The Daily Catch - Woodstock
We started serving pasta in the pan out of necessity. We had no plates! It’s become who we are, more than food & drink we are an experience. The pan captures the lasting memory of how delicious the pasta tasted.

We arrived after a 100 mile drive having made an earlier reservation. Unfortunately there was a family emergency with a staff member and they had to close early. However, the chef Darren stated he would prepare us a meal and wait on us. He went above and beyond the call of duty, and the meals were Delicious. I would return tomorrow! Kudos to this staff.
Wonderful! Every time we dine her gets better. Incredible food, great conversation, meet new people every time. The Daily Catch is our upscale “Cheers” in Vermont.
The owner of the restaurant seemed to not care about anyone at all. She treated her staff in demeaning way, and complained about them to the customers. She came in late, so the waiter said to her how customers were waiting while he was struggling to serve all the tables alone, and she said something like “they are here on vacation, they can wait”…
The food was ok, but we don’t think we will return.
Food excellent, waiter was not to nice, a little apathetic but maybe just tired. I still would recommend.
Overpriced for what it is. Food tasted ok, but was nothing special. Many items on limited menu were not available. For instance, one of the three listed sides was not available and three of the non-alcoholic beverages we asked for were not available. We were also told that non-caffeinated coffee was unavailable as the machine was off. Server was less than friendly and made us feel as if we were imposing on him. The couple next to us told us that when they arrived and asked for an outside table as per their reservation, he told them non was available and that they could sit inside or leave. He eventually sat them outside when they pointed out an available table. There was a woman who worked at the restaurant who seemed pleasant enough and acommodating but she was not our server.
Everything was very nice but I’m guessing the waiter needs to take some time off to recharge.
Delicious food, friendly welcome
Not sure what was in the caprese salad but my husband got sick. Salmon so-so. Shrimp not seasoned spinach greasy.
The waiter was slow to come over to our table. We ordered salad and he never brought it. When he came with the main dishes and we said we didn’t get our salad he said “oh we probably gave it to someone else“I asked if he had cappuccino he responded yes. I ordered a cup. He came back five minutes later and said I’m sorry no cappuccino. The machine was not turned on. No apology no would you like to wait a little bit longer?. The owner came at the end of the night and was very pleasant however our waiter ruined our experience.
The Daily Catch in Woodstock was something I was looking forward to trying given their location in Boston which I've enjoyed several times in the past. The menu was extensive for a small restaurant without close proximity to fresh seafood. The wine and beverage list was also fine and well matched for the cuisine.
The service was in need of attention. Our waiter was very friendly but we felt rushed the entire time there and the restaurant was not full. We sat down and was provided the menu and drink list. In less than one minute he was back asking if we were ready to order drinks. We asked for few more minutes and got barely that. That continued throughout the entire meal right up to the check and payment. There was no check back or offer to refill the water. I don't want to take away from the food but the service is important.
The food was overall good to very good. We ordered the Caesar salad which the menu said "Ask for anchovies" and it came with them. No big deal but a waste for us. The bread was excellent. I had the Pasta Vongole which was also very good. My wife had the baked haddock which was good but did not stand out in any way. We had a couple of side vegetables and they we perfectly cooked and delicious.
I'm not sure I would rush back to The Daily Catch but may give it another try in the future.
Excellent fish and interesting menu. There was no doubt the fish was fresh.Lovely casual atmosphere and qui et enough to hear your table mates talk!
Excellent food and fairly priced. Server was overwhelmed
But they seemed over staffed. Highly recommend!
Immediate welcome and seated.quick service
So disappointed after being recommended by friends to this restaurant. My companion and I ordered the linguine with clams and calamari, her’s with white sauce, mine with red sauce. We both agreed the sauces were tasteless and needed lots of cheese to give them some flavor.
Food is very good and fresh. Unfortunately the service makes you wonder if it was worth the drive 🤷
This location is amazingly similar to the Boston area locations (and so is the pricing). In fact the food and overall experience are very similar. We had a great meal with excellent service and would recommend this restaurant if you're in the mood for this type of food in a very casual atmosphere.
Love, love, love The Daily Catch! Loved meeting Mrs. Daily Catch too!
Hostess chose to socialize with guests instead of greeting or seating us in a reasonable time. Waiter was not friendly. Tried to rush us through ordering. Slow to refill empty drinks. Food was ok but not great. Overall meh
Excellent, authentic food. Attentive and knowledgeable service. A really fun experience and evening out!
Food was great although my wife's dish was totally cold. Before she could send it back the waiter walked away. Waiter rushed our entire meal. Atmosphere was OK but deli-like and they played pop music through the ceiling speakers which was very strange as they market the restaurant as authentic Sicilian seafood, so why not play authentic Italian dinner music? We expected a top-shelf foodie experience but walked away feeling we were hosed.
The ambiance is charming, romantic, and neighborly all at once. The food was delicious, too (I had the black pasta with calamari and was blown away). The Daily Catch - Woodstock is a gem.
Food was great, easy if you need GF. Good wine selection. Owner super nice and welcoming.
Fresh fish, variety or menu options, terrific host, and friendly, dedicated, hardworking staff. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.
When everyone in the hospitality industry is short handed, Daily Catch still offered fantastic, attentive service and the food predictably amazing. We are so lucky to have this family restaurant in Woodstock.
We had a very nice meal . Service was very good. Entre came a little quickly. We weren’t quite finished with appetizers. I would recommend strongly. We’ll worth 8t.
Scallops delicious. Owner was delightful. Look forward to returning soon.
Outstanding food quality and service
Great meal, super fast service from a efficiency driven kitchen. We moved through our meal so quickly that we hardly waited a moment, but I kinda like that. My partner enjoyed the Baked Salmon, I had it North End style. Both were rich in flavor and delicately spiced.
Fantastic, Fresh and Perfectly Cooked Seafood. For a Friday night and a very Busy Restaurant everything was perfect. Considering the Government’s intervention in the Labor market by continuing unnecessary unemployment benefits... the limited team at The Daily Catch gets it done.
Food is not great. Brought my husband the wrong food and never apologized. The waiter was more concerned that he told the chef the right thing and had no concern for us.
Maybe it was because it was July 4th weekend & was very busy but the service was really bad. We were sat down around our reservation time and they took our order about 30 mins later BUT then we had to wait another 1-1.5 hours for our food, meanwhile a huge party that came in after us were getting their food (we had only ordered 3 entrees). They got one of our orders wrong but we were so hungry that we ate our food in less than 1/4 of the time we waited for it. The waiters/owners were relatively nice but gave us bad service. Food was decent but not worth the price and wait.
Arrogance of the waiter ruined the evening. Food was disappointing. There are better places with better food and better service. Would pass on this place next time.
As always a great dining experience. We pretty much get the same thing each time and look forward to it each snd every time. The desserts are incredible.
We had an 8:30 reservation. I was bringing 2 couples from out of state to this restaurant. We were seated, given water and then told that there was no food and we needed to leave. Unimaginable that a restaurant would treat people like this and the chef was clearly happy that we left. He followed us out of the restaurant. One of the most bizarre incidents I have ever experienced. We were here to be together to remember our best friend who had died from COVID and this is how we were treated. Anyway went to Woodstock Inn and the food was fantastic and the staff was wonderful. Despicable!!
We had an amazing meal last night in celebration of our anniversary. What a gem! The food was incredible, I had the scallops and black pasta and my husband had the fra Diablo. The scallops were perfectly cooked. Everything was so tasty. We’ll be thrilled to return and look forward to introducing others to this great restaurant!
Fantastic food, white olive oil/clam sauce with scallops was great. Woman owner was very entertaining. She was a little overwhelmed due to staff shortages like many restaurants. We enjoyed the evening and were not in a hurry like some patrons. Would recommend to anyone wanting a small initmate seafood place in Woodstock.
Our experience was wonderful! Felt like home, terrific staff and our meals were phenomenal, Halibut and Salmon. We were
So pleased with this choice for dinner!
Delicious food. Fun and gracious owners. It feels like home.
The experience at The Daily Catch was good. There was nothing awful and nothing outstanding. Covid protocols were in place and we felt comfortable. They were able to accommodate my gluten sensitivity which was a plus. The fish was fresh, the price was reasonable.
