The Copper Clam
We have a private dining area and cater for large groups and parties.
Wonderful food and the service is outstanding. Would so recommend this place so much.
Used to like this place but it's really gone down hill. Completely ruined my lobster which was of a weird mushy consistency (didn't even know that was possible), had no flavour and was stone cold. Ordered it grilled with garlic butter but it wasn't even warm enough to melt the butter that was served separately in a small pot. The service was ok only in part to the clumsy waiter who brought some humour and wasn't much unlike being served by Manuel from faulty towers. The manager was very welcoming. People on neighbouring tables playing videos and music on their phones. Not the venues fault but it ruined any ambience.
Delicious food and very friendly service! We had the oysters, scallops and mussels and couldn't fault any of it, so tasty and what a location right on the seafront
We didn’t get a chance to eat at this restaurant because we were completely ignored… gave it over 20 minutes and then decided to leave!
We had a lovely anniversary dinner here
The food was outstanding and service was fab
This was possibly one of the worst meals and experiences I've ever had. They food was terrible, massively over valued, came late with poor service and they tried to ovrt charge us. Worst meal I've had in years.
Bad vibe. Terrible service. Was not seen once we sat down for at least 10 minutes (no menus). One of the waitresses was drunk. Left after 15 minutes as bad vibe. Not worth that experience for the money.
Very nice and excellent food as always
Amazing food, great place and service. We’ll come back!
The food was brilliant. The seafood was all fresh and great value for money. Kay was a lovely host and even gave us a drink on the house to celebrate our honeymoon which was very kind! Will be recommending this restaurant to anyone who plans on visiting Brighton.
Amazing dinner at the Copper Clam. Recommend the platter for 1.
Excellent as always. Andrea the waiter is top class.
Dined here four years previously (2017) and was blown away with the place. Stunning food, fabulous location - 2017’s visit was a real WOW moment and it’s the reason why, when knowing we were going back to Brighton, the Copperclam was my first restaurant booking - but this time, the wow factor wasn’t there. The food was nothing like we remembered from our 2017 visit. I’d like to think our experience was a temporary glitch but I’m not so sure. Such a shame
We had a wonderful meal - the food was of excellent quality and both of our servers were tremendous - can’t wait to go back - don’t have long to wait as I am booked in again tomorrow!
Lovely place, great food, seafront view. Second time ordering the crab platter - we loved it!
A bit disappointing overall. Expected standard to be equal to riddle and Finn's given price equivalency. Stood outside with staff staring at us waiting to be greeted for our reservation, menus were sticky. When you pay £30 for a dish you expect it to have everything listed, no salad was on my seafood platter and half an avocado stuck on the side in the iced water meaning unappetising wet avo.., no finger bowls, no mask wearing of staff (despite being current law), glass of Rathfinny sparkling ordered, served in a marked Fitz glass makes you wonder if they're giving you what you ordered. Location is great for evening sunshine and people watching. £110 meal for two and both came home hungry, not ideal.
Fantastic food, friendly and attentive service. Superb.9
My friend and I really wanted to try their food but when we first asked for a table they said it’s fully booked. We tried booking on the spot and got through. They let us in but let us sit on a table with no shade though we requested for one. They also given us only 1 hour to stay. Mind you, it was during one of the warmest day. People were already looking at us because there are vacant seats and they didn’t even offer us to go inside the restaurant. The food is okay. It’s just the service.
Very angry italian waiter, reluctant to take orders and half the restaurant exposed to sun and no shade…. Very odd!
Such a lovely spot right on the sea front - beautifully laid out and so good to be outside with a fabulous view of the sea.
The food was great although in a couple of cases the portions seemed a little small - the salad served with the steak was in fact just a few leaves. One fillet steak was noticeably smaller than the other. However the taste was great and thoroughly enjoyed the meal out.
Good food, relaxing atmosphere And friendly service. Will definitely go again.
Excellent seafood. Especially lobster thermidor, tiger prawns and crab fries. Pouilly-fuisse very good.
Staff were pretty rude and arrogant which killed it for us. The food made it! Only time they were polite was when we were paying! The blonde girl was exceptionally nice. The gentlemen who served us the majority could do with smiling a bit and not making us feel so unwelcomed!
Great food and location, but the 4 stars was only because service was slightly slow.
As always an excellent meal food to a high standard, service exceptional, ambiance just right for a romantic couple or a group of friends
When we come to Brighton it’s the first restaurant we book
Truly amazing food and great service, couldn’t recommend more!
Courteous friendly reception choice of table 1630 hrs . Good menu and an acceptable wait for fresh cooked food.
Excellent and not over attentive service. A wonderful beach front, sea view experience
Me and my daughter had a wonderful lunch overlooking the seafront at Copper Clam. The service was excellent, speedy, attentive and friendly. The seafood was amazing, the best scallops I have ever had, and I can't stop thinking about the crab fries - extremely tasty. It was a wonderful experience, thank you!
Wonderful food lovely service couldn’t fault it
Excellent food, wonderful family-run seafood sea front restaurant. Highly recommend! Lovely service too.
Excellent food & service
Kay ( the owner ) is a gem of info & caring
Extremely good food, wine, service and location on the sea front. The cost reflects this.
Amazing in every way
A lovely meal for two, food was delicious and service was great. Crab fries were yummy!
We have been coming to the Copper Clam for a number of years when we stay in Brighton. It has always been lovely but last night we went with my daughter and her partner and it was superb. The food was outstanding, the service perfect and all in all a really lovely evening. Thank you
Amazing food and service. The team are so professional and fantastic. So very welcoming. The food is just outstanding and everything you're looking for.
The service was appalling and some of the staff were very rude and not attentive at all. We were not offered the dessert menu. We were also told that we would have to leave the table as they needed it back when the restaurant outside was empty. We had spent a lot of money and were very unhappy with the lack of service. I will not be returning to this restaurant
Amazing food and service as always! The plaice was delicious.
Took myself and my son for lunch and once again it was amazing….oysters, scallops, steaks and octopus all cooked to perfection..:.wonderful service as always …..see you again in 2 weeks 😊
Delicious seafood and excellent service
