The Drovers Arms Restaurant & Country Pub
GreAt Sunday lunch. Large portions and excellent value.
£30 steak night (Wednesday). Tasty steak with a bottle of house wine. Splendid
Nice food although the beef was a bit grisly, the park seemed much better, my only complaint was that a table for 2 was very small and the chai’s were small and uncomfortable
We frequented the Drovers arms recently with our 3 year old grand daughter as we we'r staying just a mile up the road in our motor home. My partner and i both had the pork loin chop with all the trimmings whilst our 3 year old decided on fish and chips. The food was outstanding and our grand daughter tucked into her meal which she really enjoyed. We would highly recommend the Drovers arms and will be visiting again in the future. Thanks for an lovely meal in a lovely pub.

Very busy Sunday lunch service staff seemed to be under pressure all of the time. The food was served then we had a long wait for the veg dishes therefore meat was cold. Roast potatoes were under cooked. The caramel sundae had gone off the menu so they offered me a strawberry sundae. Turned up as 2 scoops of icecream, afew chopped strawberries and juice with a biscuit. The other puddings were cold and dry . The overall visit was disappointing. On the positive the pub is lovely. I wonder if the evening would be better but not going to bother. Sad as wanted to visit for some time. Was prepared to pay premium price for sunday dinner for the family but everyone in the party was underwhelmed by the experience.
A lovely Sunday roast. Table was booked at 3 so the lunch time rush was dying down despite this the service was very slow - we had to ask for menus, ask to order, chase a drinks order, ask to order desserts even though there were plenty of waiting staff around. The food was excellent as usual and the set menu is fantastic value for money.
Lovely food, wide selection of beers and spirits. Loved the goats cheese pate.
As usual pleasant and good service from staff. Also food ready in super quick time and delicious. Sticky toffee pudding back on menu fabulous
Excellent Food and Service especially the young female server she was very good and patient with my elderly father who has dementia
We will be back soon
I have been to the Drover's arms previously and really enjoyed the food. However, my most recent visit was a little disappointing. The starter and dessert were very good but my beef Sunday Dinner was poor. The meat needed to be sent back as it was chewy to the point my jaw hurt and the red cabbage had an awful burnt smell and taste.
I must say the service was second to none and as soon as I mentioned I was not happy with the meat, a new plated dinner and side of veg was brought to me in a few minutes.
We had a very tasty well presented meal, starters through to puddings really good and reasonably priced. There was a good range of drinks and nice wines. The espresso martinis were to die for. We will definitely be visiting again and probably again.
We took some friends for breakfast on a weekend and it was superb. Best cooked breakfast we have had. Thoroughly recommended! It's best to book so they know you are coming.
The food was beautiful, very nicely presented and well priced. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back.
The Drovers is a lovely place if you're going for a drink or a sit down meal. The staff are always on the ball and we were shown to our table quickly.
Food was outstanding but the service was very slow and not friendly, which is a shame.
Food lovely as usual, sticky toffee pudding to die for
Positives: Our table was ready, service was prompt, atmosphere was good
Negatives: Too many flies and wasps with no attempt to control pests, vegetarian options on menu very poor, food presentation could be improved
An excellent meal for each of us, with very polite serving staff throughout, even though it was a very busy Saturday night. The menu had great choices and the food was of a superb standard. The only thing I could complain about was the noise level of the background music, which was way too loud. The staff did respond quickly though to our request to turn it down a little, so it was fine in the end. We will definitely book again when we next visit Skipwith.
The Drovers was excellent as always.
First call food ... Unfortunately the game pie special had all gone.
Nice reasonably priced bottle of red with dinner went down a treat.
We didn't book until the evening before so were quite surprised to get in at the time we wanted.
Good service. Good ambiance. Recommended.
Really friendly staff and lovely food......amazing portions...my father had the tomahawk pork, my sister and I had the seafood linguine and my husband had the burger.....we all commented on the quality of the food!
A great selection of gins too....shame this isn’t our local! We will definitely be returning the next time we’re in Yorkshire!
I enjoyed a perfect lunch here with friends prior to walking around Skipwith Common. The food was exceptional and we all plan to return with our families.
Fab food, friendly service haven’t been here for a while but will return soon
Apart from soggy chips, everything was excellent including the attentive service.
Outstanding out of the way place. Driving from Oxford to York with 10 family members ranging in age from 10-70 and made reservations on the fly. Great menu options and excellent preparation of fresh local foods. One of the best meals we had in England! Desserts were over the top and made the night end well.
Our family really enjoyed ourselves. The food was brilliant and the service was good. The pub was very comfortable and the children enjoyed playing in the garden. We would definitely recommend the Drovers Arms and hope to visit again.😁
A very pleasant country pub with good parking. An extensive and middle priced menu. Helpful staff. Tasty food and good service. We will definitely go back again soon.
Second visit. Feed was just as good as the first time. Great tasting food and good portions. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Will be visiting again soon.
A very nice cosy country pub restaurant, the food was very good, the staff helpful & the ambience in keeping with its character. The only minor complaint, after we had order & eaten starters the service, for whatever reason, faded. Asking to see the dessert menu became a challenge, so much so that we nearly decided to skip a dessert.
Grest location. Lovely food and plenty of it. Warm welcoming staff. Good choice of ales and Gin.
It's a nice location with plenty of parking although it was very busy. Staff were very friendly and helpful with just enough attention so as to not be overbearing. The food was excellent and very good value
Drinks took a long time to come and I had to chase up on both occasions. 2 out of 4 were wrong. There was a very noisy family which detracted from the ambience of the nice setting (can't be helped I know) The Yorkshire puddings were not good (ystrad frozen to me) and the crackling on the roast pork dinner was that cop out cracking almost like puffed pork scratchings.
The vegetables were perfect. The food service was reasonably quick despite Ben busy. Price was okay and the portions were fine. The quality was good.
Had Sunday lunch for 5 adults and a 2 year old..everything was perfect..starting with the excellent service and mouth watering menu..enjoyed by all..
We travel over 30 miles to the Drovers. Food is superb and there's a good selection of drinks behind the bar. It was lovely to sit and eat our meal in the garden last weekend. One of us ordered the Kiev and it's no ordinary one. Food is fresh and cooked to perfection and portion sizes are good. Would have like to try a dessert but we didn't manage to get that far. The staff are wonderful too. Nothing too much trouble. Looking forward to return.
Another lovely lunch at The Drovers Arms. We were made to feel very welcome by Adam and the team.
Our main courses were lovely - and the puddings were just delicious!
See you again soon! :)
Meal was very rushed and starter was missed off the order. Staff weren’t very apologetic. One meal came without some of its sides and I had to ask for them. Only stuffing was brought out and no crackling. Staff have no explanation and just said they’d tell the chef but we got no feedback. Even thought the food was ok it was very over priced. I think we were in the pub for only 40minutes due to the meals being rushed and kitchen closing.
This is a pub we use regularly for meals with friends and family or even pop in when we are feeling lazy and don't want to cook.
The food generally speaking is pretty good pub grub. One or two of the selections being excellent. If available the mussels are super and come with a choice of sauces and can be chosen for a starter or main.
The pies are good and the tomahawk pork chop is excellent. If you like Chips then try the twice cooked chips are super.
The ambience varies a lot. The pub is used by groups for birthdays and celebrations. These big parties can make the environment quite noisy as the restaurant is long and slim. It's not overpowering but if you are looking for a relaxed meal then Friday and Saturday nights probably not for you. Service on these nights can also suffer a little but the staff do a good job of prioritising the smaller tables to try and make sure you don't get kept waiting.
Weekdays are quieter and provide a nice setting for a meal for two.
Car parking is limited and when busy you may struggle. So prepare to be inventive on busy evenings.
Overall I would recommend the drovers to people its offers if anything because it is good so pick your days that match your expectations and you sjould have a great experience.
excellent, great pub food, nothing was too much trouble. Very attentive, service very good despite them being extremely busy, friendly lovely staff.
This Pub was just the perfect place to celebrate a 70th Birthday. Thank you to everyone.
Great little pub with exceptional good food and a good selection of real ales. Welcoming staff and friendly landlord. Book early as it gets quite busy even during the week.
Nice meal apart from my suet pie which was too heavy and would have preferred chips instead of wedges as stated on menu
