Would recommend. Food very nice. Service friendly.
Very delicious food and perfect drinks!
Family friendly, space for the children to run around whilst parents enjoy a stunning view. Food was absolutely delicious!! We all enjoyed something different & top ratings from everyone.
We’ve been to the Dumbpost a lot so were really disappointed ☹️ the food was ok but we weren’t given any serving spoons for our veg, the service was slow and no soap in the toilet and when I asked for some I got given hand sanitizer 😢 I said I would like soap and had to chase half an hour later.
I never knew the pub existed after 20 years living in Devizes. A great find and can’t wait for another visit.
Lovely setting. Great menu and delivery. Good to see our local pub upgraded like this.
Normally dine during the week and the Dumb Post is one of our favourites. Dined first time on a Sunday and it was very busy, but everything seemed under control.
The staff were really lovey and my son feel special on his birthday and of course the food was delicious
Had a fantastic evening. The ambiance was brilliant, the food tasty and the service friendly. Would recommend.
As always both the food and service was excellent, as our lunch was on a Monday morning the Resturant was not too busy but still a great atmosphere.
The dumb Post Inn is a pub which is worth a visit your made very welcome from the first step through the door, good food & beers with excellent service the pub setting is also lovely we will come back again
A totally enjoyable meal within a lovely environment.
The Dumb Post is a very welcoming family pub, great selection of drinks with amazing food. As well as this the staff are very welcoming and always willing to help.
I would recommend a visit to this amazing country pub.
Nice and friendly, with nothing too much trouble for the staff. CV precautions first class with outdoor dining best for the wonderful views. Sunday lunch was very filling with no room for a dessert!
Great to see The Dumb Post so busy and buzzing - despite this, the lovely staff stayed friendly and efficient. They must be knackered at the end of a shift 🤗
As always, lovely food, lovely pub and lovely atmosphere xxx
Came for a meal after a long day of work and was suggested the crab special. We had never tried crab before but it sounded nice so we went for it snd it was amazing! The burger and the fish and chips were cooked perfectly snd the onion rings and Mac and truffle cheese were very good. Very well priced and a lovely garden area. I would highly recommend.
Fantastic vista as we dined outside. Food amazing and the staff welcoming and understood the balance of helping but not intruding
Great service and lovely food!
I like to visit the Dumb Post during the week as it gets very busy at week-ends. The view from the outside setting area is outstanding, and the seating area is very well laid out. The staff are very friendly and the service was good. With respect to food, they do a few dishes extremely well (e.g. fish and chips and burgers are great), though they could do with one or two low cholesterol options - the vegetables are covered in butter, and there a lot of dishes with cheese and bacon, which tastes wonderful, but given that I have to cut down on these things, is a bit limiting.
As always the food was fabulous, unfortunately on this occasion the service was a little slow, but it was busy. Wouldn’t stop us from going again though.
This was a random pick from me and my partner…. and I have to say we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, very delicious also very beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and checked to make sure everything was ok! We were so happy with the meal that we will be going back again in the future.
Also the view from the balcony is beautiful and blissful and with outdoor heating that was an added benefit!
We are looking forward to returning soon, Thank you to all staff and to the chef for cooking such beautiful food
Lovely meal out the only reason I gave 4 stars for food is the triple cooked chips were a little too crunchy and not much potato left inside but overall very nice
We went for dinner for the first time in ages, the staff were welcoming and efficient. Couldn't do enough to make sure we were OK.
It's a hidden gem of a pub, delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. Perfect for lunch, dinner or a quick drink whilst out walking along the many cycle paths and bridle ways which surround it.
Well worth the visit for the beautiful views from the garden alone!
Nice pub, good beer, good location. Food ok but took a while to arrive (40 minutes from time of arrival). They nearly ran out of chips and my brother literally was served with only 8. Also the menu was only part of what was advertised on the website. I was recommended this pub but I think they must have had an off day. I live locally so will probably try again sometime
Good food and good value but needed a bit more atmosphere. A bit of low back ground music would have been nice. It is a balance as you want to be able to chat but as we were there quite early for lunch it lacked a welcoming vib.
Good beers and a reasonable Sunday roast, it seemed the veg had been cooked many hours before , but it was tasty and the chicken brownie dessert was worth having even despite the £7 price tag
Our table was directly below a sound speaker. Very difficult to hear each other over the voices at other tables too. Waiter wore black shorts and trainers; hardly suitable for a Sunday lunch situation.
None of the crockery matched and was all a very dark colour. Glasses were old to the point that the logos were coming off from the amount of washing. Even the waiter apologised for what he had to bring as water tumblers!
The food was OK but not of the standard we had anticipated; the chicken breast was very small and attached to the wing bone. Roast lamb was “slapped” onto the plate and each of these meat dishes was served with a large piece of Yorkshire pudding that overwhelmed the presentation. Hot vegetables were served in one dish hardly adequate for three and as the carrots were white variety, they didn’t give colour to the meal against parsnips and potatoes. Only the greens gave colour.
One of our party ordered battered fish, but this too was smaller than expected.
The furniture was dull and uncomfortable and the decor drab to say the least. Sponge wadding was actually hanging out of one chair front!
At no point were we asked if the meals were ok as usually happens.
Needless to say, we left without ordering desserts and won’t return again.
VERY disappointed and surprised.
The outside space was lovely with brilliant views.
Sat inside due to changing weather. Wasps in the window, cobwebs in the corner. Food served directly on wooden boards, ( would suggest greaseproof paper between food and board), terribly sticky tables. Good point was decent starched napkins. Food was lovely.
Always good and the views are lovely. Great staff!
Simple meal done well."…………………………………………………………..,,…
Can't say I was too impressed. Both had roast lamb which was pretty tough in the main. The Yorkshire puddings were pretty cold also. It was a shame because it promised so much. Superb position with lovely views but that could never make up for an inferior offering
Fabulous meal !!! Lovely pub !!!definitely going back .
The bacon and brie sandwich had seared griddle pan marks on it. Looked nice but tasted awfully bitter. The rest was really good, coleslaw was beautiful and puddings were to die for.
Service very good. Bit disappointed with the food.
The food was very tasty and staff seemed happy to be back working being busy.
Just fine. Good food in an english pub. On a summers day I would highly recommend
We originally booked outside but someone called us before and asked if we would like a table inside - was very grateful as it was very wet !
Great to see this pub in full swing again, it’s in a beautiful setting. Great outdoor space.
Booked for dinner, menu is a little limited but most of what we ordered was very nice and portions are ample.
Staff a little rushed but very polite and friendly . Definitely worth visiting again
3rd visit and love this place. The people who work are are friendly and genuine, the food is consistently lovely and the views ..................... !
Really attentive staff and delicious food - would definitely recommend
