The Duke Of Cambridge
We opened in 1998 and our ethical business ideals remain the same today: we serve delicious organic food and drink carefully sourced from independent producers, while keeping our environmental impact and food miles super-low. In fact, over 90% of our fresh fruit and veg comes from organic farms in the South East of England and East Anglia. We change our menu daily according to what’s available – if something isn’t in season, you won’t find it on the menu.
Delicious, healthy food in a relaxed pub atmosphere. Friendly service
This is the place where I had my first Sunday roast ever when I came to London and went back now that I’m leaving with the same person. Food is amazing and service too. Very nice people and super enjoyable.
Very good food. Won't suit people who want pub menu classics as there's nothing like that on offer: instead the Duke of Cambridge delivers on its promise of interesting organic produce, presented with care but without pretension. This is one of those rare places that sticks to a concept year after year and maintains standards. Good beer too! I'll be back soon.
Your food is delicious. I love the fact that it’s close to my principles. The problem for me which is probably insoluble was the difficulty in hearing. Your lovely wooden surfaces create too much noise. Thrilled that wasn’t any background music. Perhaps next time I will ask for a table in the back.
Have been here a few times. Disappointed. There seemed to be a lack of love and care in the food presentation and the service. Felt a bit shoddy and stressed. Slices of meat ontop of a medly of coldsaw/potatoes and a medlee unidentifiable vege. Canteen food - not very refined. Did not do credit to the meat, which of itself was tasty. Waitress seemed confused, stressed and unattentive. Great that it is organic and money paid goes to supporting this. Support this place in principle.
Lovely and delicious food. Very friendly staff, would go back again.
The chef came to explain in depth the restaurant's policy regarding sustainable fishing. The waiter was professional, efficient and friendly. Water and bread fresh out of the oven was replenished without us asking.
Lovely pub, cool vibe, food is very nice with generous portions. This is one of those places that makes London great. The menu changes every day I believe. If you book a table in the dining room you are served, however in the bar area you order at the bar. Everything is organic including the drinks. Great selection of (organic) wine and beer. The waitress forgot to bring our bread but when we reminded her she took it off our bill.
Good service and good organic food in a pub atmosphere
Great ingredients, food and service. We have used Riverford since 2007 for our organic fruit vegetables and meat.
This was just below our Airbnb and it was the best meal we had in London. The service was top notch as well!
Very Good value for money but a little disappointed as I was expecting the dishes to be tastier and exciting. It was just a little bland taste wise. It’d rate the food 3.5/5 just because my expectations were rather high
Really brilliant Sunday roast. Great service. You could taste how good quality the organic produce was. The back dining area felt a tiny bit cramped but it wasn’t too crowded so it was fine. Will be back!
Nice place to eat but fairly pricey for what you get. The meal was OK but under seasoned, the staff were pleasant and helpful
Very nice food in the relaxed atmosphere of a pub. We had a great salmon and a very tasty shepherd pie. Very responsive to dietary constraints. Minus: quite noisy.
It's a lovely place with nice food and special atmosfere.
The food was just excellent, lovely wine selection, great place for catching up with a friend.
They use the best available organic ingredients but at a high price-mark. You really get what you pay for, delicious food with lots of flavours. Great company ethos too!
Great service, food and drinks! Never fails to impress. My friends, new to Riverford, really enjoyed themselves.
Delicious organic food. We had the crab and leek gratin to start, which were both very light and fresh.
We both had the spring risotto which was amazingly green, fresh and felt indulgent and healthy at the same time. The salted caramel, coffee and shortbread was a lovely dessert, not too sweet and ended the meal nicely. The cheese and membrillo was also excellent. Great staff, our waitress noticed we had been given a table next to a loud table and suggested an alternative. They were attentive and friendly even though it was a busy Saturday night. Definitely want to go back!
Such a nice pub! Great meal with fresh produce and interesting options
Delicious roast, I had the lamb shank - perfectly cooked veg. Great portions too!
Our favourite! Amazing food, gorgeous ambience... recommend it all the time.
Difficult to beat this place for great food, lovingly and creatively prepared from an innovative seasonal menu.
Gorgeous, seasonal menu and the food we had was excellent. We had a really lovely lunch and will definitely go back.
A nice rustic pub/restaurant. The food is reasonable and tastes fresh, however the portion sizes are pretty small, the menu is limited and it's expensive. Not great value for money.
Food is always of the highest quality. Great fresh ingredients. We had the lamb shank. Highly recommend!
We had an excellent meal, served reasonably quickly and graciously. Particularly imaginative first courses. No space for puds! The only thing not up to standard was the organic French sauvignan described as ' very ordinary.'
We decided to eat our meal in the bar area, which had a much better ambiance and was more spacious and airy. The restaurant has quite a low ceiling and feels somehow 'squashed, ' though it was not full.
The food was very sub standard and incredibly salty. Especially considering the prices. You’d expect a lot better quality for the money they charge.
A bite that sends you back in time,..home (in my case Tuscany) highly appreciated the quality of the food, the service and attention to Winter decorations
I went with a colleague on a Christmas night out.We were both very impressed with the place. The menu was great and the food was so tasty. The pub was so atmospheric and the ambience was really warm and cosy. The waiting staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient.I would highly recommend this place for food and/or drinks. The menu wasn’t very extensive, but it didn’t need to be!Really great experience and good value for money.
Fantastic seasonal, organic food. Chilled out, but efficient and friendly staff. Plenty of room between tables - really good, relaxing evening.
Our table was booked for 16.30 and when we arrived the pub was in full swing with Christmas Lunches, our table was out the back which felt like another world; more intimate and quieter and was perfect for chatting.
My starter of chicken wings was supurb and the veg that came with the roast were deliciously different.
The juice of the day was amazing and our waitress recommended a lovely wine.
We went for Sunday lunch. The food was ok. Good vegetarian option and dessert, though the roast lamb had a slightly ecclectic mix of side dishes (not sure the paprika roasted cauliflower really goes with the rest of the dish). Unfortunately service was slow and I would not normally mind this considering it was a busy Sunday lunch, however our waitress pulled a face when we had to remind her to bring water for the table which was unnecessary.
The food is excellent, as it comes from Riverford farm and veg suppliers
Totally overpriced. For £20 for a main I expect bigger portions and/or higher quality food!
Terrific! Delicious lunch. Nice wines. We very much enjoyed our lunch and plan to return in January.
The food was nice and the pub is a really lovely space. Service was friendly but inattentive.
Excellent Sunday lunch. Perfect for a cosy Sunday with friends.
A simpler veggie option for kids would be awesome.
