The Cricketers Warfield
Went here for Sunday lunch delicious roast beef with lovely vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Great ambience and friendly staff thoroughly recommend
No easily available gluten free menu on paper or via staff iPad.
Ok passed to Ronseal test. Nothing special either way
My friends birthday and they didn’t have half of the options service very patchy til the manager took over, overpriced for essentially is a country pub no where near fine dining big shame as an amazing venue
Very enjoyable... excellent food and service and we sat outside in the lovely garden! We will be back!
We really enjoyed our visit to the cricketers with friends, good service, good food, lots of choice, will visit again excellent place.
I booked the table online - very easy. When we arrived we were shown to our table immediately. The waiter was friendly, the restaurant had a nice feelung and was very clean. The service was efficient, the food very good - i had dressed crab and my husband had Sea Bass. Will definately go again
Waited nearly an hour for food, place too noisy from music way to loud. Food was just ok as I had fish and chips but others had the chicken dish which they could not eat and left on the plate. Only one waitress who was rushed off her feet and was fairly new she said to the Cricketers. Bad experience not to be repeated.
I had family visiting from Australia and after visiting The Cricketers before and having a lovely evening with great food and service I thought it would be a good place to bring them. The service was terrible, we waited over 2 hours for our food and when it arrived it was dry. There was no appology from any if the staff, they seemed to be making excuses. I understand (from another customer) that there was a problem in the kitchen, but we were not informed of this. We all understand that things happen and go wrong but the attitude of the staff (even the more senior) was very poor, two of the girls were in fact very rude. We asked a number of times how long the food would be and they kept telling us 5 minutes, a real shame. We were not offered any discount or an appology. I will be writing this same review on trip advisor as it is a shame that we recieved this poor service.
Treated a friend a meal on Monday. Food was excellent, service attentive. My friend was very impressed and hope to return soon. For me it's always a favourite place to eat.
There were 4 of us and we all had one of the Sunday roast choices. The food was fine but could have been a bit hotter. All the tables were rather close together with a particularly noisy one just a 3 or 4 feet away, this made conversation rather difficult. Service was excellent and our waitress was warm, friendly and efficient.
Music was very loud during the evening - staff very nice. Food as mediocre and not really tasty
We have been to the Cricketers on many occasions but doubt we will be going back. The music was extremely loud which meant it was very difficult to have a conversation. We asked if it could be turned down, the table was split whether they did nothing or turned it up. We waited over an hour for our food and when it did come there was no apology for it taking so long. We had to go to the bar to ask for more drinks. All in all very disappointing.
We have eaten at The Cricketers for years and have always enjoyed our meals
It was a beautiful evening and the pub was very busy outside. That said, we had booked a table and were seated inside. Our welcome was friendly when a member of staff took notice of us loitering and asked if we were ok. But it took 15 minutes to get the drinks we ordered on first being seated. We never got the water we asked for. There didn't appear to be enough staff to cope with customer demand. Food was okay, mackerel pate was great but the duck salad lacked flavour. Mains were nothing special. The pub itself is lovely and a great setting. I think there just needs to be more staff to get great service and make the food stand out. I would recommend it for a drink but not for a meal.
Food was terrible and Service was appalling. Won't be going there again.
I would recommend the food to friends. The service is not good and the staff a bit abrupt! If you are used to a bottle of wine being opened before showing you and it being plonked on the table with no tasting the wine etc then this is the place for you!
Awful, we sat for half an hour and no one once came over to take our order. Just kept walking past us ignoring usWhen I went to bar staff to ask for the drink bills. They were so rude. Never going there again
Used to like going there but aftet this experience not again. The menu was much smaller than I remember and not just the physical size.
Poor value, a burger for £15 should be special. Fish and chips used to be bigger.
Plenty of places in town but we know of other better places.
Fantastic food and service as usual.
Look forward to returning
This is the third time I’ve been here recently and it’s been very good all 3 times. The food is lovely great choices.
Went for Sunday Lunch. Trio roast very good, service friendly and efficient. Good to be able to get in the garden too, especially for children.
Massively understaffed and staff seemed stressed, food was good
Very nice food! Lovely atmosphere.we had a great evening with friends.
Went for Sunday lunch for a Birthday treat for wife & Mother in-law.
The whole experience was a complete disaster.
Waited long time for drinks to be served, then long time to place orders.
Starters arrived and were all promptly sent back, mackerel pate still had fish skeleton in it!
Asparagus with hollandaise was like thick custard!
Was offered new starters by manager, these also took ages to arrive, by the time the main courses arrived it was 2 hours later.
Whole place was under staffed and very slow, skipped pudding as just could stand it no longer.
In fairness manager did not charge for food, however was not a great experience and will not be going back any time soon!
Service was shocking, Bar man was rude. Only 2 staff running the bar & restaurant. Shame because it would be nice otherwise.
Unfortunately the roasts we had on Sunday were way past there best. Our table was at 5pm & obviously they were left over from the lunchtime under heat.
We have had Sunday lunch a few times before (albeit over a year ago) which was great but this time were very disappointing. Dry meat, rock hard potatoes. Veg was ok.
A friend had a vegan burger which she said was nice.
We were giving a bit of discount but we won’t be going again unless it’s early lunch to get the best of the food!
£21 for dry lamb that we took home for the dog is a bit much! Sorry we couldn’t be positive this time round.
The worst restaurant l have been to really spoilt my son's birthday, no customer service over an hour and fifteen minutes for the main course to arrive. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Long wait for Ham and Chips. Ham buried and tasted old. Wont choose that again
Perfect spot half way to meet up between two friends. Service was perfect food was delicious. Would definitely come again.
The food was very good, but everything took a long time to come out. There didn’t appear to be many staff waiting on the tables. Very noisy when we arrived, but it did quieten down after a while.
If you’re prepared for a lengthy wait for drinks and food, you won’t be disappointed. The food is delicious and I cannot fault. The service on the other hand is clearly not a strong point - we waited 20 mins to be served and then waited a further 45 mins for our food, which was then served without an apology. It’s a shame because other than that it’s a lovely pub with great food and is great for kids too.
All lovely, Linda and Sharon looked after us very well - really enjoyed our entire experience, Thank you 😊
We came here for the fourth time in 2 months for the Sunday Roast and it did not disappoint.
We had Camembert and croquettes along with bread and olives to start and everything was delicious.
Portion sizes are brilliant and the presentation wonderful.
Staff are very attentive. I want to include a special thanks to Linda she was so friendly and helpful. She had 8 of us to look after.
Great service. And the special that night was crusted tuba and was delicious!!
Food was lovely, waiter was awesome, friendly and helpful.
This was a repeat visit with a voucher (that did not cover very much of the meal) following a bad experience earlier I'm the year. Unfortunately, despite being told I would receive good service and attention to food, my opinion has still not been changed. The meal I ordered arrived on a very hot plate , which had obviously been sitting under a hot lamp; consequently the meat was very tough and had not been cooked to my request anyway. It was impossible to cut it up let alone eat it. I thought the staff were very scruffily dressed (I wasn't expecting black tie or anything, this is a country pub), and when we wanted to pay it was hard to get any attention and the "server " was sitting at another table using his phone.
Fantastic food and fabulous service will certainly be revisiting.
Havent been in a while but it is the perfect place to catch up with old friends and enjoy the food and service - have already booked to go back x
There was a 50 year old bday party which I wasn’t aware of when booking, it would have been nice to have been called to warn us. We fought our way through the bar and stood like lemons for 5 mins waiting for someone to show us to our table but the only waiters/waitresses we saw were rushing around. So we went to find somewhere else.
Excellent food and nothing was too much trouble especially when accommodating two different dietary requirements.
