A hidden gem
Must be tried
The French cuisine during weekdays and the Persian dishes on sundays are beautifully presented and absolutely deliscious
The personal services s attention from the owner makes your visits extra special
The Drunken Butler and the team inside have created a sophisticated home-like feel. A place where you can relax, feel cosy, reconnect and explore. Explore new flavours, new stories and new creations. I want to thank Yuma for such a personalised experience. We left feeling fulfilled in so many ways. The food in itself is a journey and I recommend everyone taking a ride.
The blind tasting menu was an amazing experience. All the dishes were great and we ended up adding the cheese board that I would also recommend.
Would love to go and do the Persian Sunday
Fantastic restaurant. We have been there three or four times in the last year. Both the Sunday and tasting menus are great and in particular the octopus and scallop dish is outstanding. If I had one minor bit of constructive feedback, some of the dishes could do with a bit more texture or crunch to go with all that flavour you get.
Wonderful food and ambiance. The tasting menu was fantastic value. The scallop and fish courses were particularly good. The chef is cooking very close to the tables and you can see the passion and attention to detail he puts in the cooking. Would definitely come again.
Unique and amazing Persian food for this Sunday feast!! Chef Yuma and his team did an amazing job of creating an authentic Persian experience.
Third time here for dinner. Each dish of the 7-course tasting menu was amazing, the wine pairing was wonderful, and the service and ambiance are lovely. Incredible bargain; about half the price of Hide with similar experience.
Outstanding menu for the Persian Sunday service. Phenomenal portions that are truly reminiscent of dining in a Persian household.
The headchef Yuma makes a point to serve and explain the dishes to the guests, giving the experience a very personal touch.
10/10 would recommend this for any occasion!
Excellent food in a casual setting with great service. Had the shorter tasting menu and was impressed by every course. Will definitely go back!
Excellent. It is a really great place for Sunday lunch persian style. Generous and outstanding food.
the Persian Sunday Feast was perfect for an occasion meal — a truly special atmosphere with delicious & authentic food (which I say as a half-Iranian, and I know how tricky authenticity can be when cooking for Iranians!) I will certainly be returning with my Iranian family.
What a lovely meal we had at the drunken butler
Sunday’s are Persian feasts and delicious they are too
The food is outstanding. Beautiful flavours, lovingly crafted. Persian Sunday is a real treat. Plenty of food, great variety, wonderful service and lovely to see the kitchen.
Excellent food, great service and chef Yuma is a joy to speak with. Thank you
Absolutely a recommend - I've already told a few friends about it. One of our friends is Persian and she and her husband were amazed by it - they've been to many Persian restaurants in the City and said this is by far the best. Everything was done to perfection and the wine flight accompaniment was perfect as well.
Delicious, beautiful food and amazing wine in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Flawless service and quality of food at every visit.
Tasty food with a intimate restaurant
Three of us went to The Drunken Butler for their Sunday Persian lunch. It was the birthday of one of us who is also vegetarian. I don’t believe I’ve ever paid such a huge bill even in a Michelin starred restaurant. Cynical is the only word I can use to describe their pricing policy.
Whilst the starters were good and the herb omelette something we’d not encountered before, they were no better or worse than the staters in your average Middle Eastern/Lebanese/Turkish restaurant. The main course was a lacklustre lamb stew and roast chicken - no concession was made for the vegetarian other than to give her a bowl of tomato sauce. I know the wine there is expensive and we drank a lot, but how our bill came to more than £300 I don’t know. For this type and amount of food and drink I would have expected the bill to be in the region of £180
In a the competitive sea of London restaurants, this was quite simply one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The food was incredible and inspired; the wine pairing was complimentary and delicately balanced with the food; the restaurant service was excellent. We will definitely be returning and bringing friends
Excellent Sunday (Persian) lunch. Good atmosphere and the lamb and rice dishes were memorable
Will look forward to coming back for more
NB Sunday lunch is different from weekday menu
Sunday evening dinner was outstanding. The flavours of all the dishes were divine and Blended perfectly. I will go back both for another Persian Sunday dinner but also to try the French weekday and Saturday menus.
Great evening out. Sharing all the various components of the meal was really nice. Nice that the chef's came to our table and told us about the food and the history of the family recipes.
Outstanding, flavorful and creative cuisine. Open kitchen that seems to extend into the dining room. Made more so when the chefs preparing the food deliver and explain it. Try the wine pairing with the menu. The selections are very well chosen, high quality and were perfect with the meal. This restaurant is definitely worth a try.
This was a real treat. The food was fantastic, the service impeccable. Well with a visit.
We visited The Drunken Butler for Thursday lunch and were the only people in the restaurant, in fact they opened just for us. Consequently their was no ambiance in the which was disappointing.
The service was attentive but not intrusive The food was very interesting, well presented and well cooked but I felt a little overpriced.
I would love to re-visit the restaurant when it was busier and particularly for the 'Persian' tasting menu on Sunday lunchtimes.
Every element of the tasting menu was delicious. Wonderful flavours and superb presentation. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be going back.
The Drunken Butler provided a feast for all the senses. We felt comfortable, spoilt and indulgent and loved every minute! Would highly recommend the full tasting menu, you won’t be disappointed!
Outstanding service, awesome food. Loved the setup. The owner has clearly set up the place with a lot of love and a desire to share food and flavour experiences. Fine dining in a relaxed and welcoming space. Would highly recommend!
My first visit to The Drunken Butler for lunch today and I was absolutely blown away. It was seriously good. Lovely space, highly-skilled cooking, immaculate service. Only quibble was monkfish main course - it was excellent but portion size was tiny for a pricey £28.
Delightful evening. Charming staff and the chef was a delight. The room needs to be a little more reflective of the price...which is high
It was soo good. We had no idea what to expect and it was like discovering a cool eaterie. The decor is really funky and the food was absolutely outstanding.
Es ist sehr“ intim“ eingerichtet- fast wie bei Freunden
Der Service ist unkompliziert aber profesdionell. Super Weinauswahl- aber recht teuer
Great food. Great ambience
Excellent food And highly creative. We enjoyed everything we had enormously
Good ambience, fabulous tasting menu, even fabulouser wine pairings. Attentive, knowledgeable & personable service. This place is an absolute gem. We'll be back!
Delicious food in a released homely environment. Highly recommended
We had a wonderful time. The diner was wonderful, the chef also adapted for food allergy. Everything was so elegant and there is a great wine selection. Recommending it to all of our friends.
Just one of the loveliest evening we had out. Food was just amazing, lovely atmosphere. Every detail of the evening was looked after. Would highly recommend this place for a special evening.
smelly and very poor food and service, AVOID it
