The Coach & Horses
Expect quality pub classics alongside modern seasonal British food courtesy of our local head chef Steve Wilson (ex Hix and Caprice).
Whether you're here to enjoy our fantastic food, sip on a cask ale on our bar, banging the table along to our Wednesday Blues or dancing to the live band on Saturday nights, you are assured a warm welcome and a fun time.
Why not try our Atlantic Prawn Cocktail, our unbelievably good beef pie, with mash and liquor, or a comforting sticky toffee pudding. Or all three! On Wednesdays our blues inspired menu includes jambalaya, buffalo wings, fried pickles and short rib.
Or pop down for Brunch on Saturdays for Buttermilk Pancakes drenched in maple syrup, Baked Eggs with Chilli & Tomato or a Vegan Full English.
If that's not enough for you on Sundays we have our hearty roasts with all the trimmings and popular giant yorkshires.
Great - though at the end of the day no roasts left, so need to get there early for a delightful meal!
The staff are really friendly and helpful and the food and beer were excellent and served very quickly. A bit noisy, but as a Sunday lunchtime there were small children lacking parental control. Not the pub's fault. Overall though provided an excellent Dad and daughter meal. Relaxed and comfortable.
Went here on Easter Sunday for a roast. Food was excellent, lots of good beer on tap, very friendly staff, everything very reasonably priced. It was quiet when we went but I could imagine it being a lot busier and noisier at times.
Pub classics as they always should have been done, homemade and very good.
We had a really good meal here on Sunday. It was Mothering Sunday so it was very busy, but service was great and the food was perfect. We knew that we needed to ask for extra gravy and we were pleased to get a full jug each
Lovely setting - traditional English pub with delicious food, great selection of ales, lovely edited wine list and great gin choices! Really nice atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon. High chairs provided which was great for bringing our daughter along. And they pour a great pint of Guinness!
Excellent, friendly service. Lovely food- huge Yorkshire puddings and excellent meat. Brilliant desserts too!
Absolutely brilliant lunch - the service was outstanding. Incredibly welcoming, lots of character and felt like I was at a friends house having lunch! Food was amazing, ordered way to much and still managed it all.
Will recommend to all friends and will definitely be back.
Thank you very much for curing a brutal hangover and feeding us so much food we were asleep by 7.30!
Great food and vibe. Staff really friendly too. Can't wait to try the Sunday Roasts. Make sure you book in advance.
Had a heavenly Sunday Roast here, the pork belly was melt in the mouth, with perfect crunchy crackling.
The peanut butter parfait was the best dessert I've had in ages - my friends were jealous! Lovely pub with delicious food made with love, care, and flair. We'll be back!
A beautiful building, spacious and comfortable eating areas, good food and delightful service makes this a great place for a Sunday lunch.
Each visit, I invite another person who becomes a fan. Love it. Starting to wonder about the crèche atmosphere.
Very family friendly and understanding of our two lively toddlers. Food as always is excellent and the staff lovely.
This pub is fast becoming my favourite in Leyton.
The menu is fantastic and constantly evolves.
The staff are LOVELY, so friendly, attentive and really down to earth.
Beer selection is huge and all tastes super fresh.
They have split the rooms really well so you can decide if you want to have a proper dining area if you want to chat or the main bar where you can watch sport and eat.
PERFECT - you are nailing it!
Really great night out with friends. Food was excellent quality and great value for money. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back soon.
Steve’s food was amazing on Valentine’s day.
I have now been there twice. Each time I dealt with different staff members and they were all great and personable. The food is delicious.
Great food, great atmosphere and great staff. We did the Escape Room upstairs and had dinner afterwards. Had a great time, would thoroughly recommend
Brilliant food here, can eat in the restaurant or bar (we've done both over time). Delicious roast (best in Leyton!) and staff are so friendly!
No doubt in my mind, this is Leyton's number 1 pub !!
Love this place! Its amazing atmosphere and lovely neighbourhood feel. Best pub in Leyton!
This is one of our favorite pubs in Leyton. The staff remembers us, despite not being a ‘regular’. They are always friendly and welcoming. The food is outstanding and the half roast chicken is plentiful. Love the gravy on the side, feels like a nice touch. We’ll be back soon!
Great Sunday Lunch. We will be back again soon :-)
Great food and great service, family friendly, plenty of space (queit when we were there). Food perhaps a bit pricey, but worth it as it was delicious, the lamb I had was fantastic.
Good choice of beers, and local for me so what's not to like. Will be returning for sure.
Great food on a Sunday,
Staff were excellent and very helpful, prices were very reasonable.
First time visitor from out of town. Friday evening with friend. Service was great. Food amazing and value for money. Would highly recommend.
Good food, friendly staff and very good value for money, ticks all my boxes for an establishmment where i'd go to eat and drink and local too.
I can't recommend The Coach & Horses enough. Such great food and not what you would expect from a local pub! I had the pork belly with beef fat fried chips and my brother had the roasted pumpkin with a side of broccoli and chili - both dishes truly delicious!
The staff were so friendly and did a great job in running the full restaurant with only two people! nothing was too much and they did it all with genuine smiles on their faces.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and would say for a quieter area, the back restaurant is better than the bar area. I can't wait for my next visit!!!!
We visited last Sunday for a family Sunday roast. We loved it. Although really busy our pre booked table was ready and our delicious food came out at lightning speed. The drinks were good too.
I get a real Walthamstow village feel here, I’m presuming a lot of the customers may have been from that way. We ventured over from Essex and will be back soon.
Really enjoyable night out. The food was excellent and good value for money. The drinks were very reasonably priced. The service was outstanding. Danielle our server (and everybody else's server) was outstanding. She was efficient, friendly and helpful, particularly when one of our party had specific dietary needs. We will be returning and recommending to others. Thank you.
I have been for Sunday lunch before and for the second time they didn’t disappoint. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived and service was excellent. The woman who runs the restaurant part of the venue is fantastic! Always smiling, remembers faces and is always efficient. We’ll be back in a few weeks with friends and very much looking forward to it!
Proper pub with good food, lively atmosphere and friendly staff.
Great live music although I think they would be better in the bar as it’s very loud when your eating
Food very disappointing dreadful presentation and bland taste. I would not eat there again. Ok for a drink only
Very good job carried out on the refurbishment, I do not live in the area but my family and I have always popped into the pub on matchdays for a quick pint after eating elsewhere so the introduction of hot food being served on matchdays appeals to me immensly and I will be occupying table 41 (whenever possible) to eat and drink on matchdays in the future, at first I was concerned that the matchday menu would be restrictive but to be honest there seemed more meals available last Saturday, i do wonder if a couple of matchday specials would be a good idea but to be fair it's so busy during the lead up to kick-off this may impose unwanted extra load on the kitchen.
The waitress does a superb job as does the gentleman from the kitchen who jokingly offered me a job last Saturday both are extremely hard working and a credit to the establishment
My main suggestion is that in my opinion when football is being shown on the in house TV's the commentaries should be heard, instead of having no commentary and loud music being played in the background, most of the public in the pub from midday until 3.00 are there for the football and the music could then go back after 3pm.
Keep up the good work, it's sincerely appreciated.
Unfortunately, we booked for immediately after a Leyton Orient match and the pub itself was extremely busy and noisy. I’m sure at other times, it would be more sedate. The service was awful; we waited an hour for the food and learned that our order was not submitted. However, the manager dealt with the issue superbly and efficiently. And the food itself, when it eventually arrived was first class. The ragu was top draw and the fish and chips lovely. If the service gets sorted out, it will be a first class eatery.
Great food and atmosphere at the Blues night! Everyone is very friendly and we had a lovely evening.
£1.50 for extra gravy, are you kidding? Just give me enough in the first place.
Delicious Sunday pub roast - the best we've ever had. Much better than local rival Leyton Technical. The meat options were great but the vegan and vegetarian options were also perfectly seasoned. Cheerful friendly service too.
Best fish dish I have ever had. Excellent chef. Can't wait to go back.
top choice for local Sunday lunch, also does great Saturday brunch . nice light and airy premises, and garden. excellent friendly service
