The Copper Clam
We have a private dining area and cater for large groups and parties.
Awesome place. Loved it. Great service and amazing seafood.
The food was lovely but when we arrived (which was first sitting) they were not ready for guests. Stood for ages in the door way for a table to be ready in an empty restaurant at 5pm.
Service was ok to start but our mains took 40 minutes after starter. Not offered any deserts after plates cleared and had to find someone to pay and leave.
Good food. Service could have been a lot better. Considering the food price point was a bit disappointed.
being along the beach, this place is all about the location and view
Food and service were all good
Lovely place, great food, superb wine!! Really nice atmosphere
Great little seaside spot for a romantic dinner or catchup with friends. Spanking fresh seafood and fish, friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. We had oysters (tempura and Rockefeller), seared scallops and grilled tiger prawns, cod fillet and the Catalans stew was amazing. And a baked Alaska to share, everything was delicious, just the sauce of the prawn dish was overly hot/spicy. The lights were a bit too bright but they dimmed them as soon as we asked and lit candles. Right on the beach, great wine selection too I’d definitely go back.
Very quiet on the beach. The food took a really long time to come out. Very expensive for what it is.
We booked for a special occasion with the intent to have fresh lobster. After we sat down, they explained there was no lobster brought in that day. We left very disappointed and were made to feel it was our fault for not ordering the lobster at time of the reservation so they could prepare.
Greeted by a very rude man who told me that he didn’t reserve good tables for open table and because I had chosen standard seating (which I assumed was inside as the only other option was outside) I had to sit outside or share a table with someone else. He was in no way apologetic or helpful when we said we were happy to wait for a table of 2 inside so we didn’t actually eat here I can’t comment on the food but the menu looked great hence why I booked it I will think really hard if I ever want to book here again as the restaurant next door was amazing
Staff very friendly and helpful, our starters were excellent as was one of the main courses, unfortunately the other was cold and took too long to be replaced. Lovely atmosphere and decor, we would try again next time in Brighton
We went out for a date night the first time, i think in 3 years. The Service was incredible friendly and we even got offered a fabulous seat with view to the sea. The food was out standing and all in all a fantastic night, could not be happier. Thank you copper clam team
all very good food, fresh fish and excellent meat! excellent choice of wines! recommend it
Perfect steak outside, charmingly haphazard service, bit pricy, but will go again for another perfect steak.
Very disappointed, food not great, service really bad (staff arguing in front of everyone). Really over priced and felt cheated for what we had. Sad times
Amazing food and location, well worth the visit if you’re Brighton. Service was outstanding.
Great food. Very tasty. Beautifully presented. Knowledgeable staff. Overall, a lovely evening.
Really enjoyable evening, friendly staff and delicious food. Lovely spot to dine on the sea front.
Amazing food. Best mussels I’ve had. Great view too.
Sergio and the team are just awesome felt welcome from the moment we walked in….food was as always delightful…see you very soon
A cosy restaurant under the arches with friendly and attentive staff.
Service was excellent as was the food and wine. My only criticism… my steak was slightly under done… but that didn’t stop me enjoying it :-)
Will definitely be going back to try the sea food platter… which looked amazing..
Very friendly and inviting atmosphere. Delicious food, will definitely be coming again.
Thank you for a lovely evening!
As a lone female I was well looked after given a lovely table by the window to watch the world go by food was also lovely and well presented will return
Read the reviews, booked the table, wandered up to it and thought “this doesn’t look like I’d expected given the reviews”. Something about judging books by covers.
The food was absolutely spectacular, the service was relaxed, efficient and super helpful. Had the scallops, which were amazing. Then the steak and lobster, both of which were fabulous and then finished with whatever dessert I could steal from my kids. All of it delicious.
Go eat the food, enjoy the views and have a lovely time.
It was amazing, loved the service and the food
Friendly helpful staff, family business great seafood and good choice of wines all with a lovely sea view. We will be back.
Excellent food & service.
Not very busy so lacked atmosphere.
Can't fault the food it was so nice and served beautifully
Loved this restaurant. Had scallop and pork belly starter followed by the cataplana. Staff lovely and friendly. Service excellent. Nice spot on seafront too
Excellent ambience, really good food and excellent attentive service
Fabulous lunch, great spot for watching the waves. Food delicious, steak tartare was excellent and the crab platter delicious. We were a party of four and can’t wait to go back.
This is a difficult review, the food was extremely tasty however the starters were expensive in terms of portion sizes. We felt that the quality was very good but sadly there was/is a but.
The service was appalling - this isn't about the waitresses they were lovely & very polite but the fact that when we arrived the restaurant wasn't very busy & yet we had to ask for a menu after being left for at least 15 minutes with no attention. We then had to wait over 40 minutes to get our ordered drinks as we sat at our table & then only after we chased them.
We had a nice evening but felt stung by the 20% service charge taking all of this into consideration & found it 'amusing' that the only thing that arrived promptly was our bill!
Would definitely return excellent seafood and service.
Lovely place, amazing position on Brighton Beach, good food, generous portions - mussels very good indeed.
great location, great food and friendly staff ,nothing was too much . A totally enjoyable experience all round.
Staff very friendly, nice family run restaurant. Menu is great but food didn’t quite live up to the expectation but still yummy all the same.
The food… where do I begin?! Absolutely sensational menu! Every course was delicious and such a special experience. The scallops with the pea panna cotta and the steak from the surf and turf will stay with me for a very long time!
The wine list was also incredible. The staff also had a nice amount of knowledge of the wines and helped guide me in a great direction.
There were three absolutely lovely ladies who gave us a wonderful experience from beginning to end- they were kind, knowledgable, funny and also great workers. Hats off to all three of them!
Thank you for such a lovely experience. I cannot wait to come back. 😸
Such an iconic venue.
Shame the weather was as bad as i have known it in BriHo.
But the food more than made up for it, the most decadent crab mousse chips, and the lobster was fresh and simple but none the less tasty for it.
I love clams, any chance of a version of a vongole ? the ones i sampled with the Salmon deserved centre stage.
Glad it rained as we got to dawdle at our table and enjoy a desert. My daughter turned 21 so was secretly hoping for a wee bit of recognition, still I am sure you have a convert there.
Had a lovely meal in the copper clam yesterday. Sat outside in the sun . The cata plana was amazing and baked alaska for dessert was delicious. Would definitely recommend. Will be going again when I next visit Brighton.
Delicious mussels and excellent chips! And lovely position by the sea.
Great location. Pity about the food. Much of the fish/seafood served was not fresh but frozen. The vegetables were frozen and over-cooked. Very disappointing food-wise.
Friendly and great seafood. All with a view of the beach at sunset and to top it all a rainbow over the pier. Informal atmosphere but top class service .
Fantastic meal with amazing attention of service staff
The only negative was my skate was very overcooked and the new potatoes very crushed, so neither mash or chunky. The potatoes also lacked seasoning.
I would, however visit again as the starters and oysters were divine and the service was outstanding.
