   It was quiet and few staff on but food and drinks were all great and there is excellent choice for vegans and vegetarians.

   Food was great, but the drinks were a little disappointing. The boys had beers and felt they were a bit expensive for small cans, but we had a cocktail each, both coconut daiquiris. We really couldn't taste any coconut and the amount of mint floating in the glass made it unpleasant to drink without a straw, and that sometimes becomes necessary when your paper straw has collapsed.

   The meat was tough, the fish (tuna) was in huge, dry chunks. The first drink we ordered took at least 10 minutes to prepare and we had to ask where it was. The cocktail “to share” that we ordered was barely more than a single with a mountain of ice cubes. Restaurant was cold meaning I kept my padded jacket on throughout the meal. Music was anything but authentic- mostly modern British chart genre.

   Fab food and service when we dined there for my friends birthday on the weekend. We were a large group and had been given a private dining area which was great. Our waiter was very charismatic and helpful with trying to make decisions on food! The food was very tasty and although portions appear small was more than enough. Would definitely visit again and recommend it.

    Booked for a Sunday lunch but it was remarkably quiet. We had to wait at least five minutes before anyone appeared although when they did service was good. Food was excellent: we went for the £20 “we’ll put together a menu” option which was more food than the five of us could manage and all very tasty. If you want lively atmosphere beat to go on a Saturday night as apparently they were very busy...

    Was very disappointed with the service, we ordered a ‘can’t decide’ menu and they told us they would explain what we were getting. Waited ages for our drinks. One dish arrived cold. When I politely pointed it out to the waitress, she just looked at me and said, yes? She then upon request took it to be reheated. The rest of our food arrived and we had no clue what we were eating. Food was tasty enough, service was really bad. Very disappointing, Wouldn’t bother again.

    Only issue was linked to our order for dessert. We got forgotten and by the time the waitress remembered, our choices had gone. However we were given complimentary ice-cream as an apology.

    Dined here on a saturday evening. Music was way too loud - even after asking staff to turn it down. Rowdy crowd - perhaps due to the rugby? I would recommend to people ages 30 and under, did not think it was family friendly at all. Food was delicious and staff were pleasant.

    The staff provided my girlfriend with a special cocktail for her birthday and couldn't do enough for us. The decor is prettyu basic but this is part of the charm. Overall, very happy with this place and a wonderful time

    What a fabulous restaurant. Never had Sri Lankan food before but we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was excellent the girls very informative about the food. I am gluten free and 90% of the food was brilliant for me. I would thoroughly recommend you try it

    Went there before an International match and the place was perfect, it was really busy but the staff were always polite and attentive to our needs. I would heartily recommend it especially if you enjoy sharing lots of varied food dishes with your friends. Eating here was one of the best parts of the day.

    Considering the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived we found the service to be quite slow, but it was friendly and we appreciated the guidance on how much to order. The food itself was different and really tasty, so we'll definitely be coming back (particularly as there were so many veggie/vegan dishes on offer).

    The pina colada sharing drink we was informed it would serve two and a half glasses which it did not and the fried rice did not have hardly any chicken or egg.

    Terrific atmosphere, exceptional food, you can not go wrong with anything on the menu, all delicious and one of a kind, have not experienced food like it anywhere else! The cocktails are amazing, full of flavour, beautifully mixed. The ambience is really homely and fun, you feel relaxed and it is so easy to enjoy yourself there. A go to hot spot for us!

    We were seated over 15 mins and no one had come to see us. I had to approach the bar where a few staff were chatting to ask for service. Overall the lack of service left me cold. Food was lovely.

    Amazing food! Let the Chef decide, 7 or 8 dishes and each one fantastic. They were still training staff up so not running as smoothly as it should yet but all polite and friendly. Music was loud and therefore so was the talking and this might put off some.

    Fantastic atmosphere, great music and decor, the staff were really welcoming and enthusiastic in explaining g how the menu worked. The menu read really well, the food was very tasty but was way to spicy with not enough mild to medium foods on the menu, so I couldn't each much other than the rice and breads. It would be amazing if there were more foods that were not so spicy hot hot. A great place to go as a couple or as a large group to dine with.

    The food was extremely tasty. We chose 6 dishes between 2 which was ample, no room for desert. Every dish was amazing. The cocktails looked fun too, served in elephants, we didn't have any though, maybe next time.

    The food was excellent, the noise level was just bearable, the service was poor as we kept having to ask for our order to be taken etc. The staff collected the credit card payments before the final drinks were served and before they had brought us our bill! I didn't like the bench seating. However, the food was excellent, I have never tasted anything like it before in my life and I would definitely go again.

    One of the best places we’ve been to. Food full of flavour, drinks amazing and staff were welcoming and made the experience even better. Pity we live so far away because we would make The Coconut Tree one of our regular restaurants. Amazing food!

    We were really excited to try this restaurant but left bitterly disappointed. On arrival we noticed it was cold, even the waiter had his coat on. We ordered the goat and potato curry, pumpkin curry, aubergine dish, rice. The vegetables dishes arrived in good time but luke warm. It cooled very quickly in the dining room. The Goat didn’t arrive and when we queried this we were told they had forgotten to tell us they had sold out. We were asked if we wanted something else instead and were given a menu. The waiter never came back to take a second order. After this we just wanted to leave. We did get a 50% reduction on the bill but we would have preferred to pay full price and have come away satisfied. On the plus side the pumpkin curry was tasty just not very warm. We don’t live locally but wouldn’t return if we did.

    Having visited one of the Coconut Tree's in Bristol we were looking forward to going to the Cardiff one. We had a table in the large room on the right of the entrance which is not particularly inviting. It was cold and very noisy. The staff didn't seem to be very organised and they checked our name a couple of times. The drinks were not very prompt in being served. The food was however very good with the exception of the banana dessert which looked very unappealing. They gave us the wrong bill, one that was obviously for another table. Fortunately we spotted this and had to wait whilst they sorted the issue out. There were a lot of people in the room so you would expect it to be warm but it was not. Also the noise level was so high that conversation was difficult. I would not recommend going on a Saturday evening and we are unlikely to visit again.

    Food was amazing but service was absolutely shocking. We had to ask multiple times for them to take our drinks order then our food order. If you’re in a hurry don’t bother. We were also in a really cold drafty area but they wouldn’t move us so we moved ourselves when the people next up us left. Very small tables too, we were very cramped. But as I said, food was great and there’s a lot of it.
