The Copper Clam
We have a private dining area and cater for large groups and parties.
Just such clean fresh food. Great staff too
The best oyters I've ever had. Service is excellent, I can only recommend.
Excellant food, wine and service.
Having outdoor seating may be cold as winter approaches and at the moment sea view blocked by building works.
Great food, great service and we will definitely be back!
The food is very overpriced for what you get by about 30%
We ordered tempura oysters and had to send one back as it was literally a crumb of oyster in batter.
The scallops were overcooked and tiny - 3 for £10 is far too much
A gin and tonic for £10 is festival prices!
The platter for 1 was not worth £30 - not the best quality of lobster or prawn I have ever had
Lovely meal in the sun - great food and excellent service.
Excellent food and lovely staff. All around, excellent.
We dined with friends at the weekend and enjoyed ourselves so much we managed to get a table for two, two nights later and the food was just as good. The best mussels I have ever tasted. Thanks for a great evening.
I had been looking forward to trying The Copper Clam for a long time after hearing good things and as it was my birthday coming up it was a good reason. Unfortunately it was a bit of a let down. We waited quite a while for menu’s then when we ordered drinks the waiter then dropped one in my lap. We then waited 50 minutes for our starters & when they arrived one was wrong. Although once we got the correct starters they were nice. We then had a long wait again for our mains, which were nice but not extraordinary, especially as they are a bit dearer than other restaurants. It was a busy Friday night but if they can’t cope with a full restaurant maybe they should reduce the covers. Unfortunately the service wasn’t great and the wait times were to long so we skipped dessert. We won’t be rushing back which is a shame as we were so looking forward to it. It might have helped if the staff explained they were busy & their might be a wait but nothing was mentioned and no apologies were made for the errors made or the time taken. The restaurant was also extremely noisy so it wouldn’t be a great place to recommend for a romantic dinner.
Great birthday lunch superb food and amazing waiter Rudolfo thank you so much for looking after us
Really pleasantly surprised at this The Copper Clan, great venue, great location. the food was really well cooked and presented and the service was good, attentive but not over intrusive. definitely coming back and would reccommend to everyone, in fact I already have......
Excellent scallops for starter, sea bream for main.
Great selection of seafood in a lovely location. The staff were lovely and welcoming
Excellent service and very good food made the occasion very enjoyable.
Excellent food, friendly and fun atmosphere and service
We were welcomed with enthusiasm and our every need attended to. Water brought immediately with wine list and menu Table in the window as requested. However, through no fault of the restaurant the view is into a building site compound which we feel will be there for some time. So not a view of the sea as we had wanted I do hope they are receiving compensation or a reduction in their rates for this blight
The food was good not exceptional, rather a lot of salt used and the cod sauce appeared to be a weaker version of the muscle sauce/juice my partner had for his starter. His fish was served with a slice of toast not very exciting it may be the trend but!!
It is a lovely restaurant inside and I wish them well
Birthday meal on 15th June. Great place. Fantastic waiter and Bangin food! Excellent
Food was ok , one of our orders was mistakenly not put through. So one person was left without food whilst three started dining. When my food did arrive it was cold and not enjoyable.
Fantastic dinner on the sea front. Lovely service. Great sea food
This was our first visit to the Copper Clam and won’t be our last! We came to Brighton from Oxford for the day and evening celebrating our wedding anniversary, we had a lovely evening and felt very welcome as soon as we walked in!
The atmosphere was great with great service and very friendly staff!
As for the food, this was excellent too!
See you all again soon!
Amazing service from the moment we walked through the door, the waiting staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and the steak cooked to perfection I would definitely recommend!
Great little venue overlooking the sea. Service was warm and friendly. It got quite busy all at the same time, so we waited 45 minutes for our starters, which was a shame, as the mains came very quickly afterwards. The lobster was delicious! would definitely go again.
Sadly currently sea view obstructed by current council works, but otherwise a perfect setting, with marvellous food and service.
We had an okish time. The seafood platter wasn’t as good as I have had in Brighton before in other restaurants, the lobster was dry and hard and it was just all a bit over steamed ...
the service wAs good but the construction works opposite and the souvenir shop next door detracted from the beach front fine dining experience.
Comically bad anniversary meal. Perhaps the chef hadn’t turned up.
Staff lovely but food was disappointing.
Lovely, early Summers evening spent here for my birthday. Wine was very nice & my fish was lovely.
Delicious main course and the kids food was superb. Desert was average, lemon tart needed to be more lemony.
Excellent service overall. Food choice was very nice and the value-for-price was very good. We had a fish based dinner and the quality and freshness was top notch.
A very pleasant evening made even better by Lorenzo the waiter. Attentive, entertaining and always ready to answer to our needs.
Will most definetely go back.
One of the best places on the south coast true sea view dining and first class professional staff that are attentive and make sure you have an excellent time.
Hervorragendes Essen, vor allem der Rochen. Sehr aufmerksamer Service!
Great service though food wasn’t amazing considering what we paid for it.
Macaroni cheese was tasteless and fillet steak was full of gristle. Lobster was expensive but nowhere near the best we have had.
Wonderful restaurant - food is gorgeous, but the staff make it - very attentive & welcoming
Very welcome and Happy
Initial service attentive but as restaurant became busier it was difficult to get attention. Requested lobster however it seemed possibly precooked and was barely warm on arrival. No real garnish with and requested some salad and French beans as sides - they took further 30 minutes to come when everything else was finished.
There is also construction work obstructing the view of the sea / beach.
Has potential to be really good with a few tweaks
I was pleasantly surprised with the Copper Clam as I wasn't expecting to have booked anything other than the ordinary as it was a late booking for a Friday evening.
The cooking was first class. Simple dishes with a clever touch of one or two of the ingredients creating a complementary surprise on the palate which really elevated the dishes. Generous portions, a wine list that was light on the pocket, great food, what wasn't there not to like.
Had a lovely lunch with a friend for her birthday, food was delicious,I have been many times before and never disappointed. Staff are very attentive
Superb location from a first floor table by the central window looking out across Brighton beach to the sea. Affable hosts who know their food and drink and deliver with a sensitive service, neither rushed nor absent. Great quality food and more than reasonably priced and a great choice of gins and accompaniments. Will definitely return.
