The Clock House Restaurant is housed in a beautiful Gergian building in the heart of Ripley village in Surrey. The restaurant has been owned by Serina Drake since 2004, the dining room is spacious and light and features beautiful art works from Jo Downs, Eric Bourse and Jo Tinker. There is a cosy pannelled bar or beautiful walled garden for drinks.

Head chef Fred Clapperton's creative cooking has a refined, understated style and displays plenty of finesse, with bold flavours in well-balanced combinations. Provenance and seasonality of ingredients is paramount, seeking the best of what we can from within our own shores and sometimes our own walled garden.

Restaurant manager Iain McArthur warmly welcomes our guests, effortlessly ensuring a professional, relaxed service born out of a true love of hospitality.

We offer a relaxed and friendly dining experience and so we do not operate a dress code.

A 2 Michelin star experience, great food, ambience and service,BUT... we left the restaurant hungry!!
Portion sizes even for a seven course tasting menu were WAY too small, portion sizes need to be 50% bigger.
We paid £140 per head with a not expensive wine,it takes some genius to have us leaving the restaurant hungry!
My advice to the chef and the patron,is to visit Hambleton Hall in Upper Hambleton,Rutland, they get the portions right ,and everything else!

Excellent food and service...the ambiance was slightly spoiled by a large noisy group in the adjoining room

Lovely place. Welcomed us a little earlier than they opened. Sat in the garden for pre dinner drinks as it was sunny. Great meal but possibly a little wasted on ourselves. Tried a few new things but equally very fussy food. No complaints as such as service was very good. Just super expensive & probably not where we would normally eat but it does what it says on the tin so to speak so more our inability to read the menu/other reviews beforehand. For us hard to justify expense as was £238 for two. Just trying to give a honest review to steer others.

What better way to celebrate the onset of spring than to sample the delights of the March tasting menu at the Clock House? My mother, sister and I chose the lunchtime tasting menu, 5 courses of exquisite food, all beautifully presented. The salmon with cucumber sauce was particularly noteworthy - light, refreshing but intensely flavoured and evocative of spring. The guinea fowl and hake that followed were equally good. The service is professional yet friendly and they welcomed questions about the food and its preparation. Thoroughly recommended, I look forward to returning.
