Fantastic, well thought out food, really delicious! Owner was friendly and accommodating. Younger staff need to be trained to be a little more attentive but over all I'd highly recommend this restaurant. The quality of the food was a nice surprise.

Once the standard of food and service was outstanding. This is becoming a family tradition to visit whilst on holiday.

Service was appalling, very disappointing been here before and it was excellent. Asked if I could just have prawns and lobster and told they can’t deviate from menu so just ordered half lobster and told it came with salad, it was just a couple of watercress type leaves , asked for some alioli and told they only have mayo and no other sauce. They didn’t come to our table at all unless we put our hands up, didn’t poor the drinks or anything. Such a shame as I won’t want to return.

Excellent seafront option. We stuck to seafood options, which were fresh and tasty. Great service. Good wine list. Comfortable outdoor seating & a great view across the beach and down to the sea. Highly recommended.

Thorough recommend the lobster rolls-lobster in tempura batter is absolute delicious. The moules mariniere too were exceptional .The staff were very helpful and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. We sat outside and watched the world go by. Lovely evening.

Upon arrival we were very welcomed and took a seat on the promenade in a super position. The Lobster platter included the most delicious king prawns and the enjoyment stopped there. The lobster was sparse, langoustines inedible and the service we received upon providing feedback was unbelievably bad. The manager said things like ‘oh that’s weird’! The waitress laughed and the guy collecting the plates was rude. The bill was slapped on the table with the full charge of £85 for the platter and we had to go elsewhere and eat obviously because we were still hungry.
So disappointing.

Despite booking a inside table (a week beforehand) we were told inside was full & had to sit outside. We weren’t dressed for outdoors, so were freezing.
Bread was stale, drinks service was slow (food arrived before drinks) sparkling wine was flat. Food was lukewarm & went cold very quickly (as outside). Muscles were very small. We thought it was over priced for the standard of food, which was nothing special. Wouldn’t recommend.

Being our first time to the Copper Clam we were made to feel very comfortable the atmosphere was vibrant and the surroundings beautiful, the style of the restaurant was very tasteful.

The staff were absolutely brilliant not to I’m your face but attentive enough to make you feel special, the food delivery was timely and delivered beautifully and well presented, thanks to Lili our waitress for making it a special evening we will definitely return.

Food was good and location lovely on a sunny day but service was extremely slow. Had to request more drinks and for table to be cleared after each course. Waiters and waitresses hanging around chatting to eachother not paying attention to servicing tables.

Unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience, other than the nice chilled bottle of Gavi du Gavi. I opted for crab ceaser salad, not a lot of crab and stale croutons. My husband had the prawns which he said were ok. We had a 7:30 table, and after 30 mins we were served. We were told the one special but there was only one left and there was no skate. Surprising for how early it was. My sea bass main was over cooked including the prawns. My husband cod was dry through under the heater too long. The side of sweet potato wedges and beans were both overdone so much so we didn’t eat and requested they come off the bill. Service was slow, unfriendly and they were understaffed. £105 later! We would not return. Much better places to eat. Expensive mistake.

We must have confused the Copper Clam with another seafood restaurant we had previously visited. The sign said fully booked but the place was half empty. The staff were well-intentioned but not well trained. We became suspicious when the bread offered was slices of part-cooked baguette you can (when desperate) buy in bags from the supermarket. The scallops were tiny and the sweet corn tinned. We received our side order of veg before our mains and the waiter was unable to use a corkscrew to open the wine. The food itself (cod and a seafood platter) had the distinct appearance and texture of defrosted fish. The ice in the seafood platter melted into the minute salad. Around us glasses of wine were spilt on customers and food was sent back. We could also hear every word being said by the waiting staff and ‘maitre ‘d’. Not good!
