Your hosts Sally & Jason welcome you to The Crown at Broad Hinton.

Fantastic meal, brilliant attentive service! Cosy under the gazebo despite the rain!
Really friendly and helpful staff on what must be a busy and stressful Sunday. Food was lovely and despite a few little hiccups with out order we were so impressed with the service and commitment to sort things out we’d like to say a big thank you, other venues should learn from the crown! Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Service was atrocious. We waited for a long time to even get menus. Our starter were never cleared nor were our main courses. We asked for the NHS venue code to check in but also never received. They were busy but every table after us were served before us. Maybe it was because we weren’t locals? Food was mediocre. We asked for our mains and they arrived immediately which would appear were left waiting under the lights for a long time going by the dry texture of everything. Portions were huge. We would have voiced our feeling but no one came near us after dropping our mains. Overall very disappointing.
We travelled considerable distance to meet family and booked an outdoor table for the occasion. Upon arrival despite there being several unoccupied tables we were seated in a marquee and refused the opportunity to sit in the sunshine. The marquee was cold, soulless and extremely noisy because of the breeze. We were forgotten about and had to chase staff to take our order when later arrivals were ordering before us. The burgers were extremely tasty, the fish was okay but the pie was not very nice. It was also difficult to eat one meal out of two boxes. One large box would have been much easier.
Lovely pub in a pretty village setting. Well geared up for covid safe dining. Friendly staff and very doggie friendly. Superb food. All disposal cutlery and boxed food. Make sure you book!
Eating food out of a cardboard box with flimsy wooden cutlery was not much fun.
Great pub near to Avebury with a large and spacious garden with pretty views over the countryside. Fantastic fish and chips, friendly and efficient service and all round a lovely experience.
5-mile walk (there and back again) to the nearby White Horse - public footpath from the back garden.
Brilliant food, service and settings
A lot of thought had been put into creating a very pleasant pub garden. The staff were excellent as was the food. Thoroughly recommended.
Exceptionally friendly & welcoming to both me, my guest and my puppy!
Delicious fish & chips...
Would definitely return.
Lovely atmosphere, great food, scenic back garden. Perfect for children and families. Would recommend.
Brilliant as usual, lovely service and delicious food
Food was average and the clicky locals Ruined the whole meal. Won’t be returning or recommending.
Well organised for COVID arrangements, friendly staff, good food and good value.
Food was delicious, really good.
Due to covid-19 not much atmosphere as only partly full. But all the tables were busy with dinners.
I will return as the food really was great
A lovely place, just out of town. Ample parking, beautiful garden with plenty of well spaced benches. Was a little chilly today but in the summer, it's perfect! A warm welcome, (very Covid19 protection savvy) and our host was very helpful and attentive. We chose from the sandwich menu. I had a beef and horseradish. A very generous layering of beef, fresh, crunchy lettuce with a noticeable amount of horseradish, all in between lovely, springy fresh granary bread. Side salad went well and was nicely presented. There were also some tortilla chips which I think would have been best accompanied with a dip, was a little dry on their own. My friend had the Brie and Cranberry, also on granary. This had bacon and was served warm. He very much enjoyed his too. Wasn't too busy but with things as they are (Oct 2020), it was a good idea to book. Definitely be back again.
We enjoyed the food so much we have now been to The Crown two weeks running for Sunday lunch. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. They have this COVID thing well controlled and we felt really safe. Will definitely be going back very doon
Excellent organisation around Covid and delightful food and service.
A fantastic meal at very reasonable prices and first class service. The staff dealt with a couple of idiots who thought they could mingle very well. The only minus was the noise (one of the idiots) but not the staffs fault. Will definitely be returning.
Friendly staff and good food , had steak and it was cooked perfectly
OUTSTANDING the food the staff everyrhung about the solace is amazing!!!
We arrived just before 6pm and were the first diners in . \The Covid precautions seemed to be comprehensive but not unnecessarily obtrusive , there were bottles of hand sanitiser on every table . We were immediately shown to our table and able to order drinks immediately. Shortly afterwards our food orders were taken by a friendly waiter. The food arrived in a reasonable time ( cooked to order) and was excellent quality and reasonable sized portions.
By the time we had finished the restaurant area was filling up but there was not too much noise. I popped outside for a vape and it did take me a while to get back to my table due to queing at the 'one way' covid system but this didn't impact adversely. The staff were , by now, quite busy and it did take a while to get our bill , but we were in no particular hurry so wasn't a big deal. Overall a very enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings with friendly , if a little busy, staff.
Lovely food, good service and all at a reasonable price :)
