The Cobbles Inn
The Cobbles team includes proprietor, Luca and Olivia Becattelli assisted by Stuart Turnbull, Head Chef, Daniel Norcliffe, plus our long-serving awesome Duty Managers; Martina, Michal and David.
Another great meal at the Cobbles. Very family friendly which is great when you have a young family. Restaurant was v busy but service was efficient and food was great. 5stars for all.....a moderate for noise level but that was down to my 2 young kids!!!! Will be back and will continue to recommend.
Wonderful meal had at The Cobbles on New Years Eve. Food was delicious, service was great, really good value for money. Unfortunately had to leave at 10pm as had children with us - would have been nice to stay as New Years Eve, however this would not put us off returning. Would highly recommend a visit.
Excellent from start to finish . Great food , lovely staff and really good service. Great range of IPA beers and very reasonable prices . Went on a Friday night , unbeknownst to us there is a folk type band on , who I have to say made the night . This was the best pub for food and drinks in Kelso .
Fabulous food and great service from the staff - we loved it
Our favourite place for lunch..possibly could increase the vegetarian options and mark the menu with V to denote
Excellent specials menu with the choice of a smaller main course if desired. This suits us
as we find that many restaurants serve huge portions which we cannot manage and the food goes to waste.
The food was delicious, the service quick efficient and friendly and the atmosphere just right.
All in all a very pleasant evening thanks to the Cobbles.....
Limited and uninspiring menu for Xmas, the standard menu hasn't changed for a long time.when the meals arrived portions were on the mean side, the vegatarian option had little taste (parsnip risotto )and the roast potatoes with the turkey were undercooked.
The town was quiet, I booked in advance and have been in before, it was later so you never know if it will live up at the end of a day. but food was terrific, house red was great and staff could not have been nicer.
cost is extremely reasonable, so a good place to visit.
Great food, service and ambience. The portions were a good size and the food was really tasty.
Fantastic food and a wonderful selection of craft beers.
Food was excellent!
Best pint of lager I’ve had in ages! (Tempest Modern Helles)
Lovely food. Great attentive service from start to finish. Evening entertainment with musicians. Really lovely
Excellent food and great service. Everyone made you feel welcome. There was extra tables upstairs and the room was amazing with plenty of room. Great experience and will definitely be back.
Very easy to book online with professional replies. Very friendly staff . Food choice was huge and having one of my favourite starters (whitebait) was unusual for most UK restaurants - so choice was very easy. We were having a catch up with a friend of many years standing and never felt that we were overstaying our time at the table. Food came at the right pace for us and the bill was very reasonably priced for 2 courses each
Table available on time, restaurant nicely full for a Friday night. Not a great choice for myself being a vegetarian but the food was excellent anyway.A great choice of beers from Tempest brewery which was new to me.Overall great value for money and an excellent evening.
Visited on Sunday 28th Oct for my birthday along with my partner & daughter. Greeting was good, nice table in the corner.
2 of us had ham hock starter, 1 had chicken, all very good. For mains 2 of us had beef, 1 had mussels again all beautiful.
For dessert, myself and my daughter went for the dark chocolate fondant. Very disappointed to break open the cake and find that it was overcooked so there wasn't a drop of runny chocolate, the whole point of a fondant, however the taste was lovely. We did inform the waitress at the end of the meal about this but heard not another thing about it.
Spoiled a lovely lunch.
As always, great service and lovely food. Anniversary meal after the races. Finished off the day wonderfully
A good variety of menu. Quite a lively bar. We had pre booked our meal for 8.00pm. We both had moussaka with a bottle of wine. It was delicious. Staff we very friendly and attentive and seem to never stop. The place was very busy and you can understand why. Give this place a try. It won't disappoint.
At the risk of repeating myself this restaurant is outstanding. I live 200 miles away and come to Kelso races when our horse is entered and always eat here. I hope the locals appreciate what they have. Management and staff well done keep up the good work.
A model of consistent quality. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxcxxxxxxxxxxx
Excellent food and about the only place in the area that can easily accommodate my friend who doesn't eat meat, fish, wheat or dairy. Good ambiance too.
We have lived in this area for over 20 years. I first used the Cobbles to say thank you to my brother-in-law and sister for helping my wife and I find our new home here. I have since used the restaurant for a reliable good meal.
Since the current owners have moved in it has gone from good, to superb, more (in my mind)like a masterchef experience.
It is the first place we think about when planning a meal out.
Cobbles has a really imaginative menu, better than most pubs . It also has an excellent range of beers.
I really love visiting this place!
I had booked on Opentable which was in my favor, as the restaurant is small, and I would not have had a table that evening had I not done so.
I chose the Salmon for dinner, which might very well have been the best tasting Salmon that I have ever eaten. The prices were quite reasonable for the amount of food that we received. We enjoyed the experience so much that we went back a second night for dinner.
Latest of several visits; good food, good beer (Tempest craft brewery), and Kelso is a good place to visit.
We'll be back
Fabulous meal, and the service is outstanding. Such a warm, friendly atmosphere. There is enough noise to create a relaxing ambience without having to shout to eachother. The food is phenomenal, with a great and creative choice for vegetarians. Wholeheartedly recommend this place of you're in the area.
As always a good impressive meal once again. Partner had whitebait to start with and loved. Then both stakes, with two bottle of wine I would say stick to the bar as the wine was a little pricey although absolutely lovely
Consistently good value for money food and outstanding beer from our favourite Scottish Borders pub; it has never let us down.
This was about the 4th or 5th time we've been to this area for holiday and after finding The Cobbles on the first trip we always come back. The food is superb, the staff brilliant, the local beer/larger is well worth trying, to put it simply there isn't anything to fault. We mentioned to our landlady we'd booked/eaten here and said we'd never been disappointed, to which she replied the only disappointment you get at the Cobbles is not being able to get a table if they are fully booked. Can't compliment a place much more than that. We have no hesitation at all in recommending eating here.
Well run, lovely staff, interesting tasty food, good beer. Excellent
The service was great but the food was pretty poor. My risotto tasted of nothing and everything else was pretty basic.
Lovely place to eat but sometimes slightly rushed by the waitresses. We would have like a little more time between courses.
We've eaten at The Cobbles regularly and have never had a bad experience. The staff are unfailingly friendly and professional. It's always busy because it's so popular, therefore booking is advisable, even midweek. (The new online booking system is very easy to use) There's a good choice of freshly cooked food on the menu, and as non-meat eaters we never struggle to select something. We appreciate that there's more than one veggie option, as so many establishments only offer one token vegetarian main course.
As routine, a carafe of water and delicious homemade bread are presented on being seated at your table - a lovely touch.
The Cobbles is a shining example that many restaurants should emulate. We look forward to our next visit!
Great food, lots of choice. Good service, pleasant friendly staff. Gluten free options. Definitely will return.
Great food and service very nice menu very tasty and well presented
Super food and beer. Very welcome and excellent customer service
This was our third visit and we were not disappointed. Our favourite restaurant / bar in Kelso.
This is a great place with fresh local produce. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Especially the manager.
Great meal great service we really enjoyed our evening
We ate at 6pm which made the early evening menu available. This is outstanding value for money and we both enjoyed our meals greatly. The tempest beer is also always a highlight. Both servers were polite, helpful and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
