They have just changed their winter menu and there was so must choice. The cured trout was sublime and the slow cooked beef shoulder was tender and tasty. I would strongly recommend and will be returning again.

This is a favourite place as the food is superb so booked Xmas menu to show friends how much we like it. Overall food very good but so disappointed in the length of time we waited for it. Ordered at 12.10 and didn’t get starter until nearly 1 Main course chased at 1.30 as lots of other tables being served before us. Arrived 1.45 and very good. Had to ask for plates to be cleared and ask again to order sweet. Just a let down on The service

Mussels in a watery and bland sauce. Anancini really not arancini and tasted strange. Definitely no rice texture or Italian style palate. Sent back. Crème caramel had no caramel, just a brown watery surround and it tasted of nothing. All very disappointing as we have enjoyed Sunday roast at the Snipe. Waiter attentive and great.

We really enjoyed our roast and appreciated being offered more veggies. It was our first visit. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the decor is smart. We felt a bit cool at times and this might be less of an issue at the back of the dining areas.

Overall we had a nice meal here. The servers are a little inexperienced but all very pleasant, willing and helpful. It's a nice premise with a good atmosphere. It was a little bit chilly on the evening we were there. I had the roast celariac, cep Etc starter. This needs some work. Other than the cep it was very bland. The sauce base it was on was completely tasteless. The rest of our meal including the hake special and moules frites was very good.

I think they may of had a staffing issue in the kitchen as the steaks had to be returned and still didn’t come out great, although the food on the night was poor the service was superb.

Very disappointed with the roast this time, food wasn’t that hot and the leg section of the half a chicken was pink and undercooked! Eaten in here before with family and last time was very nice. Young man who served us was polite, prompt and attentive.

Seated quickly and offered drinks immediately. Good menu selection and food delivered in an sensible timescale - and was delicious. Waitress delightful, and chatty, without being intrusive. Overall atmosphere warm and comfortable. Altogether a very enjoyable experience. Wine prices going up at a rate of knots - not just here, but everywhere.

Had the set lunch and it was fabulous. The squid was crisps, the pork cheek pappardelle was delicious and the chocolate delice perfect. The staff were efficient and helpful with any suggestions. I will be returning very soon.
