The Clock House Restaurant is housed in a beautiful Georgian building in the heart of Ripley village in Surrey. Owned by Serina Drake since 2004, the dining room is spacious and light and features beautiful art. There is a first floor bar or beautiful walled garden for drinks and a ground floor private dining room seating 10.

Restaurant manager Iain McArthur warmly welcomes our guests, effortlessly ensuring a professional, relaxed service born out of a true love of hospitality.

Whilst head chef Luke Spier creates lasting memories for our guests showcasing some of the best seasonal produce from the UK. By using modern cooking techniques and unique wild flavours he aims to create an experience that fits perfectly with the restaurant’s identity, bringing the theatrical element from the kitchen into the dining room to form a more personal touch with our guests.

We offer a relaxed and friendly dining experience and so we do not operate a dress code.

Wonderful evening at the Clock House. The staff are attentive and welcoming and the food is very good. The food was well presented and very tasty, the portions perhaps a bit on the small side, but maybe that is no bad thing!

Was really looking forward to this. Initially booked online and got the dates wrong, (no availability for four on our chosen day so it offered an alternative, which I didn't realise). Emailed and explained, straight away they sorted and booked us for the date we needed. Arrived, parents taxi hadn't arrived so they were running 15 minutes late. We were shown to the lounge. Was enroute to find someone to get us a drink, so in our mind the wait for service was too long. Glass of bubbles was £19.50. Strangely when we have done tasting menus before its all included. But so be it. At the table we were then served the welcome glass of bubbles! two down before we started. Food was superb. Wine pairing flambouyant. Cheese board extra. Coffee extra. You'd imagine when a bill is £250 per head the coffee would be included. A great experience, staff were impeccable, but the little extra costs let it down.

Lovely venue - old building but modern decor, with a super dining room : not easy / you can actually hear your conversation. Super tasting menu, all v interesting. Slightly slow service but we were enjoying the foo: only an issue as we had a deadline.

Fabulous food tasting menu. Great service from the staff and maitre d only disappointed with the ambiance of the room which felt tired and dull, however we went for the food and that certainly came up trumps.

It was quite disappointing. Food was not exceptional or memorable. We had wine pairing and choice of wine was great. It’s probably because we went to another Michelin star restaurant one month ago and the clock house feels like it’s lacking in comparison.

The food was enjoyable, we had the set meal plus cheese. The explanations of what the ingredients of each course were not really clear and we rather felt that the staff should have been more careful to make them all clear. Overall, although the meal was enjoyable we felt that it didn't offer value for money, and was overpriced.

Food was very good, nice fresh British ingredients good presentation. Staff friendly and helpful in their description of the various dishes. Wines were very nice. A bit expensive for lunchtime, but not too bad. Not much parking adjacent but not too far a walk to the car park (approx 250m to 300m)

We were shown into the garden, ordered aperitifs and relaxed with menus. I had a sherry of unbelievably wonderful flavour. We ate, experienced, wondered at, the taster menu with matching wine . The combinations of food and wine were deeply satisfying, and the service knowledgeable and courteously good humoured. The food was utterly delicious, accompanied by very interesting, delicious and appropriate wines that matched/complimented the exquisite flavours. Altogether a unique experience. It was expensive, but the cost reflected the quality, imagination, knowledge and skill, that was evident in our meal. It was worth every penny. My only complaint is that the colour of the wall panels was a chilly, unsympathetic grey. Providing food of this quality requires a setting that is warm and welcoming. The current interior colour scheme does not compliment the atmosphere created by the staff and the rest of the environment. I hope to bring other members of my family when they visit me from France later in the year.

We went last night for our anniversary. Can’t fault any aspect, it was a lovely experience and the food was incredible. Best dining experience we’ve had in years!! It is quite expensive but amazing food is, so we thought it was reasonably priced.

The Clockhouse is a lovely old house in a quiet village once a major coaching hub on the London to Portsmouth road. It was a sunny day so drinks in the garden before we sampled a delightful menu. And a perfect recommendation from the sommelier.

Beautiful setting with lovely start to evening sitting in the garden for aperitifs. Excellent service as always. Fixed price menu quite expensive but food as always delicious, unusual and creatively presented. Would suggest having a choice of sparkling wine by the glass to include an English vineyard.

Lovely food and beautifully presented. Not a fan of the muffin like soda bread- way too sweet and accompanied with the creamy/rich mussels it left me feeling a little unwell to begin with! The food started at a great pace but slowed down and service was a bit slow towards the end (despite only 2 other tables). Lovely presentation of all food and a beautiful restaurant inside. Service very friendly and welcoming.

As usual, excellent food and service. We weren't sure about the muffin-like 'treacle bread' (perhaps a bit sweet at that point in the meal?). And we felt that jazz/light classical as background music might have suited the ambience better, but these are very minor quibbles about another lovely evening out at the Clockhouse.
