Enjoy your meal with stunning sea views from the upstairs dining room and sheltered patio if alfresco is your choice. We specialise in fine fresh seafood served in a relaxed environment, with an extensive selection of beers, wines & spirits.

Our 30th anniversary so a special occasion,booked an inside table with a window, on turning up told they were short staffed and therefore we couldn’t sit inside. As we had no jackets this soon became cold, we were also sat near to the entrance which meant we had the footfall of the sea front path constantly going past
Food was very good and good value for money but ambience unfortunately let this very special occasion down

Lovely staff and phenomenal food,the kitchen were happy to oblige a request to substitute an item for us.
Quite pricey but couldn’t fault the entire evening.

Lovely staff, the bar tender was mixing us up different cocktails, really enjoyed our night, we had a table in the window, the food was good, although portions a tad on the smaller side but would definitely go again

Due to covid I expected things to be exceptional but the starter was small and cold, main was bland and cold. If you are a regular customer you are treated like royalty but otherwise I feel we were being pushed into ordering drinks to boost profits.

Also as its a fish restaurant that is on the seafront I wouldn't expect them not to run out of lobster. It turns out the lobster we ordered went to the more regular customer and we had to choose something else from the menu. It doesn't make me want to return and be a regular customer.

For two meals, 4 drinks it came to £170. Sadly as we only had cold cod I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

We headed to Brighton on Sunday 5th July for 4 days. A friend told us to eat at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. It was a pleasure from the moment we entered the premises until the moment we left.

Attentive, kind staff; amazing food and wine. A little expensive but worth every penny. Thank you.

We had quite a late booking at 9.15pm which I think let us down. The lights were very bright, there were big groups that were very drunk & loud in a small space and some parts of the food tasted it they were prepared hours before. I would return, but more of a causal lunch, I don’t think it had the romantic seaside energy we were hoping for the evening.

I am really sorry to leave a poor review - the food was OK but the reason for the poor review was the lack of coronavirus preparation. We were excited about going out for a meal but were really concerned that most of the waiting staff were not wearing masks, we could see into the kitchen where staff were not wearing masks and we were seated very close to other diners. Even small things like the toilet roll holder being broken meant that we had to pick up a toilet roll that others had touched - this did not feel safe. The experience felt like Covid-19 had not happened which really concerned us - apart from two people wearing masks there was no sign of changing practice. We hope the restaurant receives this feedback and acts on it. We really want restaurants to thrive in the current climate, so please put some basic precautions in place.

Delicious Celebratory Dinner!
Tempura Oysters with aperitif followed by 3 lovely courses. Stand out dishes were the Seared King Scallops with roasted cauliflower and stunning Fish Cataplana - perfect for a wet and windy night!
Service was very friendly attentive and well paced even kindly adding a candle and song to the indulgent Chocolate Fondant desert in birthday fun!
An absolutely delightful evening in a lovely local little restaurant in the seafront arches!
Many thanks to all - will definitely return when next in Brighton and recommend!

What an amazing little find! We booked dinner here last minute as we were staying in Brighton for the night. Beautiful little family run restaurant under the arches. Owners and staff couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive (I’m 6 months pregnant and they were especially caring about finding us somewhere to sit with enough room for the bump!) food was incredible. We had moules followed by the freshly caught skate and a fillet steak. Everything tasted super fresh. Lovely cosy atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

March. Weather: average. View, not what it might have been. Everything else: fabulous!

A great menu, with sensible specials on top, a good wine list, very personable staff throughout and then the food arrives and it really is very good.

We visited the Copper Clam during the lunch period and were given a lovely table by the window upstairs. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were made to feel welcome. The service was excellent from start to finish, the menu had plenty of options without feeling cumbersome and the wine options accommodated all tastes.
We had moules, oysters and a dish from the specials which was monkfish (wrapped in parma ham) with a lovely hot sauce and cooling coconut ice cream.
The meal was all well cooked, seasoned and presented and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant was quite quiet when we dined with perhaps 30% of the tables occupied, the noise was low with tasteful music in the background. I can imagine the space feeling a little more lively with a few more covers but I would happily dine here again.

The Copper Clam was a gorgeous treat. Once we found it (do not us a google link - it takes you to the wrong place), we were greeted by a small, charming and wonderful team who gave us a window table. The restaurant is wonderfully decorated, unpretentious with a large and reasonably priced wine list with a great selection of food for fish lovers and for those who aren’t partial to seafood. We had a lovely romantic dinner in the small warm haven of the Copper Clam while the winter hurled around outside. What a lovely place to discover - we will definitely be back.

We went here for my husband’s birthday.
From the minute we walked through the door the lady that greeted us was so nice friendly and welcoming. We was the taken upstairs the welcome from the waiter was very warm and friendly. The whole atmosphere and decor was amazing. The service we received and the food was first class we can’t wait to go back. Thank you for making my husbands birthday special.

Beautiful restaurant, the food was wonderfully cooked and all tasted delicious. The tables were very close together would be my only fault, we felt like we were dining with 4 other people! The waiting staff are fantastic and very attentive, very helpful with questions on the menu and help with recommendations.

Enjoyed our first trip to this restaurant - great food and service - only slight negative was the accompaniments being a bit delayed in being served and the ‘green beans ‘ side dish was actually mostly broccoli! Otherwise, no complaints! PS the Sussex bubbly was fab!

We went to the Copper Clam with friends for NYE and had a wonderful time.

Each of the seven courses was beautifully executed and presented. The timing was really good - we didn't feel rushed or under pressure.

The service was second to none, staff were friendly and happy - despite having to work on NYE!

This is my second time in the Copper Clam and will definitely be back.

Celebrating my 50th Birthday weekend and Kay and her team couldn't have been more welcoming or done enough for us. Food/wines/drinks - everything here hits top note again. Service - second to none of any London restaurant yet the the prices are good value for money and excellent food - definitely the best oysters to be had as long as with all the other seafood options. Specials always excellent and a treat to see Lorenzo fillet a whole fish. Love this restaurant and the staff - make every visit special
