We always eat at the cloth ear when visiting Belfast. This time we stayed in the hotel overnight which was equally fabulous. I think it is the chilled out vibe that we love, we had a booth right beside the window, so instantly felt comfortable. Food was amazing , I adore the Wagu burger and my husband said the schnitzel was the best he had ever had. Puddings were delicious and staff were friendly and polite but not overbearing. Thanks so much for another great meal !

Very average - roast dinner was tasteless with hard roast potatoes. Asked for a small glass of wine but was given and charged for 250ml. Service was slow at times.

Our food was tasty We both had curry and rice . The rice was literally a teaspoonful amount. We had to ask for some more rice. This makes an uncomfortable feeling because we had to ask . We shouldn’t have had to ask . We should have got a proper meal. Love this place and we eat here all the time . Please just serve what’s on the menu

Went for lunch to the Cloth Ear on a Saturday lunchtime. There was a nice atmosphere, not too noisy and was pretty busy. Requested a table at the window when booking and that is what we got which was great. Service was excellent from waiting staff and our food order was extremely quick at being served. My partner had the fish and chips which he thoroughly enjoyed and thought the fish was really lovely in a very light sort of tempura batter which also had really nice little bowl accompaniments including tartare sauce, mushy peas and a curry sauce. I had the lamb ragu tagliatelle which was a reasonable portion and had melt in the mouth lamb however there was not alot of flavour coming from the very thin watery sauce unfortunately. A ragu sauce should be hearty and coat the tagliatelle but this did not do any of that. I had to get a spoon to eat the sauce along with pieces of the lamb due to the consistency of it which was really disappointing if I'm honest. Plus I had ordered one of the dearest gins on the menu along with some tonic water which came to just under what a cocktail cost and it came just in an average tall glass with a couple of pieces of ice which I thought minimum effort but exorbitant price tag which I was not impressed with either. I think the bar maybe needs to consider these comments and improve on the couple of areas I have mentioned that could be improved greatly. I would return however will be choosing another main course and a cheaper gin.
