4 of the dishes we ordered never arrived but we were initially charged for. Staff were able to sort it out with only a little fuss. The food, what came of it, was well cooked but not sure the amount was worth the price. Doubt we will be going back.

Been to Sri Lanka several years ago and enjoyed the food With a restaurant opening in Oxford , my daughter (23) and I just had to try It was all So good .. we ordered about 5 dishes to share .. all were good ; recommend the cuttlefish and the coconut Sambal .. good roti too

We loved the food! It was worth waiting over an hour for! Not really sure what happened as no one said but we arrived at 8.10 for an 8.15 booking. Were seated around 8.30pm ish then our food came at 9.30pm. But we loved the place.

Fantastic Sri Lankan food! The rice and curries were really good. Great ambience too. The girl at the reception was so lovely, always smiling and helpful adding to it a touch of the Sri Lankan hospitality and warmth.

Delicious food and excellent service including a free Birthday cocktail for myself and a friend. Ambience was scored lower as we were the only ones in but it was a late weekday afternoon! Have also visited their Cheltenham branch and would highly recommend their yummy food and the tasting menu.

Had a really lovely meal here - chose almost all vegan dishes, but couple of our party had the cheese dish too. Amazing choice of vegan tapas - everything was delicious. Staff gave helpful advice and recommendations on what to pick. Great value and child friendly. Can’t recommend enough. Will definitely return :)

This is a brilliant little restaurant, supported by enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable young staff. The Sri Lankan food was a revelation – light-years better than the bog standard high street Indian offering, and quite delicious. As usual, we ordered too much and were embarrassed about not consuming it all. We will know better next time, but will certainly go again

I love that it was different. The food was interesting, vibrant, plentiful and flavoursome. We opted for the ‘so you can’t decide’ house selection. This let us sample some amazing dishes and, in an unusually customer friendly quirk, allowed us to select a couple of plates to be included. At £20 per head, that was amazing value. They have a nice drink selection and the atmosphere is buzzy. Could they sharpen service a little, well maybe. There were a couple of little errors - but it didn’t detract from our evening. Thoroughly recommended.

Food was really nice, tasty and lots of vegan choice which was really refreshing! I’ve only marked them down a little for the service because we ordered some beers to go with our food and they forgot them. Once prompted again by us they were very apologetic and offered the beers for free which was lovely of them. I really recommend this place for casual and tasty eats.

An understandly busy restaurant on Valentine’s Day. Myself and my girlfriend had a great experience. Only uncomfortable thing was that our table was right next to an active gangway to the kitchen and toilets and so it felt a little like we were squeezed in! Won’t stop me from coming back though I’m sure.

Great birthday dinner out, 4 adults and 2 kids aged 9. It’s an informal but comfortable setting with music audible but not too loud. The cocktails were delicious and quickly replenished as required. The menu has loads of options so being Sri Lankan street food beginners we opted to let them choose us a variety at £20 per head. The kids ate a less spicy chicken rice and chickpeas dish for free. If I could advise on any areas of improvement, it would be to offer a plain ice cream for kids, but then again, I was quite happy to see my son try the coconut one. Our table was booked for 5:30. By the time we left circa 8:30, the place was heaving, so booking is essential. Thoroughly recommend.

Interesting menu, and some dishes were very good, e.g. clay pot fish, egg hoppers. But hot battered spicy cuttlefish had almost no spice, and if I hadn't been told I wouldn't have known it was cooked in a Sri Lankan style. Service helpful, but as the restaurant filled up it got a bit disorganised. (We ordered a roti that never came.) But overall good, good value and we will go back.

The food was fantastic. Service was awful. We had tried to go the week before, but they were randomly closed (in January) for their staff Christmas party. So, we decided to call before going this time. I tried a total of 6 times. After the first 3 I decided to leave a message, but the mailbox was full. So, I booked, but I wasn't sure if they would be open. I ended up calling 3 more times (after the opening time) but it wasn't until a good 8 min after opening that someone responded. Once we arrived, the service was mediochre. Very nice, but really could not be bothered. Food took a long time to arrive. And we were the only ones in there, so there was no excuse, really. Food was fantastic though.

Great food, variable service. Had to get us moved from the backroom as the table next to us had a dozen shouting hockey players on it and the noise level actually hurt my ears . I actually couldn't hear the waitress standing next to me. That room needs some soft sound deadening, possibly on the ceiling as it's unbearable. Drinks took an age to show up as did desserts and the bill. Serving staff were really friendly and nice but were pulled in too many directions.

Food was perfect, all staff that dealt with us were friendly and efficient. Our eyes were bigger than our bellies so we took the left over food in nice takeaway boxes and had it for dinner the next day. We will be back for sure.

Friday night at the coconut tree, the place was packed to an inch of its floor space, with not much room to stretch out. The food was really tasty and the service was exceptional, an explanation of the dishes were spot on. All in all a lovely evening.

Its a lovely place to eat, but its the second time I've been there where they messed up our order. We had to wait for the first things an hour and some things didn't arrive at all and only after asking for it three times. The service is very friendly but their organisation is poorly.
