The Duke of Hamilton NW3
The pub is also home to the Hampstead Jazz Club, one of north London’s best new music venues
We had 2 very tender lamb dishes that were well prevented and well served. It was lunch time and only one other table was occupied so it was quiet.
Good food and friendly staff. Have been there before at odd and quiet hours and have always enjoyed just eating and drinking at the duke.
Though last time there was a birthday party going on and place was very noisy.
Good place to hang out with locals. Not best for dinner if you want to chat
Great food. Great service. Have a meal here now before the rest of Hampstead finds out.
There was no one else in the restaurant. We received the wrong salad and the crab linguine was made with spaghetti not linguine, was tasteless and stodgy. Disappointed.
We live near to the sister pub The Clifton in St John's Wood, but thought we would give the Hampstead one a try.
I have to say we thought the food was better at the Duke of Hamilton.
So that's 1 to NW3, Nil to NW8 !
Had a lovely and chilled evening with my boyfriend on Saturday, service was briliant, everyone was very polite and helpful, food was lovely, the steak was super tasty, the meat was melting in our mouths. We then had a wonderful concert downstairs in the Jazz Club listening to some really wonderful musicians Jim Mullen and Ciyo’s band. Definitely would recommend to everyone!!
The drinks and the ambiance were nice, but we just couldn’t eat the food they brought ( spaghetti with crab were tasteless and overcooked, mussels smelled disgusting... salad was quite good as well as drinks. It’s a nice place to have a drink with a friend, but I would never eat here again
Fabulous addition to the Hampstead neighbourhood. Great atmosphere, lovely team and delicious food and wine list!
Amazing food, lovely staff, couldn't have been more attentive and helpful.
great food, great staff, fantastic service! lovely for brunch, lunch or dinner! delicious
Friendly, warm and welcoming. Delicious food, great atmosphere and lovely people. Would certainly recommend and hope to go again.
The roast dinner was fantastic! The chicken wings are also delicious!
Everything was just great
Food, service and atmosphere all first class
A local gem with a personal touch
Nice place the food was distinctly mediocre
Service was slow because one waiter only.
Food was good but not exceptional.
The staff were great and very accommodating with our puppy as well. We appreciated their attentiveness and professionalism. The food was excellent. We had a fantastic Sunday roast with all the trimmings and the tiramisu afterwards was to die for!
Fantastic Sunday lunch in Hampstead, the guys have brought the class and quality of The Clifton right through in their second site. Will definitely be back.
I had a lovely Mother's Day meal here. We all had the roast beef which was melt in the mouth and cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Considering how busy they were the service was excellent. The normal value prevailed so were not part of any special mother's day menu! Great gastro pub will keep on going.
Simple dishes prepared extremely well. Buzzing and friendly atmosphere. Will investigate the jazz club downstairs next time!
Nice place, great location, good for a weekend after a walk by the Hamstead community!
Generally good: generous portions of fresh tasty food brought with reasonable promptness by friendly staff. A few niggles like having to ask twice for salt & pepper to be brought and being charged £1 more for my salad than the menu price. Not cheap but not bad for Hampstead! We’ll go again.
Great location and lovely staff meant we had an enjoyable Sunday lunch.
Loved this place.....it was the top pub on the time out list and I’m so glad I chose it. Really warm and friendly staff who went above and beyond to make us welcome. Food was excellent - we had the Sunday lunch. Will definitely return!!
Great pub with a lovely atmosphere and fab food. I would definitely return
Good food, decent beers and great ambiance! They’ve done a good job with the place!
A wonderful Valentine's meal with a great menu to choose from. We had the pear, goats cheese and walnut salad with the pate on toast to start, and the surf and turf shared main, with frites and green beans with flaked, toasted almonds. Rounded off with a brownie and ice cream for him and a toffee pudding and ice cream to die for for me. Live Classical Spanish guitar and faultless service. I would highly recommend this lovely establishment. The food was undoubtedly the star and we received such a warm welcome and fabulous service.
This was a wonderful Monday lunch - great food and superb value, friendly service with the right balance of service and friendliness.
Nice environment, good food, nice and friendly staff. A wonderful place for a Sunday lunch. I must mention the spicy vegetable soup that was devine!!! I would definitely go back.
Overall enjoyed the food.
Would recommend they do more with their wine list - too limited
Friendly staff, good service
We had a family/friends lunch with 3 generations, with some arriving at different times. The staff were totally flexible and accommodating, including fitting a child's buggy into the space near the table. Food arrived promptly and was mostly very good, with fresh salads, good fish & chips and all trimmings. Drinks were brought to the table. We weren't hurried even when the bar became full. Perhaps the only slight downside was a request for bread being supplied by a plate of toast, which wasn't quite what we wanted. However, overall we found it a welcoming venue and a pleasant experience. We'll be back!
Five of us had dinner here over Christmas and it was delightful. Delicious food, great, friendly service and a relaxed amiable atmosphere. It is primarily a pub, however, so don't expect a huge range of options to choose from. We'll definitely be back to this lovely corner of Hampstead.
Very friendly staff, good quality, unpretentious but good food. Dog-friendly too! We will definitely be back!
Lovely service and tasty Sunday Lunch - definitely worth a stop if wandering around Hampstead.
I loved this place. Just reopened Nov 2018 and I wish I lived locally to this great pub. Above all.. so friendly
Great place after the refurb. Really friendly staff.
Our first visit due to the incredible live jazz downstairs.
A really great pub, good pipes for the 'London Pride'
Well cooked food and really friendly helpful staff, upstairs and down.
Will definitely come again to eat and hear such good jazz.
