The Curious Eatery
All of our food is freshly prepared daily and made with love!
Low key but excellent imaginative cooking. We have been 4-5x and always enjoyed it
Loved the quirky ambience it was cosy and comfortable, very relaxing. Traditional Sunday lunch with very tender roast beef with a good selection of vegetables. The Christmas Wreath for dessert merangue with spiced seasonal berries was delicious . The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely return soon.
Staff really friendly. Food tasty. Surroundings warm and inviting
Not first time of visiting but up to it's usual top notch food and drink standard
Always top quality freshly cooked food, warm and friendly service and lovely ambience, made for a great night out with friends.
Had a good lunch with good friends in a good atmosphere. Staff were attentive but we weren't rushed. Overall a nice relaxed Saturday lunch with friends.
Decided on a whim to have a meal and found it so easy to book on Open Table. Staff were, as always, very welcoming and the young ladies serving were a delight and very attentive. The food was wonderful, beautifully cooked and so tasty - it never disappoints at The Curious Eatery. We have enjoyed lunches there, celebrated a golden wedding in the upstairs room and found that nothing is too much trouble for the staff to make your visit one that you will want to repeat.
My Wife a I had Sunday lunch at The Curious Eatery and it was exceptional. The service was really good, especially as there was a really large booking in of 22 that had been seated two minuets before we arrived. We had starters and a main course and my wife had a desert too. At the end of our meal the owner came up and asked us how are meal had been and if we had enjoyed the experience.
Really really great meal :-) going again next week!
Lovely little venue for lunch with my husband. The day menu was quite limited with a few specials. We enjoyed a big slice of roasted veg and brie frittata and a toasted prawn wrap with a side order of fries. Both mains were served with a green salad with a tasty dressing, and a gorgeous creamy coleslaw. Everything was well-presented and tasted lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault them. I loved the venue and the decor. It's fairly small inside so I would advise booking before going, although it wasn't mega busy when we got there at noon. There's limited parking space, but you can park out on the street. I'd love to go back for an evening meal as the specials on the board looked creative and sounded delicious. Overall, a very good dining experience and would recommend if you're looking for something a little bit out the ordinary.
Superb food, friendly staff and lovely ambiance.
A warm inviting place to go for some delicious food. Great menu with so much to choose from! We will be back :)
Amazing food and evening as always. We love going there and will keep going.
Popped in for lunch with 3 children. Have been several times before and loved the Amazebowls and fish wraps, but disappointed with short menu this time, despite the fact that the other menu is still the one on the website. Only burgers were suitable for the kids, which took an age to come even though there were only 2 other tables. I ordered the vegetable frittata, which was ‘unusual’. Very runny and I struggled to find the vegetables, but the coleslaw was nice. Overall, not our best experience here, but we’ll put it down to an off day and will try again soon!
s a local different eatery that is well worth supporting... its a little different, a bit quirky with good service and atmosphere. Well worth our visits.
The food blew me away! I have eaten in some lovely restaurants over the years, but the food here was sensational. Worth a Michelin star in my opinion! And the service was perfect!
Once seated we waited for more than 25 mins before being acknowledged and asked about drinks, we were wondering if we had been overlooked or forgotten at one stage , but got better !
Went with my family of 4 - food was good; super recommend the beef wing rib! absolute delish! The decor was nice and quirky, old chandeliers + barn doors. Ambience was good for casual dining. Would recommend!
Good atmosphere, friendly and effective staff with great food and drink.
The food was great and the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The only criticism is that there was quite a wait between courses, but they were very busy.
We will definitely be back.
Lovely restaurant with super food.Visited twice, both on Sundays.Only one small detail that we found rather disappointing and that was a member of staff showing a bare midriff and running in and out of the kitchen.....not appropriate.Shame to mention it because all the other standards were brilliant.
We had heard some very good things about The Curious Eatery and decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. The food was fabulous and the staff very attentive and friendly. Overall the decor and atmosphere were outstanding with plenty of space between tables so conversation was easy. Really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be going again!
Very good as usual. The Curious Eatery never lets you down. Highly recommended.
We had a Wonderful Sunday lunch and my daughter is in love with their popcorn ice cream.
Friendly service, very good food, nice ambiance and would definitely recommend. Slow cooked 12 hr beef was excellent along with Chapel Down red wine.
Wonderful lunch. Super food, very friendly, lovely place to be. Thank you for having us.
Wow. What a lovely place to spend an evening. Couldn’t fault anything on our experience. From the moment we walked in we were met by friendly and welcoming staff who remained attentive throughout our visit. The menu was full of gorgeous sounding food which made it hard to choose. My wife and I choose different starters and mains from each other so we could sample more of the menu. All the food was wonderfully presented, fresh and absolutely delicious. Towards the end of the evening the chef ( Nicole ) came out and introduced herself - what a lovely character she was too.
Delightful restaurant within the old Albion Pub. Nice range of seasonal specials and a good selection of vegetarian options. The food was imaginative, fresh and delicious. The decor was charming and the service was really helpful and friendly and we are looking forward to returning.
Love this restaurant it’s a favourite always has been from day 1.Friendly.good food, staff jolly.nice location
Amazing food and great service
Had a great time on my first visit and would definitely be going back. Good atmosphere, very friendly and relaxed. The food we had was excellent
Have been twice now and very impressed on both occasions. Has gone on my list of favourites.
A quirky, welcoming place to eat whether it be coffee and homemade cake, which I have had on a previous occasion, lunch or dinner. This visit was for Sunday lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, of very high quality. With friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere, our visit was extremely enjoyable. Definitely a place to return to and I will certainly be recommending it to friends and family.
Fab food and fantastic service! A busy evening but had a lovely meal tucked away in the snug upstairs
Arrived early table wasn’t quite ready as very popular and busy. Waited in the garden for the table to become free unfortunately think we were overlooked as after 10 minutes later than our table should of become available approached the staff. They apologised and accosted is immediately realising the error which to their defence were exceptionally rushed off their feet.
Once at our table service was good and food was cooked especially to order even preparing food not on the menu to suit my quests dietary requirements. The female chef was par excellence and tried to accommodate and welcome us in every way. The food was cooked to a high standard and would recommend trying this place out. I came away feeling very happy with the service, food and overall jovial ambience around the place.
Good service, friendly staff, interesting menu and food was excellent.
Always a pleasure to explore their new dishes.
A real find.
Book for an early table we booked around 8pm they were rushed off their feet.
Really unique converted pub, beautiful creative food and wonderful service.
Very enjoyable lunch. The bonus of Bank holiday music nice surprise but in such a small place the amplification of the singer guitarist was too much and made talking to our friends difficult.
Amazing food and brilliant service. This is the first time we have been to the Curious Eatery for dinner and it did not disappoint. We will be back.
