Great Food and Friendly service. Not bad for a local Pub.
We had a great Sunday Lunch. The staff were extremely accommodating and we were made to feel very welcome.
There was also a meat raffle and we managed to win a couple of prizes. Will definitely return.
Food was delicious, the chef answered our awkward questions and made the effort to check up on us after our meal. Will definitely return!
Dirty pub, didn't have our booking in their diary despite booking online earlier that day, served a raw burger to my husband, left us for almost an hour without checking on us, didn't take American Express cards despite bringing the bill out in an American Express folder. Definitely won't be returning.
Excellent, a lovely day and we sat outside - lovely garden for children and dogs.
the food was excellent and it was great to have a room on our own, we had two children three adults and a dog - so our first experience of meeting family after lockdown was great....we didnt upset other people with our noise! and the children could run in the garden and the dog had treats. Great! Thank you The Crown at Gawcott.
Great food, friendly and welcoming. Staff super helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back if we are in the area again.
Amazing Sunday Lunch, great service and attentive staff. We will be back .
Facebook post stated that there were a couple of tables available only. We arrived at 7 pm and until we left at around 9 pm only one other couple came in to eat.
It was set up as a dining room yet there was a huge TV above me playing a football match. There was also a TV playing the same match in the bar. I asked if it was going to stay on and was told only until the match had finished. However, no one turned it off for the whole duration. There was a noisy crown round the bar and 2 dads with 3 children who ran around and in and out of the room. I would say that all the behaviours described don't suit and are not appropriate to a restaurant setting. Certainly, when we go out as a couple for a meal we don't want a TV playing a love us children running around and noisy people around the bar. Apart from dying flowers on the table and a salt pot that was dirty and empty the room looked attractive. It's such a shame as the food was excellent. They also managed my dairy intolerance really well.
not been for about 18 months but still as good. nice for an evening out - not too noisy.
Easy to book, food simple but good both in taste and in amount. Staff helpful and efficient. Ambience nice and rustic. Only issue was the TV being louder than needed. TV should be moved out of the dining area to make it less intrusive for the diners.
We had a great meal here on their Curry night!
My saag chicken was great and my wife loved her prawn korma , which she said was not too creamy as some can be
Those who had the prawn starter agreed at least one more prawn would have helped ... quite small for the price !
The mixed kebab starter was very nice
One of our party had a byriani that was
huge !
We will go again
Welcoming country pub in the centre of the village. A friendly atmosphere and cosy setting. Food menu is limited but interesting and makes for a change from the usual pub fayre. Quality of the food is very good and the service was attentive. Definitely worth a visit - we'll be back!
The roast dinners were nice and a reasonable portion size. Even though we had booked, our table wasn’t ready and we had to ask for menu’s and to order drinks. Apart from that, service was ok.
Great food and service - one of the best roasts I have ever had.
Wonderful meal in this lovely gastro pub. Very talented Chef and we’ve already booked for a return visit to sample more of his cuisine. Highly recommended.
Nice child friendly staff. Excellent Sunday roast.
