Excellent Food, particularly the Tempura Cod Cheeks and the Chicken Goujons which my daughter loved. Service was slightly slow

Went here for a special occasion. The restaurant setting is lovely and the ambience was romantic. The waiter was really accommodating and noted the comments I put with my booking about the booking being for a birthday celebration. So that was a positive. Unfortunately the food wasn’t that memorable. It wasn’t bad, just wasn’t as amazing as the other reviews and that’s what I based the booking on. We had fresh bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar. The bread was cold instead of warm. For mains, we ordered fish of the day that came with capers, butter and garlic., fries and salad. The dressing on the fish was bland and new potatoes were just boiled. The salad was delicious. We also ordered mussels in cream and garlic sauce. Again the sauce was really bland. I always expect a punch of flavour when having muscles with garlic. The fries that were served with the dish were overcooked. And there was a lot of grit in the muscles that was really unpleasant and put me off my food. I’ve eaten in plenty of restaurants and never experienced anything like that. Overall, nice place, nice staff, but I said at the time it’s really disappointing to pay for something that you could have made better yourself. Hopefully it was just a bad day but it did ruin the birthday meal.

Very disappointing experience, no atmosphere whatsoever, considering it was Xmas eve there appeared to be very little effort taken into making the restaurant festive, we couldn’t have pre-lunch drinks which was sort of understandable but we should have been able to sit down. Peruse the menu and have a drink, think they were totally inflexible, food was ok, service was very rushed

Great restaurant- very quiet when we went. A little disappointed with the gf options and it would be great if they could offer a gf batter for fish and seafood.

Felt very outdated. Lobster main not good, poor and small wine list and again poor. Service friendly but slow and has to keep asking for drinks and to order. Felt a bit like the 1980s...

Overall, food was good, although one of the main dishes was nearly cold and had clearly been ready waiting for my partners dish. The cold main was re-cooked and was good. The restaurant eventually dealt with it well, did not charge for coffee nor for the bottle of wine which we had ordered with the meal. Live piano music was a bit loud (Friday evening), fortunately our table was at the furthest point so noise level acceptable. Wine choices a bit limited

Outstanding food and service. This is my second visit to the restaurant and I will be back again. Good choice of different seafood and Market fish option was great both times. Live music adds to a special atmosphere.

NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE, I had scallops to start which could of done with caramelizing a bit more, they certainly were not fresh but frozen. Main course for me was catch of the day the catch of the day which was nice and the Bream was of a good size however serving it with just boiled potatoes and a small bowl of poorly sorted salad let it down for the price. The real let down however was my wifes crab. It consisted of a very large (re-used) crab shell with what I could only consider to be a kind of brown crab soup! the legs and claws hidden underneath the shell bore no resemblance to the size of the shell but were from what I would imagine to be a £4.00 purchase from the market, a very overpriced meal. We shared an all right cheese board washed down with port and brandy which again was nice. Including our wine the total bill was £111 pounds, certainly not worth the overall experience. We will not be returning.

Food was exceptional and service was very good without being obtrusive. It was somewhat noisy though. Pretty good social distancing measures. Wine list was very limited and disappointing compared to the standard of the food.

The food was good and the service very good. It was well managed from a covid point of view. The only negative was the pricing. High for what it was and no offers or discounts like other restaurants at the moment, which might explain why only three tables were in use.
