The Dining Room at Eganridge Resort
Excellent experience overall, I highly recommend the stay and food!
My steak was cold and over cooked
My rice dish was warm not hot
My husband could not eat the rice dish due to some spice added
My steak and my husbands steak had no flavour and was about the thickness of a frozen burger
Very disappointing dinner - the food was sparse, and poorly flavoured, and the poor waitress was overwhelmed as she was the only server in the dining room.
We were there for an occasion and drove over an hour to get there, but we won't be back anytime soon, given our experience.
Sorry, it used to be a must-visit spot for us, but no longer.
Nice atmosphere, good food. Servers were friendly.
The Dinner was excellent and loved the fall inspired dishes.....Cannot wait to come back..
Wonderful food and service! Thanks for a great stay. We will be back.
I guess along the windows, or outside of weather permits. There is a lovely view across the lawns and trees to Sturgeon Lake. In winter there is a cosy fireplace, which is great when snowy outside. BUt really anywhere in the dining room is very pleasant
On the second night though there were flies that kept coming around to our table which was annoying. Other than that breakfast and dinner were very good.
Beautiful setting. Lovely waitress. Yummy food. Accommodating with celiac customer.
My wife and I enjoyed two nights and mornings in the dining room at Eganridge, as part of a golf/dinner/breakfast package. Both breakfasts were excellent. I had French toast one morning, some of the best I've ever had, my wife enjoyed a yummy omelette, loaded with ingredients. My only complaint might have been when I ordered eggs over-easy the second morning, they came sunny side up (and barely cooked, at that). I know I should have sent them back, but it wasn't that big a deal to me. Our dinners were very good, although my salmon was slightly overcooked the first night. (The server explained that the chef was new, so I'm chalking it up to that.) I know that cooking fish perfectly can be a tricky thing. Very nice flavour, though. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the seafood linguine the first night. I loved the short ribs dinner the second night, while my wife had the stuffed chicken, which she said was very good. The deserts were excellent, service was fine keeping Covid in mind (one server, basically, besides the hostess).
Restaurant was not busy, no silverware, had to beg for water, only offered drinks once, waited 1 hour for salads, then for a table of 8, 3 meals were served, then 20 minutes passed, then 2 more meals were served. Then finally the 3 last meals were served. The waitress was inattentive, the manager was unable to do anything but give us free desserts, we should not have paid for the meal. Horrible dining experience, can’t believe they host weddings, they can’t even do a simple dinner. Food was fine when it was finally served. The manager blamed the the kitchen, but we could have had better service, maybe some appetizers, refills on drinks, but we never saw the waitress until the salads were finally served. Worse dining experience. Stay away.
Service was excellent; as was the food. They knew it was our anniversary and provided our dessert for free which was over and above great! Very nice spot to eat. We had the choice of inside or on their covered and screened in patio. Unfortunately, there were quite a few flies there yesterday which was a little distracting. This would not deter me from going again as I expect the flies would not be a normal thing. Only other downside was that we made an early reservation (5pm) as we had been using the spa downstairs. Sounds like the dining room was not in sync with OpenTable as I was able to create my reservation for 5pm but they don't start serving until 5:30pm. The view was nice however overlooking Sturgeon Lake and it was a beautiful day so the wait went by quickly.
server 1st day, was never asked whether we prefer milk or cream for coffee, just assume it is cream..busy with one server ...at that time...
paying for the view pretty much...food pretty much like other all day bfast place, will still come back just for the view....
Great atmosphere sitting on the upper patio overlooking the lake. They have a couple of issues to iron out needing more staff but that is understandable.
Hi there, we enjoyed our experience at Eaganridge overall last weekend. The staff is very helpful and personable. The breakfasts were okay, but the dinners were very average. The salmon was frozen which was very obvious, and the pasta dish was forgettable and had little flavour. I think perhaps the quality could definitely be improved and be more imaginative. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be truthful and I hope it can help with kitchen discussions.
We went for an anniversary recently, and had a delicious meal, with lovely ambience. We were on the balcony overlooking the lake, and shoreline. A good meal, with a lovely view, on a pleasant evening, what more could you ask?
We live in the area, and go there for special occasions, and have never been disappointed.
The food is excellent, and well presented.
The service is quiet, unobtrusive, no rushing you along. Recommendations are forthcoming if asked for.
We have been of Christmas dinners, and the ambience is delightfully seasonal, and very welcoming. Winter or summer we highly recommend Eganridge.
Great service, great food and amazing views , recommend very highly.
Dining room was closed due to Covid restrictions, so they had take out service... food was good but served in plastic takeout containers with the cheapest possible utensils ... felt ripped off on portion size and it wasn’t hot .... I won’t be returning
My fillet of salmon was about 3oz and seemed old. No flavour in the dinner at all. Should have known, not to go at the end of the season.
First and last visit
For the price dining at Eganridgr is not worth it. It was only because it was a Sunday night that we had very few options in the area. Food was OK, nothing to go wow about, and service was slow. The resort itself is very nice and I'd go back there, but I'd choose to eat elsewhere in the area
