    Slightly pricey but good food, it’d be better if there was something for little kids to do in their garden, our little boy was happy picking up sticks outside but a little swingset and slide would have been great

    We had a booked a table and was glad we had as the place was so busy, such a lovely sight especially on a Wednesday. We were returning as food was so good last time. We were told that due to only having two chefs there may be a wait up to 40 mins- this was fine as we were told in advance. Food came quickly considering and was worth the wait. Service was good and the girls are always friendly. We will return.

    First time at the Crown. The food was good and the waiting staff pleasant. Will be back. Not sure why we were asked if our visit was a celebration (it was a birthday) but apart from the waitress mentioning it there was no other gesture.

    We visited the Crown for an early lunch with our five year old granddaughter and our border collie. We were all made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent. The children's menu was smaller servings of the adult versions, so freshly cooked and definitely not condescending to younger customers. The fish and chips were brilliant, as was the burger my husband had. Thoroughly recommended.

    A lovely village pub with a mixture of locals drinking only, and others eating. Great atmosphere for a Tuesday... nice outside space for summer. we will be back !

    We live locally and wanted to try eating out locally. We were not disappointed. The staff were super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a quiet table away from the main bar which is always a bonus when trying to talk and eat. The food was great, very tasty, good portion size and something for everyone including people with allergens. We will definitely return.

    The food was fine the service was ok . We were there as three ladies meeting for a chat . The waitress did keep returning as we were a while making decisions but felt we were a little ‘ in the way ‘ which could have been a fair response .,Just felt a bit disappointed as I’d heard lots of good reviews but maybe my expectations were too high.

    A short notice Valentines evening opportunity, where I presumed we wouldn’t have a chance of booking, surprisingly presented itself in our favour. Although the menu wasn’t as wide ranging as I’d hoped for, the standard of the food ordered was very satisfying. The service was excellent and the ambiance was just right. A very enjoyable evening indeed

    Another Sunday lunch. This time I had the pork, which was very good. Managed to have the cappuccino crème brûlée this time, as it had run out the last time I was there. Was well worth the wait! As usual, friendly and attentive service.

    Service was great. I had broccoli and Stilton soup to start which was perfect. Then I had the Caesar salad, which was nice, but needed a bit more dressing and also could do with adding chicken as really it’s more like a side salad as it is, so not good value for money at all, and not filling. The brownie for dessert was delicious. And the pints were perfect! Service was also faultless. Will definitely be returning.

    Very good Sunday lunch. The beef was excellent- nicely pink in the middle and not at all chewy (as is sometimes the case with a pub Sunday roast). The sticky toffee pudding rounded things off.

    Good varied menu including a specials menu from which I ordered some of the best fresh mussels I’ve had for some time. My wife loved the cappuccino creme brûlée! Great choice of Hook Norton Beers including on-site brewed lager. Plus tasty wines and extensive gin and cocktail menu. Very efficient, polite and attentive staff, all masked up. Nice ambience with a well judged volume of background music. Love it.

    Spotless character local pub with fabulous quality fresh food I had cauliflower soup spiced and Thai green chicken curry Absolutely gorgeous full of flavour The loos had local fresh flowers I’d recommend a visit I’ll be going back for sure
