Not had a bad meal at the Dumb Post Inn. The food is always delicious food, using natural and nutritious ingredients. The menus are always appealing with a good choice of vegetarian dishes and whilst I'm not a vegetarian I do like to to have the option of tasty non-meat dishes. Love it here :)

Honestly one of the best Sunday pub roasts I’ve had in years. Haven’t eaten here for a while. It was good before but this was exceptional. I really like that they use locally sourced produce. Everyone that served us was really professional but also super friendly. I would highly recommend this pub (even better in the summer when you get the amazing views from the terrace)

went on a saturday lunch time. Very cosy atmospheric pub. Very noisy but due to hi ceilings its understandable. Food was good the charcuterie platter very good value. Soup of the day i was told very tasty. I had mushrooms on toast certainly enough mushrooms for one slice of toast but not for 2 peices so i was a little disappointed . but they were tasty all the same . The staff all very attentive and and pleasant.

The food is always incredible, last night was no exception. So worth the money. The staff are always so friendly and attentive. They helped us to celebrate an important birthday. Always my go to for special occasions.

Nice food although the experience would have been improved by better service. It wasn’t a particularly warm welcome - I’d brought my dog (it’s advertised as dog friendly) but the lady behind the bar said “we don’t allow does in the restaurant but I’ve nowhere else to put you so it’ll have to be ok”. I then watched another table bring a dog into the restaurant. Perhaps they had the same warm welcome. Then unfortunately, other cauliflower in our cauliflower cheese wasn’t cooked so we didn’t eat it. But the server just said she’d pass it on to chef so that was £4 down the drain. I would go for the food but not the service.

We went as a family with a 5 year old for Sunday lunch and it was excellent. It's great that they offer a child's Sunday lunch which was quite substantial. The choice of meats was excellent and the autumn vegetable tart was amazing. Lots of vegetables and definitely worth paying for the delicious cauliflower cheese. The meals are competitively priced and have the advantage of a lovely view over the surrounding countryside. My sister-in-law can't wait to go back in the summer when the outside bar is open so that she can enjoy the outdoors. Will definitely be back.

Had a fabulous lunch on the terrace. The Dumb Post was absolutely packed so I waa glad I had reserved a table! The food was great, lighter bites but good value & the view from the terrace is spectacular. A wonderful way of spending a few hours with friends. So glad this pub is on our doorstep x

The set lunch was great value (on a Friday). A crab and heritage tomato salad was as good as anything you could get in a far fancier place. The cod was beautifully cooked. The lamb burger was generous, well cooked, pretty good amount of tomato, lettuce, onion and pickle, though a little short on saucing. The Dumb Post has spent a lot on refurbishment. The views are outstanding, and right now there is a very good chef in charge.

Maybe the normal chef was on holiday or something….. have always recommended the dumb post as outstanding but probably would not do so after that meal. Inedible leather like steak (they did not charge for it), overcooked fish, seriously dried out chips and tasteless mushy peas. But the apple sauce with the cracking was superb.

Overall a good experience with tasty, well cooked and presented food. Service was fantastic and professional. The experience would have been five star had it not been for the high noise level from a rowdy bar with regular expletives and bad language.

The food was fine but we had to wait for one hour before it came. Five minutes to get seated, 15 minutes to place our order and 40 minutes before the food arrived. Apparently they were "overwhelmed with walk-ins" . My advice is they should only seat the number of diners that the kitchen can cater for. (We had booked a table in advance.)
