We had a warm welcome. The staff are very attentive and service was prompt. The quality of the food is excellent, and the selection of teas impressive . Noise levels were low enough to enjoy civilised conversation.
Birthday celebration with Mum
Food was nice but not exceptional. Very expensive, £160 for two. Not good value for money. £7 for a bottle of water. Wouldn’t recommend.
Tea at Browns must be the archetypal English experience.
Very many choices of tea blend, sandwiches with the crust cut off. Scones with clotted cream and fresh strawberry jam every day.
Far to expensive for what you get!!!! I will not recommend spending such amount of money for leaving two hoirs in the pass . Need to make something more actual
Lovely tea room, and a wonderful meal.
One of the best spots in London for traditional afternoon tea -- the scones and clotted cream are superb, the service is pleasant and the atmosphere peaceful.
Loved The English Tea Room.....a true London experience!
My wife and I are from USA, and we were visiting London for our baby moon. One of the activities we knew we wanted to do was afternoon tea. After a lot of research, we decided on the English Tea Room, and we were so glad with our choice! We had a spectacular time. We loved all the sandwiches. My favorite was the prawn mini bagel, and my wife loved the prosciutto mini bagel. There was a good amount of variety in the savory items.
The tea was exquisite. My wife and I drink tea regularly, and we were incredibly impressed with the tea selection and the tea quality. I opted for one of the English teas first and then an oolong tea. My wife chose two herbal teas. They paired very well with all the food.
The scones and desserts were absolutely delicious, too. I'd say the scones were some of the best I'd ever had. Were they mind-blowing? No, but they were delicate and fluffy. The raspberry tart was my favorite dessert with the yuzu cake coming in second. Again, there was a good amount of variety of tastes. It was fantastic that we could get an unlimited amount of refills. Of course this was all within the time limit.
If my wife and I visit London again, we'd absolutely go to the English Tea Room for high tea again!
First time in London. Wanted a true English Tea Room experience. Your establishment did not disappoint.
Jonka and her associate looked after us beautifully from start to finish - my husband and I were meeting up with friends we hadn’t seen for thirty years and it was a perfect venue! The tea was lovely and we were not rushed at all . We would not hesitate to recommend the traditional tea experience to anyone and we are trying to think of an occasion when we can repeat it!
Food was absolutely delicious and they accommodated for our various dietary needs. Everything was unlimited, but we could only eat so much! The service was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly. The live piano player was wonderful. He could play anything-from classics to contemporary. The decor was beautiful. It was exactly what I was looking for, and even my husband, who does not see much value in an afternoon tea, was raving!
Sumptuous and special, although pricey. But you know what you are getting into when you book it. Worth it once every few years.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea at iconic Brown’s hotel. Lorenzo was just a fantastic server, so attentive, responsive, and welcoming. Highly recommend it.
It was beautiful- the service was great and the food was excellent.
Yonka was the best server ever! So knowledgeable and friendly. Love the strawberry jam
Food and service for afternoon tea were very good but experience seemed a little inauthentic - seemed like mostly American tourists and expats, piano player playing broadway show tunes , etc. struck me as a little cheesy.
Overall, it is overpriced. I visited with four friends and ordered afternoon tea for each. They only served 3-4 portions and did not offer additional until we explicitly asked for. Plus, tea was not served longer almost 10 mins. A waiter did not explain some of the pastries. Only the timing was quite accurate. They asked as to leave exactly in 2 hours after the reservation time. Although my friends could not taste their serves because of their delayed service, they did not offer wrappings. I strongly recommend other nearby options such as Ritz or F and M.
Absolutely lovely tea!
Wonderful experience. We appreciated how kind they were to our 9 and 11 year old children.
Incredible experience and my waitress was above and beyond exceptional! She exceeded all of our expectations 10/10 recommend. I would suggest coming hungry :)
Visited for girlfriends birthday. The service was very professional and attentive without feeling overbearing and the ambience was the best I’ve encountered across London’s 5-star restaurants: smart and elegant but without pretentiousness. A live pianist, who played a happy birthday for my girlfriend, completed the experience. We really enjoyed the complimentary drink, too.
We had a friendly exchange with the doorman as well upon exiting, who was very accommodating in taking our photograph.
Overall it was one of our favourite dining experiences in London and we would highly recommend it to others.
Having tea at Brown’s is lovely and something my husband and I enjoy sharing every time we are in London. I do think the quality of the sandwiches is not what it used to be.
A wonderful experience. Food and service were excellent. My nieces and nephew especially enjoyed the turkey/cranberry sandwiches and red velvet cupcakes. The only sandwich which did not get rave reviews was the egg salad (way too much mayonnaise). Some of the desserts were too sweet. We would definitely go back on our next visit to London.
Afternoon tea was lovely. All delicious. Service was amazing. It was quite empty but the room is very cozy.
Traditional fternoon tea with both brioche and classic sandwiches. Selection of fruit or plain scones with fruit puree and clotted cream. Cakes were delicate and beautifully presented. Great ambience with live pianist and attentive service from our waiter. An expensive experience, £55 for tea and £65 for a glass of champagne with it. Service charge at 15%.
Great service and overall good food, especially the tomato sandwiches! The pastries were a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but still executed well. Overall a great place for afternoon tea in London!
Ambience was somewhat spoiled by the tea-room being a thoroughfare to another part of the hotel.
Everything was just ok.
Elegant quintessentially English afternoon tea. Recommend for the experience with foreign visitors.
A lovely traditional tea in a traditional wood panelled room. Each course was of a consistently high standard and service was reasonably attentive and warm. Would recommend.
The service is great and I strongly recommend the egg finger sandwich. We had the traditional afternoon tea sets with a complImentary glass of champagne for everyone. They also offered a large variety of tea options.
