We also offer another informal lounge bar, with high and low tables to suit every taste. This bar also has an open fire and is a great place to relax with a pint and the papers.
We have two specific dining areas and we offer a wide and varied menu. The kitchen opens daily at midday and everyone is welcome to sample our range from the menu or daily specials board – there is something for everyone and we will try our best to accommodate all allergy requirements.
We offer a separate Sunday Menu, which comprises of at least two roast meat options with all the trimmings and homemade Yorkshire puddings and at least one fish and one vegetarian dish.
Lovely meal again in our local pub. Thank you and good luck over the next few weeks x
Superb meal, service and atmosphere as usual.
We had a lovey morning at Breakfast with Father Christmas. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast menu had lots to choose from and was cooked well and all tasted fresh. Really good value for money.
You did a great job
Very friendly staff, food was great, I had battered Haddock and chips, it was huge! They have work very hard to make it as COVID safe as possible, would definitely recommend a visit.
Lovely meal, excellent food. The pandemic measures in place meant our first table choice was in a strong cold draft from the open door.
We went for breakfast with Santa- it was a fantastic experience. Staff very friendly, attentive and welcoming.
The set up was fantastic, socially distanced and clean. Food was delicious too! And we were so impressed with Santa- he really spent time taking to the children. We would 💯 recommend and will be back!
Love eating at the Cock Horse in Lavenham. Lovely food and very friendly staff. Feel really safe there too at the moment.
Decent food, good service, a bit on the cool side (temp), very modern and lacks ambience.
Overall ok place and was open on mondays which others arent.
Sunday lunch for six at The Cock Horse. Overall very good, excellent service as usual. Some specific comments for feedback:
1. Menu didn’t show that you could have just a main meal for £15 instead of the two course for £19. I would have opted for that as the fish portion was huge.
2. In contrast to comment one, my friend had the Risotto which she felt was a poor, small portion for the £15 price.
Apart from that we enjoyed our stay, would go again, just wouldn’t have the Risotto.
The overall experience was very nice. However we did find our food a little cold when it arrived.
Fantastic food and excellent service. Worth a visit if you are visiting Lavenham.
Good food and friendly staff. The ambiance was poor which surprised us when we arrived
Sadly a really poor meal despite recommendation from Telegraph Travel when looking at where to stay and eat in Lavenham.
Very bland food from a limited menu which was restricted further by one of the items being sold out.
A great location however for a summer drink.
The waitress service was good and attentive but my wife's main dish order was wrong as the dish she asked for wasn't available but she wasn't told of this and somehow another dish was brought along. However in recompense when they realised the error, they offered a free drink to me and my wife so that was appreciated and they apologised.
Meal would have been lovely if it was HOT!! There were 4 of us in our party, we all said the meal was nice but would have been really good had it been hot. We felt the staff were trying to hurry us up to leave. They also made a mistake with the bill, which was sorted.
Food not great which was dissapointing I'm afraid
The staff were very welcoming and friendly, though the service was rather slow. The inn is in a lovely position opposite the church, and the garden at the front would be great in the summer. The food was rather indifferent - possibly due to unwise choices. The "small plates" turned out to be much too insubstantial for a meal.
We went early to avoid people so that was fine. Service good and staff friendly. Food average. Some portions very small. Quite pricey.
The 21 Greyhound in Wickhambrook is well worth a visit, good good and service and reasonably priced.
Was visiting Suffolk so met friends here. Was very impressed with everything, cant fault anything. My friends hadn't been before, they are definitely going again
I've been to this pub 3 times, the first time was the best, there was a falafel burger full of taste and some chickpea fries - loved it.
So I went again, the second time the menu was changed where they replaced the falafel burger with a beef burger (vegan option available which is what i ordered). I thought it was a little bland the second time but I thought it may just be a one off.
The third time i visited, I ordered the same vegan burger ( with cheese to add some flavour ): the patty was a little bland unfortunately. Lacked taste and flavour, the caramelised onion was nice but a little overpowering in my opinion.
I also ordered the vegetable curry, this did have taste but it arrived a little cold and the rice was a little dry. It almost felt as if it was cooked from a frozen ready meal.
We also had the mac n cheese balls, these were almost frozen from the inside and crumbled completely. I left them uneaten, so was disappointed there.
The pub itself is scenic and has nice interior. Plus great location. The staff are helpful and super happy to help. On the whole, its a great place to go, sadly I am put off just a little by the burger option they have now - But i still recommend going here at least for the experience :)
A free car park next door - plenty of comfie looking outside furniture.
A funky lobby area
COVID friendly with plenty of hand sanitizers, one way in/out - loves the screens between tables.
Perfect lunchtime menus
Would return and would recommend to others
Wonderful tasty and well presented food, attentive staff, just enough customers to fill most of the tables but you felt totally comfortable.
Would definitely go back again when visiting Lavenham next.
Good covid precautions and ability to use app check in. Decorative glass screens have been put between tables which is a good additional measure. 3 of us dined, two meals were good - a fish pie and the chicken burger but the third a steak wasn't the best (too pink for a medium and a bit sinewy). The person eating the steak didnt mention to the restaurant staff as it was a special occasion they didnt want to spoil; so what they didn't eat went home to their dog who enjoyed it! Desserts (berry eton mess & sticky toffee pud) were good. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful and relaxed atmosphere. Reasonable price though steak was maybe a tad expensive
Service impeccable
Food delicious
A good selection of wine
Atmosphere was lively
We enjoyed our evening very much as per usual and will be returning.
Two very happy customers
Excellent venue and really attentive staff - well worth a visit
I came on Monday 21st Sept with a friend , Lovely happy welcome But not over the top
Service was brilliant, and only asked once if the meal was o.k. which is also a bonus nothing worse than being asked three or four times , the drink,s served in clean beautiful glasses , waiter was very very informative about the gin !!I used to run the crown in in Hartest when I first came up from London so I was pleased that the service ,and decor was up to a high standard , even in these very difficult times , made to feel welcome we had coffee in the sunshine outside, in the most comfortable garden chairs , in fact my friend and I have ordered from the same company a set each I peeped at the label !!!just one thing I know you where still doing the meal deal menu But could have been a bit better in choices seemed all burgers , cooked and served well though But Thank you , I have told six people since coming hope it work,s for you , mrs J Bowtell
Very good food, staff friendly very helpful. Just a wee bit confusing on the one way system out after visiting the toilet.
Excellent service and delicious fish and chips. Had a great outdoor seating area.
Great food and reasonable prices, service and staff very freindly and efficient. Highly recomend
Lovely pub setting inside and outside , great service and food .
Fantastic food and adhering to correct covid procedures. Will recommend.
Great food, friendly attentive staff, nice location.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was gorgeous
We enjoyed a lovely lunchtime meal and the puds were absolutely delicious.
Only one slight criticism is that there was a very limited main menu and too many burger choices for our liking.
Will definitely be returning.
A very good meal served in a friendly and efficient manner. The establishment was well managed with respect to Covid. An altogether pleasant experience.
Only 3 choices of mains, apart from burgers. Steak was average, fish & chips good. Burgers were fair.
Service was excellent, with happy, willing, efficient waitresses.
Food was expensive - steak £23.00 with desserts ok at £5.00
Kept to Covid spacing guidelines which was good.
A friend and I booked for lunch as we had heard they were carrying on with Eat Out Help Out and we had not tried it since the new owners took over in 2019. We very much enjoyed it - I had two light bites: Calamari and a hot smoked salmon salad and my friend had a cheese and bacon burger which she said was good! We will be back!
Friendly service, good food, our own table away from other diners. All round great experience.
Delicious Food served in a Contemporary Setting - would highly recommend
