Husband’s birthday lunch! Really awesome food. Thanks you
Lovely place, excellent food and service. Very covid safe, and created a really amazing outside space. Love the creative menu and knowledgeable staff. I’ve missed this place!
First visit, but definitely not our last. The service was impeccable from staff who have clearly been very well trained. They were polite & attentive without being intrusive. Food was excellent, especially the curried goat croquettes, chicken terrine & potted shrimps. The covered seating was very good and heaters, rugs, blankets were provided to make the best of the current restrictions. Would highly recommend.
First visit to the pub since it opened. I couldn't fault it, hospitality was great, food was excellent and pricing was very well positioned.
There were only 4 of us including 2 children, we were given a horsebox, which I wanted and wasn't expecting as this could have accommodated a larger groups.
We will most certainly be back soon.
Great food and service, relaxing meal, it is our favourite place locally
Absolutely fabulous! Staff so nice. Food excellent. A gem! We will certainly be back !
Thank you so much to all the staff at The Drumming Snipe. We had a lovely meal last night. It’s easy to see you gone to great lengths to make your guests feel comfortable with all the restrictions. So glad you’ve survived lockdown. We’ll definitely be back.
Loved the new tent with heaters, really nice atmosphere, would go back for sure and to eat this time
Great welcome on entrance. Tented area has a very nice ambiance and was surprisingly warm but not to hot. Food amazing as always, good size portions also. Service at table good but would have liked a little more relaxed tbh
Can’t wait to get back
Dinner was booked for my 60th birthday in one of shepherd huts well in advance they knew it was a special occasion and yet we were given the lesser of the 2 huts with two open sides facing the wind for a 7.45pm reservation. The other hut has 1 open side and is non wind facing. Needless to say we were cold all night as no heating is provided. The service was slow with the food arriving at different times and the waiter needed reminding we were missing items, on paying an additional bottle of found its way onto the bill £35. No feedback was requested by the management on the meal. Won't be rushing back.
Our favourite local restaurant by a million miles!
The pouting and chicken were yummy but beware the bones of the fish. One of the steaks was delish but other was too rare. The cut was also not as good as the 2nd enjoyed by son. We braved the desserts despite Grace Dent's review and I enjoyed the rhubarb crumble. The sticky toffee was also very good but the choc fudge was disappointing and a tad minscule - it was one mouthful. Service was good generally especially the male drinks waiter. Waiter showing us to the table could have been more welcoming especially after waiting more than 10mins. Otherwise nice table in tent, lovely atmosphere if only one of the other diners didn't decide to speak for everyone to hear.
Delicious food and very good service, my party of six enjoyed a very convivial lunch together sitting outside under your warm awning. I would recommend you to anyone.
I'm finding that the menu doesn't change very often.
My friend was a little shocked by the appearance of her Hebradian shepherds pie!! But tasted very good.
Fabulous dinner, delicious food, great atmosphere, heaters and blankets to keep us warm, topped off my great service
Nice resturant, different menu, good service, lunch set meal was corretly priced
Excellent menu, superbly presented. If indoors all would have been rated 5*
As always excellent food and wonderful service. Thank you
Burgers superb, Liver good, but the mussels a tad disappointing. Desserts excellent. Mussels could be improved by more sauce a la marinière. Of course I would go back. Two days time actually!!!!
A good place to meet friends but it was cold in the tent the day we went due to the strong wind. Staff very helpful
A delicious meal in the marquee beside a heater. Attentive staff. Will be back soon.
Great outdoor space covered in a black awning with good heating.
Food was excellent so too was the service.
We will be back
It was my daughter’s birthday and the staff went that extra mile to ensure we had a good evening despite the storm raging around us. The service was excellent and food delicious on the whole. The blankets provided kept us warm enough. Thank you Drumming Snipe for another very enjoyable evening under your marquee
Great Experience overall. The outdoor marquee area is great and well heated, food was great. Only disappointment is that a few of the service team didn’t really know anything about the items on the drinks/wine list when I asked.
We arrived for food on Monday to only be told it will be roasts only. We were not told about this before booking. No one fancied a roast so we only had 1 pint each and then left. Service charge was then added onto the bill after only 1 pint each. Thought this was a bit cheeky
Really lovely roast dinner, and first foray back into pubs since lockdown. Fantastic food, lovely wine, and great atmosphere given the outdoor setup. Would highly recommend.
Good food, good tent setup for Covid. Tables a tad close together but all in all a solid pub lunch.
Delicious meal , lovely environment and staff .
Quite pricey , definitely a treat not everyday
The cocktails are very good. I can't drink at the moment but I had a delicious Nojito. The Sundsy roasts are very tasty and the sticky toffee pudding was the best I have had in a while. We'll definitely book again.
Our welcome was warm and we went on to enjoy a delicious meal in an adapted horse box.
It ticked all our boxes and we would definitely return .
Delicious roast. The cauliflower cheese is awesome.
The food was nicely cooked and flavourful. We avoided the chicken because it came with ‘pigs in blankets’ - due to religious reasons. It was only written on the menu to accompany the chicken, however they came with all of the roasts. When I explained this neither the staff or the manager seemed remotely interested. I suggest that they make this clearer in future on the menu.
Lovely, charming and cosy restaurant. We had only main dishes and it was more than enough. Food could be a bit warmer, but then we had Sunday roast so understandable that it would not be piping hot. It was testy, but without ‘Wow’ factor, so a bit pricey for the offer.
Fantastic food, great service. Ensconced with blankets in a horse box!
Great food, great service and always attentive. Glad they are back open. The food is excellent value for money, and cooked to perfection. The chef is top class with the menu as it is creative too.
Always enjoy going back
As always, the staff was superb and the food fantastic! If we have to eat outside, The Snipe couldn't have provided a better venue. Wonderful afternoon.
Maybe some meals that are a bit more child/teen friendly.
Excellent food and very friendly service, a thoroughly enjoyable evening!
Lovely evening and excellent food and service as always
