The Distillery Birmingham
Really good Sunday roast dinners -- nothing too fancy, but very tasty. Very friendly service, too.
The Distillery was hard to found and eventually found it.
Really lovely place and the Sunday dinner was superb.
Only 1 potatoes was black and they replace it.
Bit pricey for a Sunday dinner but worth it.
Lots people sitting outside watching Football on TV great atmosphere.
I really enjoyed my mocktail with rhubarb, which was recommended by the waiter. We shared the breaded melted cheese bites for starter. The food is all freshly cooked and served in a relaxed manner, for informal dining. The chairs were comfy and there is a nice atmosphere.
We were recommended to The Distillery by a starnger in a Birmingham pub on our last visit to the city and booked this for a return visit. I wish I could thank that stranger, because we were very impressed. The food and service was excellent, particularly the lamb shwarma which was really unusual. The only fly in the ointment was that the booking made and confirmed by Open Table had not made it to the restaurant booking system. It was a nervous few minutes whilst they found a space to squeeze us in as it was a busy Saturday night. Well worth a visit.
Perfectly placed for a pre-Arena concert meal/drink. Glad we booked as they were turning people away.
Excellent Gin cocktails and delicious food. Satisfied customers!
Very nice ambiance food was tasty hot and freshly made Service was good and good in explaining the menu We vistited the concert next door at the Arean therefore handy short walk to the main doors Will visit again next time in Birmingham Thanks
I’ve eaten here before the foods good and it’s a good place to go for a pre gig drink. We got there for a table at 7, gig started at 8. However they were really short staffed and we had to wait 20 mins to get served and food was 45 mins wait so overall not a great experience and we were rushed, but I’d go again - but perhaps a bit earlier next time.
Service was superb, food was tasty, but such small portions, the croquettes starter was delicious but micro sized.
We dined here as we were attending an event at the Birmingham Arena and the reviews seemed good. It struck me as more of a pub than a restaurant with a slightly better than average feel. Service was fine but not sure what it would have been like when busy. The food was distinctly average. The fries were nice, but my burger were very dry and crumbly and had very little flavour. The price was perfectly acceptable based on the standard displayed. On the upside the toilets were clean. Overall it was ok but we wouldn’t go back.
Probably the first "Original" dining experience I've had in the past 10 years! Menu is creative and different without being "Trendy". Staff were very attentive and looked like they wanted to be there. Even when drinks weren't available it wasn't an issue to us as we were really enjoying the vibe. Music is played at a decent volume, which totally adds to the experience. Open kitchen shows confidence and desire to be approachable.
Great drinks space upstairs; Massive bar downstairs; lovely dining area; and then there's the huge outside space by the canal.
If you're going to The Arena ... then this is an absolute must beforehand ... 3 minute walk
Gorgeous food. Lovely staff. Great setting. My idea of heaven
We ate here before heading to the nearby Birmingham Arena. The Distillery is a great place to drink and eat. The selection of drinks is excellent and the quality of the cocktails is superb. Food is very good and great value. There were 4 of us and everyone thought the food was excellent. Service was very good too. Overall a great experience. Looking forwards to coming back.
Was really nice. The place is really cool and trendy. The Service was attentive, but not overpowering. The ambience was casual but chic. The Food was different, well presented and a very pleasant surprise. We really enjoyed the experience, thanks to the Team
We were passing through Birmingham and found this great venue on the canal side, lovely food, great ambience and fantastic service. Will definitely be back again.
We had an excellent meal and were actually pleasantly surprised as it was better than anticipated. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Would definitely recommend and would go back when in Birmingham again.
Fantastic service and food. I now drink gin.
Great find. Manager was great! Really personal, friendly service. Other staff good to. Food great. Will definitely go back, and have already recommended.
Great bottomless champagne brunch with excellent service!
Very nice venue and really tasty food!
Really nice place to take a date. good atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, and the food was excellent. It's in a great location next to the canal, so well worth stopping in if you're passing by.
Great location on the canal, food was very good and the chef even made plain versions for my partner who doesn't really do Spicey food. The pitchers of gin cocktails are really good to share.
