Enjoyed a very nice dinner with my partner at The Dining Room. Service was attentive, friendly and in a good mood without being too familiar. Excellent wine and very nice dishes. If you have room go for the sticky toffee pudding!
Lovely environment, attentive staff and high quality food but it does come at a (high) price.
excellent in always service, food atmosphere, waiters inventive and very helpful full knowledge of drinks and food menu, also they did not hover to become a nuisance
Excellent all around!
Food and service could not have been better.
Will definitely go again!
Fantastic food. I'm a coeliac and they were super helpful with sorting food options. Highly recommended.
Very good food in a space that feels like it needs a renovation.
Fantastic place with lots of character and atmosphere. Great food, top staff.
The food was nice and the service was very good. It was a nice gesture for the restaurant to give us something to celebrate our anniversary. Management needs to consider if they'd have at least a partition between the dining room and the kitchen entrance. When they got busy there were lots of noise and movements in and out of the kitchen which is close to the dining area. We'd imagine the atmosphere would be better if the kitchen is being 'hidden' away from the dining room.
All clients put in one area , poor ambience and noisy .
Not anywhere near value for money with a very restricted menu.q
We always enjoy our meal at Oakley Court. The meal tonight was exceptional as was the service.
The decor in this restaurant is very understated, but that should not put you off visiting. Tha service was very good, the waiters very helpful and knowledgeable with regards to both the food menu and the wine. Some interesting ingerdigents used with a lot sourced from their own gardens. The portion sizes allow for a full three courses to be tried. The green and white asparagus served cold, which was not what I was expecting but was very nice and well presented, the asparagus was arranged so as appearing to be growing through the earth (mushroom dirt!). Both main courses where delisious. I had the fish which was perfectly cook, garnished with scurvy grass, which I have never heard off and it has an acquired taste. The lamb which my husband chose was again perfectly cooked and very tender. The cheese board had a fairly small portions of cheese, the honey which comes from Oakley Court's own hives was amazing. Would recommend giving this restaurant a try, maybe for special occasion as it is on the expensive side.
Food, service, ambience all spot on. Only small gripe was the menu on the website was different to the one on the day. My guest was particularly looking forward to a particular dish that was not on the menu
We had a family dinner in the Dining Room for Father's Day. The staff at the restaurant were amazing. We arrived early and they were able to accommodate our request to be seated earlier. The staff continued to very attentive throughout our meal. Food was absolutely delicious! Full of flavour and beautifully presented. Restaurant is located on the grounds of the Oakley Court hotel which has beautiful grounds. Would highly recommend for a relaxing evening of fine dining!
We were eating quite early (because we wanted to enjoy the evening strolling by the river og lounging in the library, too)
At first, the music was too loud and a bit disturbing, but when more people came, the level was quite ok. Generally I don´t like background music when eating. Asking dinner guests about music might be a good idea.
Amazing food and wonderful service. A beautiful venue for parties and special occasions.
A most pleasant evening. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was very well presented and served swiftly, apart from a slightly over long wait in ordering the sweet.
This was a totally memorable meal for all the right reasons:
The maitre d' was excellent in aiding us in our choices.
The background music was subtle but entertaining and a low level talking point
The food was divine - the hotel stay was a 60th birthday celebration for one of our party and he was blown away by the meal and the subsequent breakfast the next day.
Fantastic evening good food good wine and excellent service the hotel grounds make for a lovely walk after visiting the restaurant
I frequently recommend the Oakley Court. We came about a month ago, stayed and had an evening meal and breakfast. They even managed to accommodate some last minute friends. Maybe the meal on Saturday was just not to my taste.
Enjoyable dining experience we had a great Sunday lunch and the grounds were beautiful by the river
Definitely worth going.
Will have to go again
Thank you for your recommendation and recent review of The Dining Room at The Oakley Court, we are very grateful for your feedback. We hope we can welcome you back in the not so distant future!
Really nice environment. The place and the building are amazing. Food and service is OK but could be better.
Highly recommended. The food was very good and the staff very helpful regarding the menu.
Very disappointed with food quality and portion size. Considering price the venison came as two very small pieces of meat ( about 40 mm round and 15 mm thick ) Starter was one very thin small piece of foi gras. No way worth the prices charged.
Staff friendly and helpful but won’t be going back. Give this a miss. Poor poor value.
Excellent food in an historical atmosphere makes it special. The service is also outstanding.
Excellent chef. Showed creativity and imagination. The design of the dining room is long with defined segments.
The ambiance therefore was not brilliant but if you want semi private then it would work for you.
Food wasn’t that great ...very odd menu and very overpriced ..
Birthday was good.
The Food and service were excellent. There was very little choice on the menu which was the problem.
Overpriced for the quality of the food
My carrot cake was the strangest dessert I have ever seen and did not have much of a taste
No character in decor
Very Good service
A great restaurant in one of the most beautiful locations imaginable. All of my food was good and the main course and dessert were excellent. My partner wasn't so keen on hers but it was okay. The service was first class.
You can walk outside on to the lawns that go down to the river and it is literally magical on a summer's night.
Lovely food and great place to stay. We moored our boat and stayed overnight for dinner and breakfast. Loved the building and history. Large rooms and comfortable beds. Will book again.
Although my mother and I enjoyed our meal, we did feel that it was a limited menu for both main course and desert. I have to say that the service was impeccable and we were made to feel very welcome.
Honeymoon trip. The staff and food were perfect. The setting at the Oakley could be very romantic.
It was not quite up to par
Very nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, special kids menue, food was good but not outstanding
get together with 8 of us as pretty short notice. They accommodated us admirably and we had a quiet table for pre dinner drinks and then a super table for the meal. Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was a creative and tasteful menu. Great experience and will do again.
Staff was extremely nice and helpful. We had a great time can't wait to return. Really nice place, the dining room is cosy, perfect for a date, anniversary or family celebrations.
