We were in Brighton for one day only and took our friends out for dinner. 4 of us absolutely enjoyed it! Excellent service and each dish was perfect too. We’ll be back for sure next time we are in Brighton and happy to recommend.

We had a very nice valentine's meal. The food was good and the service was very welcoming and polite. The valentine's was maybe a tad on the pricey side but still worth it.

The salmon is to die for & I had the orange cheesecake with a pistachio base & clementine sorbet which was creamy & delicious & a generous portion so I could share.

We had a delightful conversation with the couple sat next to us as the atmosphere is warm & friendly.

The owners & staff are friendly & truly caring.
Another great experience & Copper clam is still my favourite restaurant in Brighton.

Fantastic restaurant on Brighton seafront. Booked for a birthday meal and enjoyed bespoke cocktails and lovely fresh shellfish platters. Staff were very informative about both their drinks and food menu. Highly recommend!

Came for my mums birthday lunch, was disappointed that there were no oysters as we had a 50 minute drive and mainly came for that. Quite a few dishes were not available. Would come back again as food we did have was nice. Hopefully they will have everything in stock next time

Oil it was new year's Day so some items were no longer on the menu, but the staff were very apologetic and discussed other option such as Jake and chips instead of cod and chips, etc. Good wine selections friendly front of house and we'll cooked and presented food at a leisurely pace.

Chose to go to the Copper Clam because of the range of fish dishes on the menu and it didn’t disappoint! We had a starter and then had the crab sharing platter with a side order of fries. To be honest, we probably didn’t need the starter or fries but we (I) had a good go at finishing them! The sharing platter was really good value with 6 oysters (which they changed to Rockafella instead of ‘natural’), a mountain of prawns (small and large), langoustines, mussels and a large crab to pick through. It took forever to eat and was great fun! Fortunately we had a lovely bottle of French rose wine to help fill the gaps in between mouthfuls. The service was of the highest standard without being intrusive, which some restaurants find hard to achieve. All in all, we had a really lovely evening and would definitely eat there again. Thank you.

This was our first trip to the Copper Clam. I'd never heard of it before and neither had any of my family who are all local. I don't know how it escaped us all. What a great restaurant. The food was delicious and the decor just really cool and funky. The service was exceptional attending to our every need. We had an amazing night and would recommend to anyone looking for a restaurant with atmosphere and style.

The food was quite nice but sadly all served on cold plates. Lobster bisque was therefore tepid. One main course out of 4 was sent back as cold. It returned to the table in the amount of time a microwave may take. Other mains were getting cold as, again, plates were stone cold. A shame because the service was impeccable - attentive, courteous and professional - the best part of the experience by far.

We've been regularly going to this restaurant since it opened and it never fails to disappoint. Great location on the seafront and all tables have a seaview. Fish quality is top drawer and menu choice for both fish and non-fish eaters is excellent. Highly recommend the fish platters and nice to see not being done on a bed of ice. The wine list has a great selection with prices starting at very reasonable prices and Kay and her team always great to recommend if you can't decide. The cocktails and drinks are prepared with great attention to detail. Love their gin drinks and highly recommend the bloody marys. The staff are very friendly and the most professional team I've come across in a long time with no request too great. Lorenzo is outstanding and always a pleasure to deal with.

This is a small but classy restaurant on the beach and overlooking the sea from its top floor dining area. Fabulous menu, mainly seafood with a steak option, delicious, beautifully served and with charming staff.

We arrived an hour and a half early ( don’t ask!) but were welcomed in anyway and offered a window table.
This was a special birthday celebration, and gorgeous cake and candle was a welcome touch.

A memorable evening in all respects, all good, and the owners deserve excellent praise and every future success. Thank you!

The inside of the restaurant is mediocre. Service was quite good. Food was very bland - no seasoning and no real flavour.. I had dressed crab and mussels. Both very disappointing.. The crab was literally crab with some under ripe avocado and salad. The mussels were in a very watery 'broth' with no flavour and no seasoning. Very disappointing. My husband had fish and chips. The chips were very good, fish was average. On the plus side the desserts were excellent. Chocolate brownie was delicious as was my husband's. The restaurant had an odd layout upstairs and lacked atmosphere. We thought it was very expensive for what it was.

I can honestly say this was the worst meal we have had for years. We were “greeted” by the lady owner who proceeded to leave us standing in the entrance while she chatted to two people with a dog, got the dog some water and fussed him.. eventually she took us upstairs we were impressed with the lovely setting but that was the last thing we were impressed with sadly....the service was very slow . My starter - prawns in lobster bisque - the prawns were mushy and not the freshest.. my partners scallops were the smallest I’ve ever seen and were rubbery- they were so overcooked. They were followed by surf and turf- the ribeye steak was tasteless tho “35 day aged”. Our friends monk fish was over cooked and his kale was virtually raw. Our chips were nice!! Desserts were no better, I could go on... when asked at the end of the meal if everything was ok we did very politely explain the above and the lady owner came to talk to us.. she maintained everything was fresh.. her response was the she knew which section in the kitchen was responsible???? She did give us all a complimentary glass of dessert wine each. The prices are not cheap and we ended up paying £115 per couple for mostly inedible food.. but good chips!

We arrived in the midst of a heavy downpour of rain and appreciated the welcome and helping hand with drying out and storing our wet raincoat and umbrella. Service was good throughout and we were promptly served each course. There was an excellent range of fish starters and mains, as you would expect from the name. There were enough vegetarian dishes and a choice of steaks. Everything was well prepared with tasty sauces. My only quibble was that the steak was slightly over-seasoned.

The food overall was lovely and the prices were reasonable, however I went on quite a cold evening and I had a few issues with the temperature of my food (both starter and main) ..I did actually have to send starter back , the replacement was lovely, but then the side with my main meal was only lukewarm. The restaurant manager deducted the cost of the starter and gave myself and partner a dessert wine each, which I felt was very acceptable compensation for the issues I had

We dined at Copper Clam on Saturday for a special birthday meal with friends (4 in total), which was sadly anything but special. The food was terrible and expensive I would not recommend for foodies there are much better fish restaurants in Brighton.

Our starters of prawns and lobster bisque was so disappointing the lobster bisque had no flavour and the prawns were not cooked nicely they seem to have been boiled. Calamari and Oysters were as expected but nothing special. The mains were the real issue. First of all two of us ordered Skate wing unfortunately the skate itself was clearly not been prepared well and was not cooked well so was like jelly and very unappealing. The sauce which was advertised with the fish was non existent and instead a balsamic glaze was drizzled all over the plate not what you want with fish. The fish was not seasoned and lack any flavour so we sent it back. When we complained the owner was not very happy and said they would take only one off the bill. So we had to argue our case which is not what you want on a special night out. Reluctantly the owner said we could order something else so we ordered the mussels and a steak. Well sadly the mussels were full of grit and uneatable and the steak was over cooked. We sent the mussels back which the owner did apologise for but we did not dare order anything else. The other two meals a cod dish with polenta lacked any flavour and a 'specials' dish of pasta, cream, peas and prawns with a sea bass fillet on top again lacked any flavour and at £26 was ridiculously over priced.
