The Duke Of Cambridge
We opened in 1998 and our ethical business ideals remain the same today: we serve delicious organic food and drink carefully sourced from independent producers, while keeping our environmental impact and food miles super-low. In fact, over 90% of our fresh fruit and veg comes from organic farms in the South East of England and East Anglia. We change our menu daily according to what’s available – if something isn’t in season, you won’t find it on the menu.
Sunday: 12pm - 10:30pm
Food is always of the highest quality. Great fresh ingredients. We had the lamb shank. Highly recommend!
We had an excellent meal, served reasonably quickly and graciously. Particularly imaginative first courses. No space for puds! The only thing not up to standard was the organic French sauvignan described as ' very ordinary.'
We decided to eat our meal in the bar area, which had a much better ambiance and was more spacious and airy. The restaurant has quite a low ceiling and feels somehow 'squashed, ' though it was not full.
The food was very sub standard and incredibly salty. Especially considering the prices. You’d expect a lot better quality for the money they charge.
A bite that sends you back in time,..home (in my case Tuscany) highly appreciated the quality of the food, the service and attention to Winter decorations
I went with a colleague on a Christmas night out.We were both very impressed with the place. The menu was great and the food was so tasty. The pub was so atmospheric and the ambience was really warm and cosy. The waiting staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient.I would highly recommend this place for food and/or drinks. The menu wasn’t very extensive, but it didn’t need to be!Really great experience and good value for money.
Fantastic seasonal, organic food. Chilled out, but efficient and friendly staff. Plenty of room between tables - really good, relaxing evening.
Our table was booked for 16.30 and when we arrived the pub was in full swing with Christmas Lunches, our table was out the back which felt like another world; more intimate and quieter and was perfect for chatting.
My starter of chicken wings was supurb and the veg that came with the roast were deliciously different.
The juice of the day was amazing and our waitress recommended a lovely wine.
We went for Sunday lunch. The food was ok. Good vegetarian option and dessert, though the roast lamb had a slightly ecclectic mix of side dishes (not sure the paprika roasted cauliflower really goes with the rest of the dish). Unfortunately service was slow and I would not normally mind this considering it was a busy Sunday lunch, however our waitress pulled a face when we had to remind her to bring water for the table which was unnecessary.
The food is excellent, as it comes from Riverford farm and veg suppliers
Totally overpriced. For £20 for a main I expect bigger portions and/or higher quality food!
Terrific! Delicious lunch. Nice wines. We very much enjoyed our lunch and plan to return in January.
The food was nice and the pub is a really lovely space. Service was friendly but inattentive.
Excellent Sunday lunch. Perfect for a cosy Sunday with friends.
A simpler veggie option for kids would be awesome.
Lovely organic food in a pub setting without being too noisy. Very much enjoyed the vegetarian options
Lovely food and great service. The burrata and broccoli starter was amazing. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed every course.
Relaxing place to lunch with a friendly atmosphere. Seasonal food very much a plus.
Would come back again to try some of the other menu options Good variety.
Had a very enjoyable evening meal. Service was very well organised, and the food interesting (in the nicest possible way). Ambience sympatico.
A basic error of service led to my family and I having a poor experience at the Duke of Cambridge. I booked a table, wanting to have a dinner and also a round of drinks. However as soon as we sat down we were told curtly that they had another booking and would need the table back by 8.30, which wasn't feel long enough for a relaxed meal. We felt pressured and unwelcome, which led to us eating quickly and leaving. We didn't enjoy our meal, which was a shame as the food was obviously good.
The simple question 'what would you like from this evening?' instead of 'we need this table back at 8.30' would have made all the difference as I don't think our needs were that hard to accommodate. As two of us are blind, it would have been really great if they could have offered to help us find another table for drinks but their only communication was that they wanted us gone by a certain time.
It feels harsh to leave a poor review for such a small thing, but I'm afraid it affected the entire experience of the Duke of Cambridge for us. The prices are high, and while that is in part because of the quality ingredients and cooking, I feel that should also be reflected in considerate and welcoming service. I wouldn't either go back or recommend the place.
Our book group of seven met up here to discuss our book and eat great food. We were not disappointed by the Duke of Cambridge, great seasonal food and good wine at a reasonable price.
I’ve eaten at the Duke of Cambridge several times. The staff are friendly without being intrusive and service is prompt and responsive. The food varies from good to very good - not quite outstanding but reliably enjoyable - and the wine list is very good, with some interesting and unusual choices at reasonable (for London) prices.
Food you can really taste!
Great beer and superb organic wines.
All round excellence - can't wait to go back.
Delicious lunch and organic cider. Chocolate and beetroot brownies divine!
It was a lovely find for us three. We truly enjoyed our three courses and will definitely be back again. Coffee and de caf coffee were luxurious for each of us.
Fabulous Sunday lunch, lovely atmosphere and superb service ☺️
Great Sunday lunch as usual. One of the best spots in London for reliable good food and service. Much appreciated
The food and wine here is wonderful but unfortunately the welcome and service didn’t match the quality of the dinner. Staff were unfriendly and rushed and it took a long time to be served. When our order was finally taken the food arrived quickly but the starters came with the mains. The service charge was very high considering the staff weren’t slightly attentive. Would recommend for food but not for a nice evening out.
Service with a smile, very tasty roast!
A great idea a fully organic restaurant.Food is good but the place is too noisy, need to sort the acoustics.Service patchy.
Have has very good meals here in the past but the four of us all found the Duke has faded a bit
One of my favourite pubs in London. Has a rustic but lovely feel to the pub and the food is superb. Great to see locally sourced ingredients on the menu. Veggie roast is one of the best I’ve ever had.
What a find! Great staff, food and evening. Highly recommend a visit if you like good food in a relaxed place.
Very cosy restaurant, I’ve been there several times, however this time food was not as good as expected. Not disappointing but previous meals were better. Wondering if they has changed the chef/kitchen stuff.
Good wholesome food with quality organic ingredients
REally good food from organic, ethical suppliers. Considerate to the consumer and the environment
Amazing food! Will go again when the menu changes to experience this.
We really enjoyed our dinner here, the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. This is one of my favourite places to come for dinner in london and will definitely be returning!
Excellent and very tasty food, and I loved knowing that it was all organically grown and carefully sourced. I would have liked perhaps a little more choice for main courses as a vegetarian. I ended up getting two starters instead of starter and main, and actually it was plenty for me - and all delicious.
Staff were very friendly, but perhaps could have been a little more confident & professional in selling the various options on the menu. No-one checked everything was OK once dishes arrived (fortunately in our case it was, but I think this is a good practice for any restaurant anyway).
The main bar is pretty noisy if you want to have dinner conversation, but the back room is spacious and a bit quieter, with a nice ambience all of its own, and we enjoyed it there. Not the cheapest place, but given the quality of produce and care in sourcing fantastic organic ingredients, it was worth it.
I had a lovely dinner with my sister on a Thursday evening. All the dishes were tasty, and the service was very good. I can't wait to return.
