Very personable, friendly and helpful staff, as always. Delicious food with various options available for dietary requirements, including vegan and gluten free. Clean and comfortable!
The best thing about this pub is it’s landlord and his family. A close second is the really amazing food. It’s all top notch, what a find.
Basic food. Bread rolls too hard to eat . Not good value for money
Lovely place tucked away. Great find, dog friendly and very good service. Good food too! Some main course items quite pricey but others were reasonable.
After placing our order we had to wait 35minutes before our food arrived. Far from acceptable.
The food was nicely presented and of good quality. I had roast lamb, which was of a good flavour but had it been hotter would have been far more enjoyable.
Incredible food and service as always. Can not fault.
The chocolate fondant is absolutely amazing.
Really nice place to eat, had a lovely time, service was spot on, atmosphere perfect, and food was absolutely amazing. I would suggest to anybody looking for some real nice food and friendly atmosphere, to give crosskeys a visit
Attentive and friendly staff and the best risotto that I have had in years
On a short family visit to Sherborne and was recommend as also Dog friendly . Was meant to be 5 of us but due to covid on the 2 of us could make it . Staff couldn’t have been anymore accommodating and the food was gorgeous . Can’t wait to go again and next time maybe stay as they may have a dog friendly room . 👍👍👍
Amazing food as usual. Great service, friendly atmosphere. We won’t leave it too long until our next visit.
The food was lovely and the service was really good. Definitely will be coming back again.
Lovely food, we all chose a different dish and enjoyed them all. The waiting staff worked hard hard to ensure our order was dealt with efficiently and were chatty and friendly. I didn't enjoy the mulled wine, I found it too sweet, but that's personal taste!
Disappointed with the portion sizes and lack of prawns and vegetables for the money.
It was tasty though.
Affogato was also disappointing as the coffee wasn't as hot as it should have been but it was still delicious, none the less.
I would still recommend the Cross Keys to anyone wanting a tasty meal.
Delicious food as always,
Lovely atmosphere, great customer service.
Always a lovely welcome & nothings too much trouble here.
Was with a girlfriend and we had the Mushroom risotto with truffle for me, and my friend had the prawn linguine. Followed by the Dorset apple cake with ice cream.
Both absolutely delicious
Food very good. Service was not so good. Young girl wasn't particularly experienced so thankfully chap behind the bar helped out. Too noisy unfortunately but only because a loud group arrived and literally stood next to our table! Will book a table away from bar area in future.
Amazing service, food and atmosphere. 5 stars. Highly recommend
We enjoyed our evening but for what we ordered we thought that it was a bit on the pricey side. Also it would have been nice to see a chicken dish on the menu and over £12 for some desserts is excessive. The staff were helpful and attentive. I think some soft background music would be a good idea especially when it is quiet.
Very nice Sunday lunch, excellent service, nice room with good table spacing. Will return.
Fabulous lunch in the Cross Keys - highly recommend it!
We just love the Cross Keys. Lovely food and wonderful service every time
Sadly young untrained staff on a Sunday. Food however was amazing.
Great version of fish n chips - hake with a pesto crumb and chips. Burgers always good. All looking beautifully festive. Good place to eat and very handy in town with a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Food was lovely, service was outstanding, but portion size was a little on the smaller side, but adequate. All drinks were great. Would recommend and return again.
Good food, good drinks, good service, what more could you want? It was a great night. We both had the blade of beef, which was absolutely luscious, but different desserts. My companion was a little disappointed in his, which is why I removed the star for food.
Totally unrelated to this meal, I do wish the burger on the menu could be restored to how it was when the Cross Keys first opened. I had it a couple of months ago, and really disliked it.
We had a lovely evening at the Cross keys the food was outstanding and the staff are very helpful and polite and mo the owner is a credit to the establishment. The atmosphere is very warming and we will definitely be going back. Can highly recommend.
Excellent Sunday Roast! Very tender beef and lamb, only very minor issue under cooked brussel sprouts.
The staff at The Cross Keys were superb. No request was too much. They were busy as it was Sunday lunch but did everything they could to accommodate us. Food was very tasty - I prefer rare beef, this was slow cooked but was very nice. Good selection of veg that were cooked perfectly. Dessert was outstanding and good portions. Very friendly , professional establishment. Prices were fair.
Very disappointed for our first visit here for Sunday Lunch.
The veg was hardly cooked and the gravy very thin.
Service was sluggish
My second visit was as good as the first! Delicious menu and more importantly all served by the most delightful, amusing and tolerant waiter!
Sherborne is lucky to have such a restaurant.
Worst Sunday lunch in memory, took ages to arrive & was cold, gravy congealed on plate - avoid
A lovely experience. Nice food freshly cooked to order. Helpful, friendly staff.
relaxing with no feeling of being rushed.
Good location, initial impressions of an ordinary pub from the outside are soon dispelled.
Such a nice welcoming atmosphere and great service. Not a massive menu choice but something for everyone.
Always faultless food, great atmosphere, welcoming staff. Highly recommend
Felt very welcome. Lovely food. Staff friendly and pleasant.
Great food and top notch service. A superb Sunday lunch in a delightful setting.
We shall be back.
As always, the
Great atmosphere, amazing food and service. Always book to avoid disappointment.
Fantastic venue, gorgeous food and staff that are attentive and welcoming…..would definitely recommend!
What a wonderful way to spend a lovely couple of hours. I couldn’t fault a thing. Staff were all kind and very well trained.
We are on holiday and The Cross Keys has been the highlight of our week in the food/drink department!
I think the decor and friendliness towards dogs is also worth noting.
Very clean washrooms too.
