Just went for date/drinks. Amazing gin collection and cocktails. Beautiful ambience. Service was brilliant and very friendly. Did not have any food. Couple of drink each cost us around 50 quid. Only issue was at the end. We were ready to leave around 9.15pm and none of the staff wanted to check our table. We were looking at the bar to get attention but all 3 of them were busy talking. Went to the bar area to pay the bill and staff were busy stacking glasses or cleaning. Finally got around to pay the bill and leave. Guess they need some training similar to the early staff who were fantastic. Apart from that a great place to be , highly recommended.
We had a wonderful fun evening here, educational plus gin! We ordered a platter from the menu and were delighted with the food (and took home a platter of leftovers for breakfast too). Excellent evening out.
Fantastic atmosphere. We done a gin tour and tasting the guy was really good and informative. We would definitely go back. Loved it
The main disappointment was the service; lack of speed and attention paid to our table. I would say there were about 5 tables occupied with one group and the others as couples, with the 3, maybe 4 staff members, yet on two occasions I had to approach the bar for service. Not acceptable in normal circumstances and shouldn’t be either with social distancing in place. Drinks were decent and cheese board was fine. Positives end there sadly.
A wonderful place for catching up with friends and trying some lovely gin. The sharing cheeseboard was delicious, too. A little gem in the city.
Met up here with family as I’d been a couple of times before. They were impressed with the ambience and service and the bar snacks were delicious. Overall a very good night although the drinks were slightly pricey but very good quality.
Absolutely first class from start to finish, great drinks and service, food was awesome and they took an allergy request totally in stride. Looking forward to the next time we visit!
An incredible place to visit and amazing to see how all of their gin is produced from such a small distillery. Really knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Can’t recommend highly enough.
Saturday night service was not good. We were served one drink and then had no other interaction until we got up to ask for the bill an hour later - and the place wasn't busy. It's also lost a lot of character since the refurb as well as the menu changing to offer fewer gin cocktails. To add insult to injury, the server didn't check in my booking properly when we arrived so I got an email from Open Table berating me for not turning up to my reservation!
I discovered COLD a few years ago when friends gave me distillery tour tickets for a birthday present. I have returned a few times since for cocktails before Christmas, the last two times with the same friend as it's near her birthday, and it's a real treat. The majority of cocktails are gin-based, of course, and very many of them have been sampled over the years - there has never been a disappointment. Tables can be booked from 16.00 onwards, so there's no 'will they/won't they have room?' dilemma. Prices are mostly in the £10-£13 bracket per cocktail, and my friend enjoyed her toasted sandwich. The staff are all lovely.
This is a fabulous place to unwind after work - good vibe, not to noisy to be able to speak with your mates.
Score for food not applicable as we didn't eat. Gins very nice, though!
This cocktail bar used to have so much character. Dark quirky atmosphere, velvet armchairs, the like. Now it's like an All Bar One with wooden easy to clean surfaces, bright lights and zero atmosphere. After a long time, managed to order a cocktail from the busboy because he was the only one vaguely attentive. Had our waiter turn up 10 minutes later to take our order and we said we already ordered. After confusion he came back and said we couldn't order our cocktails because the sink wasn't working but we could order G&T's (I had ordered a French 75 - which is just champagne and gin). We left instead. No atmosphere. Couldn't serve the drinks we wanted. Such a shame because I used to really like the place.
Very attentive service, superb cocktails at decent price, bar menu could have been wider, overall highly recommended
It's a great bar with very good gin in the middle of the City of London District - so get in and enjoy!
