaurant emerge unscathed from the recent difficulties of the lockdowns.
The Butter Chicken special was outstanding. As was the lamb starter.
One of the best India food in London and we know our food well and have eaten at most fine dining places. Smaller portions so order well.
Been a while but good to be back on a busy Monday evening
The staff were very attentive, despite waiting for 5 minutes to be shown to our table as the maitre de was on the phone. The food was exquisite as was the wine. We had salmon followed by salt marsh lamb the flavours and textures were perfect. With a bottle of wine, the bill was £147, which I thought was excessive
Have eaten here more than a dozen times & it never disappoints both food & service are very good as well as a good wine list. The only negative is that is is very noisy as all surfaces are hard
Celebration for our Danish niece's 18th birthday so a family gathering of 8 with Danish relatives we haven't seen since before Covid. The food, drink and service were all great but our table was disappointing given I'd booked over a month in advance. We were in a darkened sub area which was incredibly hot and tricky for us to chat as a group. It was still a lovely evening, just wish we'd been in the main room.
