Cobbles has a really imaginative menu, better than most pubs . It also has an excellent range of beers.
I really love visiting this place!
I had booked on Opentable which was in my favor, as the restaurant is small, and I would not have had a table that evening had I not done so.
I chose the Salmon for dinner, which might very well have been the best tasting Salmon that I have ever eaten. The prices were quite reasonable for the amount of food that we received. We enjoyed the experience so much that we went back a second night for dinner.
Latest of several visits; good food, good beer (Tempest craft brewery), and Kelso is a good place to visit.
We'll be back
Fabulous meal, and the service is outstanding. Such a warm, friendly atmosphere. There is enough noise to create a relaxing ambience without having to shout to eachother. The food is phenomenal, with a great and creative choice for vegetarians. Wholeheartedly recommend this place of you're in the area.
As always a good impressive meal once again. Partner had whitebait to start with and loved. Then both stakes, with two bottle of wine I would say stick to the bar as the wine was a little pricey although absolutely lovely
Consistently good value for money food and outstanding beer from our favourite Scottish Borders pub; it has never let us down.
This was about the 4th or 5th time we've been to this area for holiday and after finding The Cobbles on the first trip we always come back. The food is superb, the staff brilliant, the local beer/larger is well worth trying, to put it simply there isn't anything to fault. We mentioned to our landlady we'd booked/eaten here and said we'd never been disappointed, to which she replied the only disappointment you get at the Cobbles is not being able to get a table if they are fully booked. Can't compliment a place much more than that. We have no hesitation at all in recommending eating here.
Well run, lovely staff, interesting tasty food, good beer. Excellent
The service was great but the food was pretty poor. My risotto tasted of nothing and everything else was pretty basic.
Lovely place to eat but sometimes slightly rushed by the waitresses. We would have like a little more time between courses.
We've eaten at The Cobbles regularly and have never had a bad experience. The staff are unfailingly friendly and professional. It's always busy because it's so popular, therefore booking is advisable, even midweek. (The new online booking system is very easy to use) There's a good choice of freshly cooked food on the menu, and as non-meat eaters we never struggle to select something. We appreciate that there's more than one veggie option, as so many establishments only offer one token vegetarian main course.
As routine, a carafe of water and delicious homemade bread are presented on being seated at your table - a lovely touch.
The Cobbles is a shining example that many restaurants should emulate. We look forward to our next visit!
Great food, lots of choice. Good service, pleasant friendly staff. Gluten free options. Definitely will return.
Great food and service very nice menu very tasty and well presented
Super food and beer. Very welcome and excellent customer service
This was our third visit and we were not disappointed. Our favourite restaurant / bar in Kelso.
This is a great place with fresh local produce. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Especially the manager.
Great meal great service we really enjoyed our evening
We ate at 6pm which made the early evening menu available. This is outstanding value for money and we both enjoyed our meals greatly. The tempest beer is also always a highlight. Both servers were polite, helpful and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
Great pub that accommodated our dog too. The food was really good and the choice of beer outstanding.
Cibo molto buono e abbondante: ottima la moussaka e il classico fish and chips, così come il tortino al cioccolato.
Personale molto gentile; ci hanno servito senza problemi anche se siamo arrivati in ritardo e al limite della chiusura della cucina.
Food was excellent I had the fish and hand cut chips amazing , service was great also very welcoming place will be back again .
Great wee regular pub with super food and excellent service.
Only problem was the very uncomfortable seat (the chair) at the middle small table. The front edge dug in to my legs all the time. I think it needs more stuffing in the centre!
Nevertheless, a great place!
Regular customers here, great service, good food and the usual selection of excellent ale.
Meal, service and ambience excellant. The homemade icecream and fish and chips were especially good.
Really nice evening, good food, fast friendly helpful service, no piped music, intersting menu and beers.
Thanks we had a very relaxed meal.
Excellent as always. A day trip to Kelso is one of the highlights of our year, not least because of the chance to have lunch at the Cobblers. Great food, great beer and great service.
Went to the cobbles for my birthday and loved it,food was great and so was the service, also sat in bar for a few drinks and it's just a lovely place.
Good food, friendly and attentive staff, and great communication to check table was appropriate to our needs, thank you!
I have never been to somewhere where they only allow you a 2 hour slot at a table. The food was nice and the service was quick but almost to the point like you were being rushed out and didn't have time to eat 3 courses because you were constrained to your slot.
Staff and welcome were great. Food innovative. I found it a little rich.
Unfortunately the noise level was such that my husband ( hard of hearing) found it very difficult and we could not converse over the meal.
Two visits to this little gem while in Kelso. Well cooked food from an extensive menu. Beer not bad either. Well done.
Really friendly welcome and excellent service. This is an informal gastropub/bistro with an interesting menu (battered samphire as a starter). I had a lamb baguette with salad and fries all of which was tasty but there wasn’t a lot of lamb. Good choice of beer and wine.
Really really lovely reaturant, food was exquisite.
My children fell in love with the burger after demolishing it and have no decided that this is the only place to eat in Kelso.
Waitress was attentive without being overbearing and the whole meal was just really good. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Incredible food and lovely staff.
The fish and chips really was amazing!!
Just a really awesome place...wonderful food, great service and reasonable prices.
Outstanding service from professional and attentive waiting staff. Good food and nice atmosphere. Overall a most pleasant experience
Another very pleasant visit. Great food, friendly atmosphere and excellent service. What’s not to like. Will definitely be back.
Fresh approach to old favorites. Great service. Central location. Varied menu with lots of healthy choices. Very comfortable and welcoming.
A place to go back to and to recommend to visitors. A lovely alternative to hotel dining.
Located in area of great interest and an easy walk.
Booked this restaurant for my wife’s birthday meal , we have been to Kelso before at a weekend and found that any restaurant that is any good gets pretty much fully booked at weekends , I AM GLAD WE DID AS IT WAS VERY BUSY . great food , great beer , tasted some great bears I have never heard of before .
In fact it was so good we went back for Sunday lunch , highly recommended
highly recommended - disappointed & not up to expectation. Overall food quality poor.Heating on may have helped !!
